We have left several messages, including our insurance company so my mom can continue treatment but no one has returned our calls and it has been over a month. Sad way to treat patients.

I am not sure who to blame…my husband went to Dr. Higgs on Jan. 3rd for an ongoing knee issue. Dr. Higgs ordered an MRI -STAT! We went over to imaging center and when finished we were told Dr. Higgs would have results in 2 hours. Weeelll…it’s 2 weeks to the day and 7 phone calls in and have not had any response at all!! Dr. Higgs and his staff should be ashamed. I’m not done with this office…..they will hear from me by phone or in person. And it won’t be nice…I’m done with niceness.

Dr. Higgs was wonderful and his staff is personable and made Bella feel comfortable. I would highly recommend!

Dr. Higgs and his staff have always been resourceful, helpful, professional and have a great bedside manner, caring for this patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Higgs since 2019 and always been well taken care of.

The staff was efficient and kind. There were lots of people in the office and I feared it would be a long miserable wait. It was not. While I did wait, the front office staff was engaged with the patients and the seating was comfortable. The nurse and doctor I interacted with once there were very friendly. The x-ray staff was as well. My only complaint would be the cost of the physical therapy consultation and visits. They are higher than the doctor himself. The staff was efficient and kind. Dr. Higgs is very professional, competent, and friendly, however, his office staff almost never answer the phone and are very poor about returning phone calls.

Dr Higgs has always been a pleasure to go to, no long waiting and he's up front with my medical issues. I highly recommend his services to anyone.

Dr. Higgs is always concern about the pain you are in.

Dr.Higgs was very dismissive of my pain. I felt like I was treated as if I was faking my symptoms. He basically told me there wasn’t anything he could do for me after only doing X-rays. He seemed disinterested in trying to do anything further since he stated that because of my line of work and height, I will always be in pain. He had zero interest in ordering further studies to even see if things have worsened over the years since original injury to my back. My wife had to ask if there were other anti inflammatory medications that I could try to help with pain. Also my wife had to tell Dr.Higgs that the foot and ankle doctor wanted a nerve study done. He reluctantly agreed to do the study. After my wife stated how often I am waking her thru the night and moaning in my sleep from pain, he gave the anti inflammatory medications. If not for my wife, I highly doubt Dr. Higgs would have done anything. He recommended physical therapy which I have done in the past and was willing to try it again. This was the worst doctor I have ever seen. The lack of compassion for me as a patient was astounding. Dr.Higgs was very dismissive of my pain. Front staff very nice ladies. I was a bit concerned the Dr. did not even look at the shoulder except looking at the xrays. Very busy place but our needs were addressed.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Matthew Higgs for over two years. I am extremely satisfied with the care and services provided by Dr. Higgs and his staff. On my first visit I was experiencing a lot of pain and had been advised by other doctors that I needed knee replacement. Dr. Higgs reviewed my X-rays, examined my knees, diagnosed the problem and recommended treatment, gel injections, not knee replacement. I’m forever grateful to Dr Higgs. Dr Higgs has to be the least compassionate Dr I have ever met! Deserves zero stars! I have Tarlov cyst (have had cysts for12yrs now) surgery scheduled, which I have been on a waiting list for months (I have not been taking pain meds for that for over a month because the little relief I got was not worth feeling sick after 2 months of taking them). Went to see him after a slip and fall because I couldn't use my arm and it was extremely painful after 3 weeks. MRI showed a substantial tear (his words). He offered tramadol (30 pills, 3 a day, I took 2 a day) I said I would try it. I did, it helped with the achyness all day, a little less painful on bumpy car rides and I was able to get a little sleep at night. My back surgery is April 5th so I called the office to see if he could prescribe enough (8-10 pills) tramadol to get through until surgery (meaning not hurt all day, sleep at night, maybe be able to do some of the stuff I needed to do before surgery. (Keep in mind i have 2 pretty painful conditions going on at the same time) He jumped to the conclusion I meant get me through until I could get more narcotics! Labeling me a drug seeker. I am a retired nurse, during my career a drug seeker rarely ask for tramadol and do not take as prescribed! If he thought I was a drug seeker he could have easily had someone call the pharmacy to see how often I had gotten prescriptions for pain meds!! I have been In TX 6 years so probably 3 to 4 times (shingles, Tarlov cyst flair up and torn rotator cuff). He thought my neurosurgeon in Dallas should order my pain meds for a shoulder injury . Great Dr. Cares about patients. No long wait. Highly recomend.

I have had knee issue for some time now. I have seen other doctors in the past but was not satisfied with there vision with me knee. I was recommended to Dr. Higgs and after visiting him a few time is like what I hear and my progress is getting better. I like that fact the he listens to my needs and assist me with care. My knee is felling better and we have plans to eliminate or mitigate the pain that I have. I am happy with Dr. Higgs and I will strongly recommend him to my friends and family. Also as a bonus when I go to the office I never have to wait long to see the doctor. I'm in and out. I have had knee issue for some time now. Dr Higgs was a great doctor he helped me and and he also listened to me

Question: does Dr. Higgs has a magic wand? I couldn't imagine that there is anything can relieve my back pain without surgery... I am so happy to choose him for my treatment.

Dr. Higgs is, of course, knowledgeable…but what sets him apart from others is the manner in which he delivers pertinent information. He presents it in layman’s terms clearly and personal to your injury. He projects and summarizes, reassures and comforts.

Dr Higgs has great communication skills, he listens to your problem then informs you of the actions required to proceed in correcting the issue. Dr Higgs makes you feel that he is concerned about your wellness and demonstrates through support and action.

Dr. Higgs is so helpful with pain management and the office is very efficient.

The doctor was very professional. He assessed my problem areas and made suggestions on how to move forward. We discussed my test results and agreed to plan for surgery. The visit felt a bit rushed. I had x-rays taken at the office before Dr Higgs came in to see me, but there was no mention of the x-rays or how they compared to those taken at the same office a few years ago. He was gone before I could ask about the x-rays.

He has been treating my knee for several years. Does fine work

I have been seeing Dr. Higgs for a while now and he is a very good doctor, he has taken care of all of the pains that I have brought to him, His staff has helped set up appointments with other doctors in the facility when needed as well, they have all gone above and beyond.

I have been going to Dr Higgs for a few years. He is always professional, answers my questions, suggest ways to help my problem and its easy in and out.

Dr. Higgs is incredible. Not only has he taken great care of my shoulder pain, but he is great to converse with at every appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor who combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming his patient!

Multiple visits with Dr. Higgs. Very patient. Willing to engage in detailed dialogue on situation in effort to understand issues and educate the patient on possible solutions!
