Just went in for a minor incident- my teenage son broke his leg. I was disappointed Dr.Darnell isn't there anymore (retired), but we liked Dr Shank. He's very kind and has been doing orthopedic surgery a long time. Roberto Alexander (Bobby) is the P.A. and he is awesome too & great with kids. The front office staff is knowledgeable & friendly. I'm glad I didn't listen to our family practice staff because when my son got hurt, they told me we might have to wait for up to 2 weeks to get a referral for approval for ortho to do a cast. "What the...? My kid is expected to lay perfectly still for two weeks while he waits for a cast?" Lol But the front office here got my son in right away and took care of all of that headache of an insurance referral. This doc sux,, I went in with horrible knee pain,, I had already had arthroscopic in 1995 [ my meniscus is gone],,, so the knee got worse and worse,, then I go to this quack,, he takes some xrays and tell me to go join a gym and work out,,, HEY F**K you so I go to a real doc in the valley and within 2 months I had Partial Knee replacement [Makoplasty] and now I'm pain free and running and walking and it's only bee 8 months since the surgery,, I was fully mobile in less that a couple weeks,,, so to anyone considering this idiot Darnell,,, Look elsewhere!! My opinion? Don't go to him. Partial left shoulder replacement Nov. 2014. It's 6 months later and my shoulder is worse than it was before Darnell got to it. More pain. Less and less usage.Feels like he put some kind of Tinkertoy prosthetic in.The best thing he did pre and post surgery was to make sure I bought a ton of Ex Strength Tylenol.
