I don't know why the raiting score isn't higher over all. Dr Gray is a great Dr and his practice is the place to go for the most thorough labwork and patient care available in Arizona.
Dr Michael Gray is NOT WORTH THE WAIT. He is too old and hopefully retires.
Dr. Gray is worth the wait. One of the most knowledgeable physicians I know. He has been one of my specialists for the past 19 years. You’ve heard the phrase, “the best of the best!” Well that phrase describes Dr. Gray. Yes, I’ve had to wait and yes, I’ve been rescheduled however waiting is minor compared to the specific scientific information I receive. Dr. Gray’s staff are always courteous and kind. They know my name and they know who I am. This is important to me. I recommend Dr. Gray highly and can assure you from my 19 year experience as his patient he is worth the wait.
He made me sit all day in his office even though my appointment was at 10:00 a.m. he never did give me a diagnosis. He charged Medicare twice for the visit and all of the tests he made. Parentheses I reported this to Medicare and they reversed it. He's got some kind of head problem.
Dr Gray is one of the few doctors with a lot of experience treating mold and toxicity related conditions, and that also accepts insurance for payment. Because the treatment is so time consuming for the doctor, most such docs accept cash only or have special additional membership fees on top of insurance and many charge exhorbitant fees - Dr Gray just takes your insurance and does what he needs to do for you. He is a rare patient's advocate in my opinion, who understands the widespread and unacknowledged role of toxins in causing poor health and disability. His theory of chemical hypertoxicity makes so much sense and I believe he understands how the body systems can be restored after degradation by toxic overload. He helped me recover from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/CFS (that's what most of the medical community would call it but they have no idea what to do about it). Dr Gray (and another mold doc I have worked with) say that 90% of their CFS and Fibromyalgia patients are suffering from hypertoxicity, often from mold. Unfortunately for those of us with the genetic susceptibility to mold illness (about 25% of people), the larger society and medical community are extremely resistant to truly confronting the specter of the impacts of mold and chemicals on health because it would cost so much to remedy the situation on a large scale. The downside to seeing to Dr Gray have been mentioned by many other reviewers: you do often have to wait a long time, sometimes hours, to see him. The office staff I have found to be kind and professional. Dr Gray's demeanor can seem a bit gruff at times, but his prickliness is not directed at the patient but at the system that he sees screwing over so many people how are ailing unnecessarily. I do highly recommend Dr Gray if you have unexplained systemic pain, fatigue or other mysteries that other doctors have not been able to address, just be prepared to wait - isn't your health worth it? First, I am not a patient of Dr. Gray. My companion is his patient and I have gone with her several times recently and have sat in on her visits with him. The waiting times to see him are outrageously long, even when appointments are early morning. My partner doesn't seem concerned, though, as she believes he is helping her. Dr. Gray is preoccupied with mold and environmental toxicity. He will spend a great deal of time lecturing patients on these items and his regimen for identifying and treating their origins, in spite of the patient's particular aiilment that day which is the reason for their visit. In fact, just about any ailment you have, Dr. Gray seems to relate it as due to mold or environment. Your problem can easily become lost in the dust of his preoccupation with the issues I have mentioned. He has an enormous patient load and a staff obviously overbooked day in and day out. The rudeness of his receptionist can be understandable as she is constantly bombarded with phone calls, complaints and inquiries from those in the waiting room, etc. Patients seem to either love or hate him. My companion is willing to tolerate the poor organization and long waits in exchange for what she feels is beneficial to her health. Others who are looking for conventional medical care would do well to seek a different physician. Unfortunately, new patients will have to learn this by experience. Such is "small town medicine". My "2" rating is a little low as I would prefer a more neutral rating of 2 and 1/2 stars out of 5. Update 9/18/19 My companion recently decided to leave Dr. Gray's care after he has continually shown little interest in being her general practitioner and seems to be more focused on his research into toxins and less concerned with the specific problems that patients have. She finally realized this when he took her off of a drug that she has been on for years because...well...it is a drug and not the homeopathic solutions that he usually prescribes. She has suffered because of this and successfully sought out another physician who is interested in helping individual patients according to their needs. She is so much better now. It is a shame that so many people continue to rely on Gray as their primary physician. First, I am not a patient of Dr. Gray. I was tolerant for two years as his patient. Some long hour waits for him to see you. The longest was 6 hours after I had to reschedule the last appointment after waiting three hours. Staff would never give you an estimate of time so you could possibly run errands while you waited. Waiting room is very uncomfortable and dirty. The last visit was the last straw. Three of us were well past our appointment time. Staff already left and went home. He was expounding upon his political views and how awful our armed services were in this country. Yes we could hear every word he said to the patients in the room with him. Obviously no regards to HEPPA laws. All 3 of us decided to leave. We knocked on the door of the room he was in and he instructed us to reschedule. I tried to reschedule and he refused to afternoons with me forcing me to do a mornings. Then he sent a letter telling me I would no longer be his patient because I could not wait long hours so he could give quality care??? SMH!!!

