Very unprofessional I will never go there again.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Parsons for melanoma skin checks for over 20 years. She has saved my life on several occasions. Great bedside manner. She’s awesome.

I took my father here with a long family history of skin cancer. I took him in for a spot on his face which she assured me was a mole. Six months later I took him back as it had grown and she was very abrupt and told me again it’s not cancer. Fast forward another six months and we go back and at this time she kinda panicked because it was obviously cancer. Long story short my fathers face became paralyzed on that side as the cancer spread into his facial nerves. He had several painful surgeries and the cancer spread to his lungs ultimately killing him. Found her extremely knowledgeable,especially with such a rare,complex disease.

HORRIBLE bedside manner. Terrible... first-time patient experience, I won't be back! Let's see where do I begin; my appointment was at 8:50 however I did not leave until 10:35. Most of the time was waiting in the exam room to be seen. Her assistant was very helpful and attentive to my concerns, however Dr Parsons who was running about 40 minutes behind was belligerent/ condescending, dismissed my concerns, and use comments like "that's all I got for you and there's nothing else I can do". My experience with her was rushed and rude. I felt like I was irritating her with asking questions regarding my chronic skin condition. I felt like a kid being shooed away. I left her office feeling hopeles, pissed off, with a bag of Aquaphor for a chronic skin condition of 10 years, and out a $40 co-pay.

She is routinely overbooked and late. She was nearly an hour late in seeing me for my most recent appointment. Inexcusable in my book, because it implies her time is much more valuable than her patients.

An annual checkup with few presenting problems. Dr. parsons was certainly speedy. Cursory look. I asked about a Med that I am taking which I had read can lead to melanoma. I couldn’t recall the name. She would not take the time to allow me to look in my iPhone notes for the name, but assured me it was not a problem. I said oh good, what is the name. She couldn’t recall it either but said she had read an article on it. So,she assured me to continue taking a drug, the name of which NEITHER of us knew. Likely it is the same, but who knows. Appalling. As requested, without any discussion of why, she wrote me a Rx for retin-a. No caution about sun sensitivity, despite the fact that I take two other drugs that caution about sun sensitivity. A waste of time but certainly not much, given the few minutes she spent. I won't be back. Competent? Professional? Most certainly. However, I did not appreciate being examined by Dr. Parsons and two "interns". The three talked about me in the 3rd person, and examined me like I was a lab specimen. The doctor rushed me through, not paying sufficient attention to my specific issues. Some improvement needed here in the area of "bedside manner".

Dr. Mary Horner is beyond wonderful! I have been to numerous dermatologists throughout the past 8 years and no one has put in the time and effort to take care of my issues like Dr. Horner has. She listened to me and the problems I was having. She tried multiple different methods until she finally found something that worked for me. She never once gave up or tried to send me to a different doctor, she continued to research for further solutions until the resolution was reached. Dr. Horner is the true definition of someone who loves there job! The office staff is also very friendly and beyond accommodating if the schedule allows. I've been a melanoma patient for 25 years and Dr. Parsons has treated me for the past 15. She is very professional, takes time to discuss life and medical issues every visit. Always very thorough every 6 months. Staff very organized and building is clean and easy to find.

Doctor Parsons is a great Doctor. She is cutting edge great. She is also kind and considerate. Put that on top of a caring and smart and you have --The BRebecca Lackner

I love dr. Parsons! I've been going to her for over 10 years and she is very knowledgable and I feel well cared-for when I visit. I drive all the way from the Bay Area now because I don't want to go to anyone else!

I found her quite helpful on my visits...granted she doesn't spend lots of extra time with you, but few doctors do, these days. It's always a good idea to come in with a written list of questions, so you can tackle them all before the doctor leaves; remember they're under massive time pressure, so organize your thoughts before you come in. But the reason I chose this office was: this is the office other doctors recommend for finding skin cancers, the one they go to themselves. Some other offices miss the early stages; these folks are good at catching them. That's my greatest concern, so here's where I go! Also, just so you're aware: reviewing the potential side effects of treatments is more the pharmacist's job than the doctor's...the doctor may give you a quick rundown, but for the full story, ask your pharmacist (I'm a pharmacist, so I know! ;-). I have been to Dr. Parsons office three times and each time was no different from the last. The visit was rushed and brief. She didn't go over the side effect of the treatment plans she had planned for me. I didn't know I had to ease into using my creams since they were so strong and she didn't take the time to tell me which cleansers to use and avoid with the Rx. My recent visit was the last straw as she refused to have her office fax my Rx to my mail order pharmacy, stating "Her staff is stressed enough dealing with the pharmacy". The front office staff are rude and grouchy. You're lucky if you get a smile or greeting. They only take cash...too old school for my taste.
