Initially, I thought that Dr. Grossman was a good doctor, however as time transpired I realized that she has a serious problem with respect. She also does not have the emotional acuity as it relates to servicing patients with different cultural backgrounds. Dr. Grossman has to realize that all the patients she serves does not have the same decorum. In short, she has to work on improving her "people" skills and understand that all patients will not have "whatever the doctors say" attitude. She can come across as very abrasive and rude when you are engaged in discussions with her. She is in fact knowledgeable as it relates to her craft, however, she does not have any beside manners. In short, a personal physician has to have the ability to administer medicine as well as develop a relationship with his or her client. First and foremost, Dr. Grossman has to realize that the majority of the people that she serves comes from a vast array of cultural backgrounds that extend across socioeconomic statuses as well as educational levels, thus they are not all the same. Dr. Grossman also has to be acutely aware that most of the clients that she serves may have the "whatever the doctor" says attitude, however she must be reminded that some of her clients are well educated and are entitled to ask as many questions as they see fit in regards to their own health. If she is not apt to answer those questions, then Dr. Grossman may need to find a population to serve that caters to her needs as opposed to the patients' needs. During one of my visits with her she tried to engage me in an argument and accused me of not being forthcoming. My statement to her was if you paid enough attention to what your client is relaying to you instead of trying to find some inaccuracy, then maybe you would not miss pertinent details shared. In short, why would a patient withhold information if they are seeking help? Besides, if she provided a diagnosis, then she must have been able to gauge what the problem was. So, she should not become irritated when a patient is asking her questions about their health but she does. I am the type of patient and person that is going to ask questions regardless of whether it irritates the doctor's senses or not. After all, she is not providing services "pro bono" or free of charge. I am spending my hard earn money and I expect quality service. In addition, she is adamant about you getting blood work done which I do not oppose, however if you are going to request blood work each visit at least have the audacity to call the patient and review the results or readings via the telephone or follow-up visit. It seems to be a formality that is never taken seriously enough to review. As a patron and customer, I would like for my doctor to review results of screenings. In short, Dr. Grossman, is a doctor, but she is not the patient and she should not have any scruples with any questions or suggestions, but she does. In my opinion, if she is irritated with questions, then she may have exhausted her time as a physician. Again, I would like to reiterate that she needs to work on her mannerisms and approach people with due respect. I am a grown man that exhibits respect and I demand it in return. Dr. Grossman felt as though she was speaking with a child during our consultation. She is well aware that I am a professional, however she showed that she does not respect that and I am appalled at her behavior. I think that it is important that she realizes that she is not the only professional in the room when she is providing services to clients that have the intellectual acuity as it relates to asking questions about their health. I also seriously doubt that she will be willing to handle the disrespect that she directs toward others. I have a serious problem with the way that she handles business and I shared that with the office manager. I also had a serious problem with her questioning my integrity which did not need be validated by her. I would not recommend this doctor for services. A family member of mine gave this MD verbal consent to converse with me over the phone about a particular new health condition that he acquired. As I began to ask questions, she immediately became offended. She was very condescending, abrupt, and rude. She made several comments alluding to the fact that I wouldn't understand the medical verbiage and assumed that I was a CNA, when I clearly established that I was a Registered Nurse. Needless to say, nothing was accomplished and I didn't get any of my questions addressed. This encounter was very disappointing and unprofessional.
