Dr. Matthew L. Logan

After my long time dentist recently retired I knew it was time to get settled in somewhere local with a new dentist so I scheduled with Dr. Logan, due to a tooth causing me pain and I needed to get back on track with regular cleanings and exams. I had my first appointment just fine, scheduled a cleaning which I missed because I TRULY forgot (because I’m human) and because I was busy taking care of my two year old who had croup. I never called to reschedule the cleaning. Fast forward a month, I have a tooth bothering me so I call to get on the schedule to have it checked out and Sheila the receptionist starts giving me sass about me missing my cleaning appointment, which is totally fine but the way she was speaking to me was unacceptable. She also tells me if I would keep up on my routine dental visits I wouldn’t be having a tooth issue. Keep in mind I’m not not keeping up on my routine dental care because I don’t feel like it, it’s because I’m terrified of dental work and have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I get my appointment scheduled and as we get off the phone I have a bad taste in my mouth about the office due to the way Sheila spoke to me. I decided to take a chance and call around to other offices in Brooklyn to see if maybe hopefully someone else can get me in today. I was into a new office getting a cleaning, all X-rays, and an exam within 30 minutes of the phone call. I then call back to Dr. Logan’s office to let them know I will be canceling my appointment, and once again Sheila gets sassy telling me “it’s very rude of me to schedule and then cancel” blah blah blah “they are so busy rescheduling people due to the power outage” - whatever. I get it, and that’s fine for her to feel that way, but to speak to someone that way who was a patient is very unprofessional and down right rude. It’s very sad that this office has someone so condescending and lacking people skills in the front of the office for everyone to deal with, especially because I really enjoyed Dr. Logan, his care, and his hygienist. I can see from other reviews I am not the first person to leave this office due to the receptionist, and I’m fully expecting a rude reply back to this review. Thanks. Best of luck to this office in the future ???? As I said, I fully anticipated a rude reply ???? Being an office that’s been open for so long you’d think you’d be a little more understanding to people having last minute things going on. Also, who calls to make an appointment reminder TWO WEEKS before said appointment? I’ve never in my life had someone call so early for a reminder. What’s the point of calling 14 days ahead? As the previous review stated you called them the day before their appointment ti remind them so it seems there’s a scheduling issue. Sorry you lost money I suppose. Back to the main issue, your receptionist and face of the entire office is rude. ????

Who likes going to the dentist(not many). I'm not saying I like it, what I am saying is I dont mind it. Dr. Logan and his staff is the only reason. Dr. Logan is 1st class, amazing, professional & very thorough! His staff is also 1st class & amazing (way to go ladies). Thanks to all them the anxious feelings I get always seem to be a waste of time! Very comforting feeling! Thanks so much to all of you!!! For others, no need to look further!!!

I started taking my three daughters here because my grandparents go here and always had the best things to say about Dr. Matthew. Unfortunately , we no longer go here due to his very unprofessional receptionist pretty sure her name is Sheila or something close to that. She called a day prior to an appointment to verify which I did forget this appointment and she went on to tell me how very irresponsible I am and how all I do is cancel appointments and continued to argue with me on the phone for about 20 minutes while I have my grandma and my kids in the car with me, she was yelling so loud my grandma could hear her. Which I am confused about, if I cancelled so many times why wasn't it brought to my attention before? There has NEVER been a time I came in and this " issue" was talked about.Anytime I have every had to " cancel" was due to a sickness or car issues and I didn't reach anyone so I would leave a message to cancel, with that being said I would ALWAYS ALWAYS call back to reschedule. Its pretty sad because Dr. Matthew was so nice and really made my girls feel comfortable and my youngest daughter has a space maintainers which Dr Matthew put on and now we have to go find another place that can continue to service this. My grandma came in today to make an appointment and the receptionist told my grandma my kids are no longer welcome there " because their mother is very irresponsible". Its unfortunate that one person can mess up a whole families experience seeing as how now my grandparents will now be looking for a new dentist to go to also. UPDATED TO YOUR RESPONSE: yes I did state I was going somewhere else AFTER I WAS BEING DISRESPECTED and you are full of lies, NO ONE EVER brought it to my attention UNTIL our conversation in march but of course its your word against mine right?! What a Joke!!!!! And if you read the comment I did say my children were treated well. But whatever I know you will say whatever to make you business look good!! I will definitely continue to spread the word on your " great" business hahaha

Dr. Logan has always been great to my family!! He has sponsored our sports team. Recently my son had an issue with an extraction and Dr. Logan quickly responded back on a Sunday and on a holiday. Very blessed to have Dr. Logan as our family dentist!!!

