Melinda Lee Ruff

I have seen Dr.Ruff since I moved to Centerville 5 years ago. She was originally recommended to me by my previous family doctor. She has been a true blessing! My kids loove her! My son has seen her since the day he was born! Not only is she a great physician, She has excellent bedside manor! We will really miss her when she starts her new job! Been with her for over 5 years now. Could not be happier.

Dr Ruff is the best-she listens with patience. She is thorough and the staff are great as well.

Dr. Melinda Ruff continues to be an incredibly gifted primary care provider. She listens to my concerns, does a thorough examination, and provides outstanding care. My wife and I have recommended her to our friends, who agree with my assessment of her.

Excellent doctor and helped me a lot with an issue I was having.

If I could give ZERO stars I WOULD! Dr. Ruff is RUDE and did not listen to my concerns. She actually blew them off when they turned out to be very serious. As a physician it is her responsibility to make sure that she is monitoring her patients side effects of the medication that she is prescribing!!!!!! When I told her that my side effects were alarming she blew it off! This was the LAST visit with her and i never returned. TERRIBLE!

Dr.Ruff is a great Family Physician. I even convinced my husband to switch doctors to Dr. Ruff because of my experiences. The whole office staff has been great, too.

Dr Melinda Ruff is amazing! She was recommended by my cardiologist and other healthcare workers who know her well and are her patients. She is very knowledgable, kind and patient. Never feel rushed. Good listener and wellness advocate. Physician for my elderly mother and always takes time to meet her needs. Uses antibiotics responsibly. Have recommended Dr. Ruff to many friends and all are pleased to call her their primary care physician. Husband and I feel blessed to have a great MD to trust and watch over us!

First visit with Dr. Ruff. She was friendly yet professional. Answered all my questions and was thorough. Many issues addressed.

I honestly think Dr Dre would have a better bedside-manner than this Dr. She was one of the most rudest unempathetic, doctors I have ever met. She talks down to you like you are beneath her and when you explain to her your concerns she blows them off as if how youre feeling doesnt matter. She will have you leaving her office feeling like you should have felt bad for wasting her precious time. I know drs are busy, but I dont know how she could be. She barely will spend 5mins on hearing your symptoms. I dont know about you but if I was on my death bed I would be less concerned about how pretty my doctor was and more concerned with how much he/she cared for my health.

I was very very unhappy with Dr Ruff. I was very sick on a consistant basis and had over 6 appointments with Dr Ruff desperate to find out what was going on with me. Dr Ruff downplayed everything I was going through and imlplyed it was all in my head. I decided to find treatment with another doctor, only to be diagnosed with fibromyalga and several other things. If youre looking for a doctor to take your health concerns seriously, shes definitely not the one to do it. If you have the right insurance you might have a better experience I dont know. I would even give her 1* but you have to put at least 1* in the review as required to submit a review.

Dr. Ruff one of the best Family Doctor in Dayton area.

I love Dr. Ruff and her staff. She is a very competent physician and always takes time to answer any questions I have. Her medical assistant is very nice and helpful, too. I would recommend Dr. Ruff to anyone!!

I would not recommend Dr. Melinda Ruff. As a doctor she was very superficial and did not care to look deeper for the root of my issues. I was initially referred to Dr. Ruff by the emergency room for a follow up and after two visits she asked me to find a different doctor. I felt she did not want to help me resolve my issues because it would have required more than just throwing a prescription at me; I did not fit in with her normal patients who were mostly elderly and I imagine it does not take too much effort for her to write prescriptions for them. The front desk staff is also a bit off-putting and completely reflects the Dr. Ruff's demeanor.

RUFF is uncaring. Had migraine for two weeks straight and was told that was normal when asked for a CT or MRI scan she told me you that she would not approve having it done knowing that I have a family history of Aneurysms due to migraines ( http://www.brainaneurysm.com/symptoms) on top of having symptoms. Was surprised that a doctor would deny anyone asking for something of that sort.

My husband and I found Dr. Melinda Ruff to be a most caring, knowledgeable doctor! She listened to us carefully, which we appreciate, being senior citizens. She treated us with respect and courtesy. Her staff were very nice and helpful and her medical assistant Marcus was polite and helpful and gave a great flu shot. Dr. Ruff probably talked to us more in one visit than our old doctor did in two years and we feel that she really cares. We did not have to wait long and everything was well organized. I would recommend this doctor and staff to anyone who wants a caring doctor, which is hard to find these days.

Office staff is difficult and rude. Next to impossible to communicate with your physician or get their office to OK a prescription refill. Dr. Ruff is distant and uncaring. Medical assistant is unkempt and seems unsanitary.

One of the most uncaring doctors I have used. Dr. Ruff seems like she is always in a hurry to go on to the next patient. Did not answer my phone inquiries concerning an illness or an affliction. Dit not seem to care or want to help or be bothered. I would go without a doctor if I had to see Dr. Ruff. Need sensitivity training.

CONs: Does not listen to patient opinions about medical issues. Does not take enough time to answer questions. Dismissive and gives patient slim to no choice regarding direction of treatment. Very "Get In, Get Out". PROs: Same day appointments. Located in associated hospital. Modern, nice, clean facilities. This is only one rating, but myself and 2 family members agree with this description.
