Maryam Zarei

Dr. Zarei is wonderful but the patient portal is awful. I have never once been able to successfully log in to the patient portal for Dr. Zarei. I have a very easily accessed Scripps patient portal for my other Scripps doctors but not Dr. Zarei. Nor have I been able to find an email address to communicate with the office, so sadly, the frustration is too great to continue with this office.

She spent all of 5min with me (at most). Did not take the time to listen to my issues or review my medical history to better understand my problems. Misdiagnosed me and basically told me to do breathing exercises to treat a stomach ulcer and GERD. In general, she seemed like a naturopath who is more likely to tell you to make irrelevant diet changes than to actually treat your medical problems. Additionally, her office also gave me a full allergy panel but neglected to tell me to avoid antihistamines for 24hrs before hand. When I arrived at the office, the staff asked if I had taken any antihistamines, I told them yes, and then they still did the panel. I suspect this led my results to incorrectly read negative for all items, and $1250+ later, I have no more knowledge about what I'm allergic to.

Dr. Zarei is a wonderful allergist. She is well versed in all aspects of allergies and even knowledgable about many medical issues outside of her field. She spends plenty of time with each patient and explains treatments so they are understood. Not only is she a lovely woman but her staff have been with her for a long time and they are just as helpful and caring as she is. Perla Fox

In 1999, I moved from Riverside County to San Diego County and that was when my chronic hives (urticaria) began. I was told that the cause could've been an environmental change, stress related, or perhaps food related. I have tried all different ways of treating my urticaria. Going from seeing a couple allergists to acupuncture to diet change to holistic medicine, etc. Each day I had to take 3-5 anti-histamine pills with combination of Zyrtec, Allegra, Benadryl and Claritin. Yes it works for that day/night and the cycle starts over the next day. This wasn't fun for me and it got worst each year. In 2019, I went to see Dr. Maryam Zarei, and of course I put on my front and doubt as you can imagine why. She recommended me to try Xolair. I didn't want to go there. My urticaria in 2020 and into 2021 got worse and worse. So finally I went back to see her and gave her a chance. If you're reading this, you may have come across the same as I went through my 22 years of chronic hives. Hopefully your is less. Let me tell you, please go see Dr. Maryam Zarei. She is one of the best. By having the Xolair injection every 4-7 weeks. My urticaria went away, I hope forever. I started the Xolair injection June 2021 and up to now November 2021 as I'm writing this review. I haven't had any swelling of my lips, big patches of swelling all over my body, itchiness, etc. I think you know what I meant here. Go see Dr. Zarei, this was a game/life changer for me. Bless your beautiful heart Dr. Maryam for caring and understanding my concerns. I cried to her and if I can give a million Stars to said how wonderful to NOT to have to worry about my urticaria and to said how terrific Dr. Zarei is. I would give her a million Stars rating!!!! I haven’t come across a dr yet that is so loving and caring like Dr Zarei. Her staff are very friendly and helpful . But more than anything, she has this calming and understanding energy that is so powerful. Absolutely recommend her!

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Zarei on a regular basis for more than 5 years. She is great and very knowledgeable on matters including those that are not even her specialty. If you want to get your allergy or breathing problems solved, there is no one better than Dr. Zarei. And she has a great staff.

Dr. Zarei saved my life numerous times over the years. She remembers my detailed health history. She and her staff are very efficient, caring, and well-trained. She has gone to the source of my problems both in and out of her areas of expertise.

Very bad experience here, I ended up coming out of the office in tears, I will be finding a different Doctor who does not express their personal bias.

Dr. Zarei and her staff are wonderful. She's a good detective for getting to what your issues or ailments are.

Truly an amazing woman and staff. Holistic approach was appreciated! Kid friendly office which was a bonus for me! Would highly recommend-she will help you figure out what is going on with your body.

Phenomenal team that makes you feel like you are the only patient. Dr. Zarei is also the best in the business. She has resolved so many issues for me and is now doing the same for my kids. Dr. Zarei and her team get "6" stars in my book!

I had allergy symptoms showing as hives for almost a year. Non of the family practitionersays could recognize the reason. Finally they refer me to Dr Zarei. She ordered all the diagnostic blood test and found that I have a severe Vitamin D deficiency. Ordered for a safe anti allergic medicine and vitamin D. After 2 months I didn't need anti allergic medicine any more and I am still receiving vitamin D. She is really patient and kind.and listen to you very patiently.

The staff is the best I've ever experienced. Every one in the practice works as a team with me. I get a sense that they really do care about me being well. :)

Dr. Zarei and her staff are excellent. I feel very well taken care of, and Dr. Zarei is one of those (increasingly rare) doctors that actually cares about her patients. I am not just one of the herd to be processed and billed, like some other doctors offices. I highly recommend Dr. Zarei and her staff to all.

The doctor is kind, patient, and does a good job. Her staff is a mess. Wrong prescriptions, wrong pharmacy, wrong measurements...so after things leave her hands your risk your life.

Very nice and courteous staff. Dr. Zarei is very knowledgeable and has been a great help. Would definitely recommend if you need an allergist.