My family and I been coming to doctor Logan for years. He does great work and he's always available for an emergency. His staff are great and his secretary Shelia is always super friendly.

I went to Dr Logan in 1991 for an emergent visit, because my aunt said he “…is a polite young man and he never hurts me”. I hated dentists. I planned for it to be “one and done”. Dr Logan and the hygienist Diane are so awesome! “One and done” turned into every six months for over thirty years. A couple emergent visits and a couple fillings later, I’m not afraid of dentists anymore. Not much has changed in the office. Dr Logan is still a polite young man (younger than my aunt anyway ????) and he doesn’t hurt me. Dr Logan, Diane, and the entire staff are amazing. Going to the dentist is like visiting old friends. I had two teeth pulled and still cannot believe how quick and easy it was. Everyone was very kind and made me feel comfortable right away.

This is a very friendly and knowledgeable team. I like to ask a lot of questions to any professional in regards to their profession, and after a bit of brain picking its clear that this team knows exactly how to make your smile look great.

This is how the doctor writes to you on statements. This is the first statement I received. They are very unprofessional and also do a horrible job on teeth fillings I would not use them for anything being seen after. As fillings or anything for that matter. He can pull a tooth and that’s about it. My fillings look like garbage

Not only did Dr. Mathews refuse to crown my root canal, he also wrote me to threatened to send me to collections even though I made all my payments on time. The root canal lasted three weeks before it fell out. very rude and poor service.

(Edit update) since the covid they aren't letting parents in with minor children. This is very unsettling as a parent. I really think I may take my children elsewhere. From now on. Well i get stressed when i go to the dentist!! But Dr Logan and his asst. Julie were great!! Thankyou for everything that you did!! especially during these trying times!!

Dr. Logan is incredibly professional and skillfully provides only the NEEDED work without trying to push for anything extra. His staff is comforting and supportive. I would highly recommend this dental office to a friend or acquaintance. I've been a patient for 30 years and am still impressed by how little I feel when receiving a numbing shot before getting a filling or anything else done. I find logan and his staff,to be profestioal but what im bothered about is i had appmnt..and didnt re ieve a phone message they are closed due to coved 19 i drove there a nd they where closed ,they have a sign call before 24 hrs. To cancell app.nt or ylu will be chardged 50$ buy rites they owe me 50$ they didnt call me. They may even charge for an appmnt missed but i know they charge . We have been patients of Dr. Logans for 20 plus years. When our son broke his tooth on a Friday night Dr. Logan met us at the office and repaired it. He went above and beyond and I will always be grateful! His hygienist Diane and Julie his assistant are top notch! I've never had to wait for more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. Great dentist who is very trustworthy. I have been to other dentist who have done work that was not needed. I have been able to trust that he has my best interests at heart. He is also great with my kids and they love coming to see him.

Perhaps the most honest dentist out there. He will not sell you on anything you don't need. He has always had a focus on preventative care of your teeth and gums. Due to that fact I can't comment on his ability to do major work as I have never even had a cavity (no thanks to my genetics, parents had horrible teeth)! I've been going to Dr. Logan for 20 something years, I wouldn't go anywhere else!! Dr. Logan, Julie & Diane are so friendly & comforting, you quickly forget you are even at the dentist. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And they love fur babies :)

Dr. Matt and his team are professional, friendly and have a soft side. My 5 kids, since they were 2, and I all get seen by him and his staff! They make us laugh, show kindness, and are accurate everytime. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone of any age....

Dr. Logan is a great dentist and has a wonderful staff! They are always quick to get us in and treat us like family. I can't say enough about how amazing they are with kids, mine actually get excited about going to the dentist! Highly recommend!

Matt has been my dentist and Diane my hygienist since he started his practice back in the 80's. I feel like family there, friendly, professional, and caring. He has kept the same staff since he opened with very few changes. Love the pictures of the kids on the walls, my sons pics are up there from the 80's. Prices are fair and doesn't do unnecessary work. Matthew Logan has been my dentist for my entire life. He is honest in his work and is very knowledgeable when I ask questions about my dental care. Diane, my hygienist, does fantastic work. I highly recommend this office.

I have 3 young children and after being turned away from bringing my children with me to cleanings from other dentists, I was very behind on my routine oral maintenance. Dr. Logan and his staff are amazing. They keep my kids occupied and told me "just lay back and relax, we will take care of them." I can't say enough wonderful things about them. Dr. Logan is a great dentist with a great team. I'm very satisfied.

I feel like the Dentist should spend more than 15 seconds looking into my mouth before telling me everything looks okay. Also scheduling is a nightmare if you have to reschedule. One of the hygienists also called me vain because I asked her about whitening and straightening my teeth.