Please stop this Dr from hurting more people. I dreaded the horrible experience I was forced to endure at Dr Gray s hand. Sraight up let my right arm degenerate into paralysis. Got dizzy and fell a lot. Lost forty pounds in a month. Stood at the counter- with a fuzzy head asking for help. Btw I was there for a scheduled appt.-- I was asked to leave. 3 times i asked them to please help me ... " you re my dr., please help me." " I have an appt., I'll pay cash." As i paid cash the previos ten years. At time of incident, i had insurance. I was litterally made to leave without service or treatment . That guy put my health, livelihood and general well being into a fn fiasco, which 17 months later, i am still medically sorting out with local healthcare professionals who DO care. Ha ha -- I lived to tell about it Dr Gray. Please stop this Dr from hurting more people. I dreaded the horrible experience I was forced to endure at Dr Gray s hand. I had to call 3-4 times before I was able to get someone to answer during their business hours. I chatted with the individual who answered about the fact that I am out of state, and wanted to do a remote consultation with Dr. Gray. She said that was fine, they just needed a referral. So, I had my current MD send over a referral. I didn't hear from anyone and called back again 4 days later. Then I was told the first individual 'messed up', because a chart must be created for patients that are referred. So, she created charts for myself and my 2 kids and told me to have my current MD re-send the referrals. Then she told me Dr. Gray does not do remote consultations, under any circumstances, and has not done them for years. It very well may be that Dr. Gray is a wonderful practitioner, but the incompetence of the office staff is difficult to overlook. When I first went there he was good, got diagnosed with mold issues, everything made sense! The wait time is awe! His staff need to manage his appointments much better! Waiting up to five hours is way too much! When I asked if I could see a rheumatoid specialist , he said the waiting was a year, I understood that, but he still refused to send me to one. I wanted to go to a pain specialist, again he refused to send me to one! If you made an appointment as first appointment of day, others still went ahead of you, and then if you said anything to staff or head management they made me like I was worthless and a trouble maker. When I disagreed with Dr Grey, he Telkar at me, like was worthless! If I took his required medication for toxins (Charcoal tablets daily on a scheduled basic) my other doctors would refuse to treat me. When he started screaming at me, that was the time I decided to get a new doctor even though I lived in Benson! Upon Seeing a rheumatoid specialist I found out I needed specialized medication he could not give me, and I was able to see a pain specialist due to my chronic conditions! If i wanted to make an appointment, I would literally have to go into the office to make an appointment, because they don’t answer their phones (although when you want to talk to the office staff at the window, they will get on the phone and make you wait, or they are on the phone and they don’t acknowledge you! ) I have sent other people their to get diagnosed for toxins, he is good at that, but must take the whole person! Ultimately, I’m disappointed as I really liked him! He would have gotten 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ???? ⭐️ even waiting I understood he was busy. But, he needs to treat the whole person, not yell at clients (me in particular, I also have friend who he yelled at) and be professional! Conclusion: he won’t be practicing his profession much longer as he is getting on in age, and some people are actually waiting for this to happen! (From what I understand ) It’s sad, because he diagnosed me and I was happy, just not happy with the wait and the belittling from him and his staff! His good staff left to find new employment! I was sad to see them go! I was a patient for 3-4 years I want to say! When I first went there he was good, got diagnosed with mold issues, everything made sense! The wait time is awe! Excellent doctor in my opinion , helps people get better . shame on Arizona for taking authority away from doctors and Shame on Arizona healthcare cost containment system # shame on insurance for overriding doctors RX !
Dr Gray was the only doctor I have seen to finally explain what is wrong with me, and how to not got so sick in the future.
Good at first, refused to send me to a pain doctor or a rheumatoid specialist. If you disagree he will tell at you. Waiting time is five hours or more! (Sometimes less, Staff need to do appointments so that people are not waiting) Went somewhere else, and saw rheumatoid specialist , confirmed I needed extra medication for a condition I was treated for by Doc Grey.
Dr Gray saved my life! I almost died! Many doctors are not trained to look for chemical and mold toxicity! Dr Gray is very knowledgeable!Yes, he goes through great detail about what you(as his patient)is going through but, if you truly give him the time to hear him out and go through his protocols, you will get better. People with mold and chemical toxicity issues have a lot of brain fog and are unable to understand everything that has happened to them. Their emotions and physiology are all over the place so having a doctor who is willing to care for every aspect of you and explain things in great detail is very rare and needed. Most docs don’t do that. As a result, many patients have an unrealistic understanding of what’s professional and what’s not. Doctors today are so ready to put you on many drugs. Patients are overloaded with drugs and, because of drug interactions and doctors lack of training In pharmaceuticals, patients die. Not Dr Gray! He’s the best in his field!
Dr. Gray is very knowledgable re: biotoxin illness. He really cares about his patients and will do what it takes to help them get the info. they need to get well. He is willing to consider new info. He will go toe to toe with insurance companies and is willing to get involved with disability cases. Not a run of the mill kind of person.

