It has been 10 days since my right anterior hip replacement and I am absolutely amazed at my fast recovery. After 2+ years of suffering from arthritis pain, barely able to walk, I was fortunate to receive Dr. Stover’s name from a surgeon who had just had successful surgery himself. The day of surgery I arrived at 5:30 AM, in OR at 7:30, out of OR at 10:30, out of recovery, dressed and IV removed at 2:30. Trained to use crutches and climb stairs. Released by 4 PM the same day. The arthritis pain disappeared immediately since I have a new hip ball and socket. So thrilled I found Dr. Stover, his team of nurses, Jackie, Jenni and Karen. His PT person Kim is the BEST. Looking forward to playing with my 3 year old granddaughter who has been patiently waiting for the “doctor to take my bone out.” So grateful and thankful! Dr. Stover changed my grandfather’s life. He replaced both hips for my grandfather with no complications. Prior to both surgeries, my grandfather experienced constant high levels of pain on an everyday basis and relied heavily on a walking cane. My grandfather no longer needs to walk with a cane and he has actually jogged for the first time in years as a result of both successful surgeries allowing him to now live life completely pain free. I was very pleased with Dr. Stover and his resident, Dr. Mehta. From reception throughout the appointment, everything was handled very professionally. Doctors Stover and Mehta did complete examinations and thoroughly explained my diagnosis. The entire appointment was first class. Luckily, I do not need to have any surgery, however, if I did I would not hesitate to use Dr Stover. I highly recommend him.

Dr.Stover is the best at what he do I had both my hips done an I WAS riding my bike in 2wks..He is Amazing...an so caring

Dr. Stover did both my hips eight weeks apart. He couldn’t have been more pleasant, despite all my concerns and myriad questions. Out of an abundance of caution he didn’t fix both at once, but he could have, because a great benefit of this particular hip surgery, brought to Chicago by Dr. Stover, is that both hips can be replaced at the same time, if you’re a good candidate. (One of my friends was, and she couldn’t be happier.) Either way, there are no restrictions afterward. That’s key. If there are restrictions, it’s not this surgery. My dad was a doctor, so I have read about the surgery in depth. Dr. Stover continues to treat me with great respect and good humor at every follow up check up. Everything still looks great even after ten years. And I keep sending friends and family to him for this anterior hip replacement surgery with the two best reasons to get it: intimate relations and sports. The best for body and mind saved my leg and gave me a new start without the drama

In 2002 I fell about 12 feet and shattered my ankle. The emergency room doctor at the first hospital I was taken to said it was worse than anything they had seen there. Withing 2 hours, I was transferred to Loyola where Dr. Stover operated and repaired my ankle with 13 surgical screws. Over the next few years I regained about 90% of my function, which other doctors have told me was impressive given the nature of the injury. In addition to the skill Dr. Stover demonstrated, I appreciated his care and the time he spent with me discussing the injury, treatment and prognosis. Dr Stover changed my life for the better. I’ve been dealing with hip pain for 15 years and he took his time to make sure I had the best treatment for my issues. Now 5 months after a full left hip replacement I can workout, chase after my toddlers and get up in the morning pain free. I will always be so grateful for what he did for me. Unprofessional Don't expect any follow up care after your procedure .You have to fine your own pain medication and he is very rude. I would not recomend him

He is experienced and expert at what he does. His team is very professional. Care is excellent.

Everything is coming along nicely. The care was excellent. The in home nurse, when she changed the bandages, said that the doctor did a really good job.

I had both my right hip and left hip replaced 2 months apart October 2017 and December 2017 Both operations were flawless. Dr. Stover is also a trauma surgeon. I have been told he loves a challenge. I'm 35 and I was diagnosed with AVN. It turned out that at the stage I was in I needed a full hip replacement on my left side. I went to see many doctors to get their opinions but Dr.Stover hands down won me over. He took his time to talk to me unlike other doctors I went to see. His knowledge and experience was incredible. Karen who works with Dr. Stover was very knowledgeable as well, extremely nice and very reassuring. They make a great team and gained my trust immediately.

The entire experience with my hip replacement was top notch. Dr. Stover was clear in his approach and steps to recovery. He took the time to respond to all of my questions and continued to follow up to ensure my recovery was going well. I would highly recommend Dr. Stover and his team.

Dr Stover is an excellent hip surgeon specializing in the anterior method. I am 2 weeks post surgery today and practically off my cane and walking freely with NO Pain!! He is a straightforward easy to discuss your issues with professional!! I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of hip evaluation!!

