THE GREATEST EYE DOCTOR OF ALL TIME. I had a fully infected left eye from having tar and motor oil going in my eye, i went to a eye doctor with high rating in long island. He was unfortunately bot able to find the problem , BUT DR MARIA FOUND THE PROBLEM after THE first visit and after 1-2 months of medication Dr Maria cared for my eye and was able to heal it , she was professional in the beginning, she was professional in the end and even gifted me cool contacts and solution for free. She is the best eye doctor in NYC

Fraud, this place is huge on committing fraud and delaying on giving contacts or glasses. I highly recommend you look into your medical claims because this place is probably billing you more than they should to take advantage of people. They do medical claims multiple times and are getting away with it since no one looks at their medical claims if their insurance covers everything. They will eventually be found out, go to Jail for fraud, and lose their license to practice. Don’t get your eyes checked here unless you want your glasses/contacts to never be given to you. Worst doctor office. Avoid this place. Never will come again.

Very dissapointed with Doctor Maria Asprogerakas and her staff. I would not suggest anyone to seek medical care from this office. From a personal experience and multiple visits to Doctor Maria, the care I recieved can be described as incompetent. The staff make any situation even more difficult through negligent care.

This doctor does not know what she is doing. She examined my eyes and gave me the wrong prescription. I paid for glasses with the wrong prescription thanks to her and after not being able to see well I had my eyes re-examined by another doctor and was given my correct prescription. She was telling me I needed to do different vision therapies as well which later on when I went to the other doctor I found out that I did not need to do anything like that. Dr. Asprogerakas was a good specialist, Unfortunately, the quality of service you will get there depends on her mood and the mood on her staff. Some of the front desk girls are so rude and unprofessional, special Maria. I order my glasses (which I paid partially from my packet) in October and received only in March. When I asked the office to change my eye drops, because over the counter wasn't working, it took a month to get prescription. And with the comments from the front desk: "We spending so much time on you, instead we could do something else or take care of another person". Do you think this is accepted behavior in doctors office , specialy doctors office? The best!!!

This place is absolutely amazing! I was able to get an appointment as soon as I called in less than 24 hours. The front desk staff are very friendly and attentive. The doctor is very sweet, professional and quick! I had such a wonderful experience and highly recommend this place to everyone. Their frame selection is also great.

Maria was giving wrong diagnosis, wrong medicines and actually made my eye condition worse. I realized she actually has no idea what she’s doing.

Doctor Asprogerakas’s professionalism is almost as ugly as her face. I had my eye exam with her and told her ahead of time that I needed a detailed prescription as I will be ordering glasses outside of her establishment. She wrote me a prescription which I didn’t read because I was in a hurry (I assumed it would be detailed as I have requested). When I went home I realized that some of the information was left blank. I called her office the next day to ask if the detailed prescription can be given to me. I went in today to pick up my prescription and she was with another patient. Once she was done with the patient she came out and screamed my name. I walked up to her and she started ranting with her disgusting attitude and unprofessional tone. She told me that the prescription that she gave me was complete and I did not know how to read it. I showed her the chart online which showed what needed to be filled out and also explained that she left many areas blank. She went on to tell me that I only had to put in one side of the information and not the other. I said OK and I asked her another question about where to fill in the P.D. She then told me that I need to learn how to read because the area where it was shown to put in the PD was not actually the PD. That is when I told her that her rude remark was unnecessary. Her behavior is worse than a disgruntled fast food restaurant Employee. I will never go to her again and if anyone decides to go to her please be ready to deal with an angry, ugly, pathetic excuse for an Optometrist. I would like to add that the receptionist and the person standing behind the receptionist were very nice, very professional and a delight to communicate with. I am furious with this eye doctor and regret not heeding the awful warnings on google reviews. The doctor is wonderful and everything went smoothly at my appointment for a contact lens exam. However, I was told my contact lenses would be in within 2-3 business days. This was on June 15th. As of Saturday the 29th, I have still not received the contacts. I called and they said they'd be delivered Monday or later. Today, I called ten times and no one answered. The voicemail says they are open from 10-2 on Mondays, so I walked there around 11:45am. Sure enough, I get there and there's a new sign on the door saying "Summer Hours: Mondays Closed." Wow. No one told me this when I called two days ago. So now I paid $90 for contact lenses hoping they would be ready for me to go on vacation, now I have no contacts and wasted my money. I told them repeatedly I needed them Monday July 1st at the latest. Completely incompetent staff, I will absolutely not be returning. You pay them and receive nothing in return. This doctor is fantastic and knew immediately what the issue I was having with my eye was. She worked patiently and multiple times with me and has a great chair side manner. A+

I've been going here for at least 8 years and there's a reason for it. Dr. Maria is great. She looks at me and knows what is going on with my eyes. She's always friendly and knowledgeable. I got LASIK and I still see her to care for my eye health. I trust her.

