Michael Neil Rubenstein

dr rubenstein along with his administrative and nursing staff are wonderful. they all are willing to help their patients in any manner that they can. they are all an asset to the penn medicine neurolgy team at the perelman center in philadelphia.

Dr Rubenstein is one of the worst doctors i have ever come across. An individual that drags Penn name to the mud because of his lack of social skills, complacency, and inability to provide good advices. Also, he is more interested in his phone than the patient.

RUSHED appointment. Rubinstein does not care about a patient’s pain. Refuses to give explanation. Wants patient out the room asap. Surprised he is a doctor with his lack of bedside manner. Disappointment.

I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. Having had bad experiences with other docs, since I have rare syndromes, and some doctors can't deal with that, I can say that this doctor really helped me after years of going un/misdiagnosed and basically treated as I was not well mentally. I originally saw a neurogeneticist at UPENN. Long story short, he diagnosed me - finally - with a rare syndrome, comorbid with other syndromes I have. I never felt rushed. He really takes time and explains things and listens. He respects you as a patient. I've been seeing him for years. When you find a good doctor, you don't let go. I'm seeing reviews on here that aren't positive and I really find it odd. Sometimes he has a lot of patients, yes, but he is a good doctor. Maybe it was a bad day. Keep going to him. He IS very specialized so maybe he only sees specific cases. I don't know what to say. I have had no problems with him.

Very unsatisfied. Rushes in and out of the appointment leaving his nurse as my main clinician, even though I paid to see the doctor. He says very little to me, leaving his nurse to do all the talking, but what he does say to me has been rude and unprofessional, and he becomes even more rude when I ask questions about conflicting things he has said. I'm just a paycheck, he couldn't care less about my migraines. He doesn't listen to what I say and is very unprofessional, and so is his nurse. Every time I go I have to correct everything in my chart because when she tries to "confirm" my migraine symptoms with me, everything is wrong. I even asked one time if she had the correct chart. How is it possible for me to tell her my symptoms and then when she reads them back to me it's still wrong and mis-represented?

Dr. Rubenstein is a horrible doctor. His wait times are extremely long and he is unapologetic and unprofessional. He his callus and does not tend to the needs of his patients. He nearly threw me out of his x-ray room when I was unable to complete a barium swallow. He made me feel like I was the only person who struggled with this contrast and that I was somehow broken because I couldn't do it. He is heartless and honestly ruins the reputation of the doctors that work tirelessly at Penn hospital.

Tends to be difficult to get a hold of him. Long waits for visits, approximately 3 months or so. I dont feel that he is always attentive. Sometimes I dont feel heard.