If there was a way to enter a negative rating, I would do that. Dr. Gray covered for my doctor when he had to go out of town. Dr. Gray nor his staff ever returned my call when I was suffering from very painful muscle spasms in my neck, even tho my doctor practiced in that same clinic told me to call Dr. Gray if I had any medical emergency come up. I had run out of refills for my muscles relaxer, and I guess he couldn't be bothered to call in a refill or have his staff contact me. If there was a way to enter a negative rating, I would do that. Dr Gray himself is nice and seems knowledgeable, but the wait time is out of hand. 3 hours? Really? He likes to take time with his patients, which is really cool, but if that's the case he needs to not book so many people. Time management please..

I have been a patient here for over a year. the people are nice and helpful and always do their best to help. sometimes people have unreasonable requests or expect too much from a small office like this one. Yes it is sometimes difficult to be seen quickly, but it's a small office with a ton of patients. That is normal. That is everywhere. The entire time I saw Dr. Gray he never once did a physical exam on me. I had a stroke and developed a nerve disease and he told me not to worry about it, it would go away. I got worse and he refused to prescribe me pain medication, but he gave me a Certificate for Medical Marijuana. I asked how can I use marijuana when I have COPD. I went to a dispensary and was told there that they also did not understand either. I was back in his office with severe bronchitis 1 week later.
Worst office I've ever had to deal with. I called to set up an appt over 2 weeks ago... they said they'd call me back the same day to set it up. Never called me. I called again 2 days later and they said they'd call me again that day!!! Again no call back. This office is beyond ridiculous and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. I had gotten lupus from mold exposure and moved here to Tucson just to see him since he suppose to be a specialist... and they just ignore me and treated me like I didn't matter. I WILL NEVER CONTACT THIS PLACE AGAIN and neither should you if you care about your health! Worst office I've ever had to deal with. Grey's staff is very unprofessional. It is typical to wait 3 to 7 hours to be seen by Dr. Grey. After my first visit, I knew to bring reading materials, cancel all appointments for the day to spend my day in his waiting room. After that, I always scheduled to be his first patient, but even that became an issue. After several people went in front of me, I inquired at the front desk only to be ridiculed and berated for asking about my scheduled appointment. The female receptionist always had an unpleasant attitude and at one point yelled at me and then gossiped/conspired with her coworkers to the point I was told to leave. I would not recommend this doctor or his staff for anyone. Go to Tucson where there are more professional offices to choose from. Grey's staff is very unprofessional. it takes over an hour to even get into the patients room. then another half hour before he see's you. then he's quick to listen to your concerns about your health and then quickly ignors them and tries to get you on his charcoal pill program to "cleanse" your body, and makes you take unnessesary blood work twice a year! been there 8 yrs and no doctor there has even given me a physical when I asked.

I have recently moved to a small community East of Tucson. My previous doctor had retired, I knew nothing about Dr. Gray. Upon my first visit to his offices I can say that I was entirely satisfied. The staff was professional, very conscientious and polite. Audrey Gray PA-C examined me thoroughly, showed me diagrams of what might be causing my chronic back pain, offered me the opportunity to enroll in a physical therapy class and listened very well to my concerns. I highly recommend them.

He spent over an hour or more talking to me about mold exposure. I have absolute faith in this man as he is well informed and the preeminent expert on mold in Southern Arizona. Had a great bedside manner and was thorough in his explanation regarding my condition.
