Michael L. Komin

I drive 40 miles just to receive care from Dr Komin. That's how good of a physician I feel he is. It's his receptionist staff that is so rude. Bad enough to raise my blood pressure before being seen. A new person I'd never seen before, and I have to go in once every month. For someone, like myself who has mental illness issues, it was quite triggering today for me. And, it lasted until I got out of the parking lot to go home. Having to take time just to go see a doctor, isn't a favorite for most people. Add the rudeness from a receptionist's, so called welcome, isn't a perk to ones well being either. I don't want to find another doctor, but I sure as hell won't keep my mouth shut, if it happens again. And, if it does, I will take it personal. Because my name will be shown and the review be made public, I will consider it discrimination. I already feel like it was anyways. Attitude, for no good reason, should not be tolerated in a place that is nesessary to visit, for ones betterment.

I travel from Bakersfield to Shafter once a month to see Dr.Komin. I drive the distance because he is that good. I've never had a problem with any of his staff before today. The rudeness of his newest receptionist had my BP results much higher than the normal logged results I keep at home. I broke out in tears when the nurse ask how I was doing, and couldn't relax until I was driving out of the parking lot, going home. There is no reason for a place meant for one's betterment, present a reception that aids to a bad condition, before and after being seen. Dr. Komin is much too good of a physician, to have somebody working for him that does that. It's too bad, that kind of abusive behavior needs a camera, to catch the act. I wouldn't want to loose a doctor like him, but I shouldn't have to be treated so bad, just to keep him. He is the best pcp I've ever had.

I have received excellent care from Dr. Komin & Dr. Shaw. Their receptionists are friendly & helpful as are all the attending staff. I highly recommend this Medical Group, they are very professional in an easy going way.

Doctor Komin is an ole time country doctor that I recommend to all families.

Horrible experience Stereotyped for appearance HIPPA was violated

The doctors are great! I’ve been going here for years but sadly I wasn’t treated right today for my appointment at 3:30 I felt like I was discriminated the WfA that had a Nike headband logo with her blonde pony tail was completely rude! She didn’t greetings me while signing in or check my temperature she was definitely not doing her job right I waited for 40 mins sitting down she didn’t even look at the clipboard until two orher people showed up had theirs appointment at 3:30 they both was WMA she greetings them checked their temperature and let them in through the office door I asked her why didn’t she check my temperature and she rolled her eyes at me and comes at me to check it that’s when I told her to cancel my appointment I’m no longer coming back the staffing is not the same it’s new staffing need more work to be retrain The doctors are great! Dr. Komin is the best Doctor I have had in me 54 years of life. Cares more then any Dr. I have ever seen. Thank you Doc.

It sucked! Went to get Covid-19 test. They make you stand outside where there's no shade no seats. I'm 72 years old. Have asthma and neurophy in my feet and a bad back. He use to be my doctor so he should know this. I tell them its really hot out here. About to just leave and forget it they take me in. Komin sits me down ,runs a q-tip up my nose. When I can talk, I tell him he needs to put up some shade for people waiting outside. He says the GOVERMENT dont pay for that. I tell him they don't cost that much!!! I ask how long to get results, He walks off. Rude an unconcerned . It must of been 90 degrees Standing out there. Was never told I had to download this app to get my results, until I ask when the results might be ready. They wouldn't even let me go pee! The only reason I went to Komin in the first place was I couldnt find another place to test. He was my doctor years ago and I had nothing but trouble.. the staff is rude.

Awesome dr.s

Best practice I've ever experienced! I love Dr. Komin but if he's not available when you need in quickly, there are several more practitioners available. He's now providing therapists and chiropractors in office as well. PLUS, you don't even have to leave the office for blood withdrawal/labs. That service is a major convenience! I don't live in Shafter (I'm in Bakersfield) but I won't settle for less than the experienced staff and high quality service I receive. Dr. Komin has grown his medical practice into a highly successful medical facility and it's obvious why. I'm so thankful I found him! Best practice I've ever experienced! You can only make an appointment here if you can wait a couple of weeks. If you're sick and need medical care they will tell you to go to urgent care. And our family usually needs to go when we are sick, so this doctor's office is of little use to us. Very rushed once you're in. Not very friendly office

Love the doctor... Very friendly and listens to your concerns. Very nice and thoughtful staff.

This is the WORST office I have ever been to. I went in and waited for an hour and didn't get a chance to see a doctor before i had to leave back for work. I rescheduled and my prescription was never called in. Then when i called the on call doctor he told me to go to Urgent Care instead of calling it in for me.

Very very helpful very good with baby's all there doctor's and stuff are very friendly would suggest everyone I know to go there

Dr. Komin is truly a professional and has a very helpful considerate staff. He and his staff makes u feel at home. Their service is prompt. Dr. Komin medical knowledge is great and he pinpoints problems and symptom very quickly. My family and I are appreciate all that he does not just for us but for the whole community

I think he is a piece of .... . My mom goes to him ,her lips were turning blue and he told her oh your lips aren't turning blue he says your doing it to yourself , what kind of doctor does that!

The doctors are very good! However it is impossible to get an appointment when you need it and once you have an appointment it takes between 20 to 45 minutes for the nurses to put you in a room. I can live with that, the big problem I had with the latest appointment I try to schedule by phone the nurse was so rude and when I asked for her name her answer was "You don't need to know my name" and hang up on me. Zero people skills on Front desk. The doctors are very good! I have heard so many good things, of DR .KOMIN he is contracted with BFMC, BUT while trying to schedule I just found out this was effective as of May 1, 2016 and still needs his Provider Code issued before Health Net Senority Plus, has him in their system, so sadley, I will need to wait til possibly June to schedule with him. Just wanted to let others know..I hope his staff is as efficient as he is.. I love Dr. Komin, however getting an appointment is outrageous! He's booked for weeks! When there's an emergency you can't get in. You're stuck going to a different facility or urgent care.