Very professional and helpful team. They kept in touch with me prior and after the surgery everyday by message which I found very helpful. Any question or concern I had was quickly answered and resolved. Dr Stover clearly explained my options and set my expectations. The hip replacement was much less painful than I expected and much more mobility than expected right after the surgery.. I would and have recommended Dr Stover and his team to family and friends.

Dr. Stover and his team amazed me. The surgery was surprising ly easy, recovery very rapid, incision very small and neatly done. They didn’t miss a beat in the process and listened, cared, followed up with a level of detail I would have thought impossible. On a scale from 1-10 - Dr. Stover and his team are 11!

I had my hip done last November and it has been a nightmare for the past seven months. I am so thankful I found Dr. Stover and his team. They are extremely professional and efficient and I am amazed at the amount of usable information I have been given. I know everything that was going to be done and it was explained in laymens terms. I'm absolutely thrilled with my entire surgical experience with Dr. Stover and his team! From the very first appointment until now, I have been treated professionally, compassionately, and with an expertise that continually put me totally at ease. Dr. Stover advocates the anterior approach for a total hip replacement. Now that I've experienced both the posterior (7 years ago) and anterior, I am a huge advocate as well! My recovery has been flawless (AND Dr. Stover checks in daily via email)!

My first surgery took place twelve weeks ago, total hip replacement. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Dr. Stover, his staff, and Northwestern have been organized, efficient, and skilled. I've been pain free from day 1, with zero complications to date. THAT'S what mattered to me the most. Excellent experience

Dr. Stover is a straightforward doctor who knows what he's doing. He listens to his patients and addresses any questions or concerns they have. He's not "bothered" like other doctors when a patient researches their issue and he will have a conversation with the patient about the procedure, prognosis, concerns, and questions that the patient has. He gets 5 Stars from me!! I have not seen him in a few years because I need to schedule my 10 year follow-up.

Dr. stover was definitely the right Dr. for me. He is a very skilled surgeon, a perfectionist when he operates but very honest and encouraging. His midly sarcastic humor puts you at ease. Dr. stover replaced my left hip in 2015 and recently the other hip. I have had no complications and both times I felt confident that I would be ok Also, he has a terrific team. His nurse, Jackie, his PA Karen and his resident Dr. Lawton are all highly skilled but very likable. I highly recommend Dr. Stover.

Dr. Stover is the absolute best! He listens, takes time, explains so a layman can understand. He also took time with my spouse and brought out a model to demonstrate what the problem was and how he would fix it. He inspired our confidence. He clearly cares about his patients and their families. Because my medical issue involved multiple disciplines, he worked very well with other doctors and their staffs. Most importantly, he's an extraordinary surgeon who is at the very top of his field.

My experience with Dr Stover was beyond my expectations. He immediately put me at ease honestly answering all my questions about my upcoming hip procedure and expectations post op. My hip is healing beautifully and he continues to stay involved in my progress. I drove from out of state to see Dr Stover and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Stover performed an anterior hip replacement on my 36 year old hip. He is no nonsense and is fabulous at what he does. I did my research, and he is one of the best in the country. Many will say they perform anterior replacements, but it he has the experience. Staff is all helpful. Two years later pain free and doing great.

Concerned, clinical and an excellent surgeon. Quite to the point when talking with him and empathetic when you are his patient. Best ever traits in a surgeon. Remarkably good.

I fell off a roof at work and was put in a medically-induced coma. When I was brought out of it a week later I had learned I had broke my hips tailbone and all pelvis bone shattered including the iliac crest. I was also informed about my brain injury and ripped apart kidney and liver. Dr. Stover was able to put my body back together with the help of the organ doctors and I am fully functional including walking

I am located in Baton Rouge, LA. I needed a PAO and Labrum reconstruction and my doctor does not perform this surgery. He recommended 2 surgeons. I chose Dr. Stover because his office, nurses and himself were very curtious. He called me and explains things to me over the phone even before my appt. During my appt, he was very thorough and answered all of my questions without rushing me. I did have surgery and I am 3 month p/o and couldn't be more satisfied with the results so far. Thanks Dr.!

I had have a great experience with Dr. Stover and hope he remains my doctor for many years. He did my osteotomy in 2014 and is going to be doing surgery on my impingement soon. I completely trust him and recommend him! Awesome Doctor!
