Dr. Michael Gillespie

Just returned from a visit with Dr. Mike and staff. My dentist retired and his replacement stated that I needed something unnecessary. When you find an honest caregiver/dentist you best hang on to them. Quality care and service are my top priority and Dr. Mike and his crew fit the bill!

Glad I found these folks! Very pleased with the work they do and staff is amazing and kind! I highly recommend them if you need a dental attention.

Dr Gillespie has been my dentist since I moved to Sylva NC in the late 1990s. He and everyone in his practice have always provided professional, respectful, and friendly care. Impeccable. I completely trust and highly recommend them to you.

The crown he put on fell apart and he wanted $4,000 up front to schedule a replacement. Most would think an honest professional would stand by his work. Office worker too lazy to stay on hold to verify my insurance. Surly staff. Very unprofessional.

My bi-annual cleaning was gentle and thorough as usual. Dr. G is always pleasant and efficient and I was happy not to have any dental issues. The entire office staff is friendly and efficient. If you need a dentist in Waynesville, this is the place!

I started going for treatment 11/21, had x-rays, treatment plan. no work done. 300$+ 2nd visit more x-rays 1 extraction done. plan for next visit to be for fillings. as per perio Dr's advice. 3rd visit, he wants to crown a broken tooth, root canal and schedule bridge. I told him no, as i expected to have at least one cavity fixed. new treatment plan made, no work done. 4th visit, today, in the chair planning on them doing the 2 fillings previously requested by my periodontist says oh let me consult with dr, and work up another treatment plan. I ask why is this not being done, she says oh you're only scheduled 45 mins, not scheduled for fillings... NO more. 4 visits since last Nov. 4 charges, then to kick it off the new treatment plan has 4fillings listed at 1400$!! NO I DONT RECOMMEND THEM. I used to hate going to the dentist but since going to Dr. Gillespie, it's very easy and somewhat relaxing! Won't say it's my favorite thing to do but I don't dread it anymore.

From the moment you walk in the door til you are walking out, smiles around. So efficient, very caring & so gracious. Only a few of the ways you can describe this office! I'd like to be able to say that the care and attention I received in your office was great but that was not the case. The care and attention i received was nothing short of outstandingly excellent. I thank all those I encountered for their professionalism, courtesy and friendliness during my last 2 visits. I was able to have much more accomplished for my dental health than I would ever dare imagine. Not only did you provide all that was necessary for my initial (first) visit but you also were able to slide me in for a long overdue cleaning on that same day. Thank you all so very much. Very friendly and professional staff! They took care of all my dental needs.

Love the service this whole team provides. I went in for a chipped front tooth and absolutely nothing was uncomfortable about my visit. I never experienced any pain or discomfort. Was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Very prompt and organized service and staff. I would never consider going elsewhere for my dental needs.

Everything about my visit today was beyond 5 stars. Wendy, Kelli, and Megan were all so warm and friendly! Dr. Gillespie is top notch. I look forward to coming back for all my dental needs. My teeth have found a home ;) Thank you everyone for really treating me like royalty!

He refused to provide any kind of first impression based on the 1 year old xrays provided and current examination, other than to immediately state the need for several crowns. The office is impeccable, the people efficient, courteous and friendly. My hygienist, Megan, gave me a painless and thorough cleaning. I couldn't wait to meet the doctor and I was not disappointed. The dentist is rude and unprofessional and he appears to encourage such behavior in his staff. If you are a newcomer looking for a new dentist please be aware that there are PLENTY of good dentists in the surrounding area. This snotty old misogynist needs to retire.

I needed a crown replacement and came here for second opinion. Found out they make the crowns in office so no temporary crown. It was all done professionally in a short time and seems to fit perfectly. Changing my yearly care to them.

I moved to Waynesville May 2019 and kept putting off finding a new dentist. The unpopped kernel in some Kettle Corn pushed the search up after I broke an existing crown. I found Dr. Gillespie on the web and the ratings were good so I called. I went this morning and walked out with a brand new crown. I lived in NYC for 15 years and was never able to get a new crown in one day. The best part is everyone in the practice was so nice. You feel like your are their most important patient. I am very sorry I had the extra cost of a broken crown at Christmas but very glad I found Dr Gillespie's office as I now have a new dentist! Dr. Gillespie is not my regular dentist, but I was visiting the area and had an abscessed wisdom tooth that needed attention. After being turned down by several other practices, this office made an appointment for me right away. The entire staff was very welcoming, and the problem was taken care of right away at a very reasonable cost. I’ve been going to this dentist for about 8 years now, moved here from Georgia. They are SO nice, all of them!! They are incredibly welcoming and don’t judge. I’ve always felt so comfortable that even after moving from Waynesville to Tuckasegee I still travel there, and even recently had my husband go a couple times and he loved his experiences. Mehgan did the most gentle cleaning I've ever experienced, and everyone in the office was nice as can be. Have already scheduled my next appointment. Everyone at Dr G's office is outstanding! Absolutely the Best customer service and care. Robin did a wonderful job at cleaning my teeth today, and I actually look forward to my next appointment....it is that Great of an experience at Dr Gillespie's.

As a person who has dreaded going to the dentist their whole life, I can honestly say that this was the most pleasant dentist visit I've ever experienced. From the beginning with scheduling my visit, to being greeted by Wendy as soon as I walked in the door, to my *nearly* painless cleaning (can't ask for more than that! haha) and great conversation with Robin, to my new patient exam with Kelli, and to finally to meeting Dr. Gillespie - I was more than satisfied with my visit from start to finish. What a happy and welcoming office and group of employees. Moving to a new state is hard with trying to find new doctors, dentists, etc., but I'm happy I nailed it on the first try. Great staff and dentist. I have had extensive dental work by Dr. Gillespie and I am very satisfied. Just finished my appoint with Robin who was very attentive and gentle. Answered all the questions that I had. The staff is wonderful as is Dr. Gillespie.

I want to thank Dr. Gillespie and the wonderful staff at his office. They have been the representation of great professional team that works very well together for the best outcome for the patient. I moved to the area a little over 2 years ago and had yet to find a Dentist. I drove buy Dr. Gillespie's office and I saw a huge "Thank You" banner on the front of the office, Thanking the community for voting their office Best in Haywood! I thought " that's good enough for me!" Well, all I can say is "They ARE THE BEST!!" Started with Stephanie who was so sweet ( which was great because I was nervous) :) she did my xrays and showed them to me while she was making her notes etc. My time her relaxed me, so that when I went to Robin I was READY for my teeth cleaning ( which hasn't been done in years!) Robin just like Stephanie walked me through each step before she did it! She was funny too! Which totally takes you mind off of everything. Then came Dr. Gillespie. So kind, professional & patient, I felt comfortable knowing I was in good hands!! From the moment I walked in I felt at home. Dr. Gillespie and his staff are Amazing! The front office staff always greets me with a smile and I can't say enough about my hygienist, Robin! Dr. Gillespie and his entire office are absolutely amazing! They make you feel welcome the minute you walk through the door. I have the pleasure of seeing Robin when I'm in for my cleanings and she is always so easy to talk to and does a great job explaining everything that is going on as she is doing it.