Doctor, is okay, staff are racist and incompetent. Went in February for a routine exam, 3 months later, no call back, no contacts, no glasses. When you call they say oh we are really busy right now, can we call you back,never do, and they are never busy. Don’t come here.

If I could give negative stars I would not hesitate. PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. I took my husband and 14 year old son a few months ago, everything was fine, got a new pair of glasses with an update prescription. Move forward a few months later, since February, I have been calling non stop to get a copy of my husbands prescription because he lost his glasses (happens to most people right), we're willing to pay whatever fee required since its out fault. When I called (out of the dozens of times) the receptionist keeps telling me "We don't take your insurance anymore" I'm thinking "ok that sucks but whatever it happens" and i requested a copy of my husbands prescription so that was I can order his glasses myself online (I've done this before but I need his update prescription strength since it changed from last time), they said ok I will ask Dr. Maria to give you a copy and will call you back....I have been calling every other day, literately the same story over and over "Oh I forgot, or she forgot, or shes not in....so many excuses!" I'm wondering is she even alive? Go on vacation? The conversation ends the same way every single time "Ok give me your name and number and we'll call you back tomorrow" This has been happening since February! Something is going on over there, and I have heard from others patients and customers the same thing... I don't all I need is a copy of his prescription so I can go somewhere else, that is it! We didn't choose to stop them from taking out insurance, they did. And every time I call, its the same two receptionist and I know they remember me but start to act dumb and act like this is the first time I'm calling them, so frustrating. I use to go there with my son. In the beginning was fine. Not the best but fine. She did an eye examination, changed glasses for him. After that I asked for eye therapy as my son needs for strabismus. I paid for one time visit 25’ therapy 85$! I do willing to pay this amount for this time, but do want to see a quality while at this office the eye therapy equipments looks like from Pre war 2! Very disappointed! Next visit I felt rushed away when I start to ask more question about my kid eye therapy and his eye condition. what she kept telling me is to change insurance to have it for free... in this office who was only polite and nice was front desk ladies! Very nice and helpful. I wish I could say the same about Dr. MARIA. She might be a good in what she does but her attitude makes me walk away. Irresponsible staff! I’ve been with Maria for few years and there were always delays or missteps on her staff’s side. But when my kid needed replacement glasses ASAP and I payed the bill in full ahead of time, they told me that standard turnaround time is 10 working days but they will expedite his new glasses. It’s been over 10 days, I called and I was informed that they placed his order week after I dropped the new frames off and they have no idea when the glasses will be done. My kid has to sit out his Christmas play and other activities. And I will be taking my business to Costco next time. Dr. Maria- you were ok, but you lost 4 patience because of you irresponsible staff. Irresponsible staff! My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Maria Asprogerakas for many years. She has been devoted to giving us the best of eye care and her experience has uncovered an eye problem my wife was having that no other doctor detected. Dr. Asprogerakas resolved the problem with the most conservative treatments as opposed to any invasive surgery that most physicians jump into. We will continue to see her in years to come for even our basic eye care needs. Her staff is also to be commended for their welcoming mannerisms each time we call or visit. Best eye doctor I've ever had. Amazing customer service. The doctor is so nice

Very disappointed. After having gone to her in the past and being more than satisfied with her office, this time I have to say that it was not a good experience. The doctor herself is great, she's very thorough, takes her time and explains as she's examining why there have been changes. The part that I'm dissatisfied with is the front office. They got the order wrong not once, but twice. The second time they said they would rush the order but that was not the case, today makes two weeks when the glasses should have been in. I was just notified this past Monday. I really hope they got it right this time otherwise I'm just going to ask for the prescription and have the glasses done somewhere else. Five weeks for a pair of glasses is inexcusable. In the future I will only have my vision checked and ask for the prescription and have my glasses done somewhere else. Very disappointed. Great, attentive receptionist service, nice doctor, for what more could one ask?

THE most incompetent doctors office I have EVER had to deal with. It's taken me over 2 months just to get a new prescription, and then they tell me my insurance is covering my contacts and when they find out they were wrong, instead of calling me they ask my insurance to call me, because they don't even have the decency to call and explain to me that they messed up. How many times did they mess up? Oh god. So many times. The front desk associates never have ANY idea what they are talking about. They actually said to me "I don't know anything about contacts, so.." YOU WORK IN AN OPTOMETRIST'S OFFICE. Maybe you should learn something about glasses and contacts? Just a thought. Do NOT go here. Seriously the worst experience I've ever had with any doctor, and months later I still don't have new contacts. Now I have to go order through 1-800 contacts, which I could've done on my own weeks ago, if this office had known what they were telling me they knew. Awful. Just awful. The best: a super-friendly neighborhood practice, not the usual impersonal, depressing medical office. And Dr. Maria provides savvier eyecare than the Manhattan ophthalmologist I saw. Plus, I got the cutest glasses.
