Dr. Michael Andrew Thomson

Dr Thomson is retiring and I am faced with a huge task finding a new "GP." I cant say enough good about him. He has ALWAYS been there, always worked WITH me instead of preaching AT me, always offered carefully considered suggestions and recommendations. I have been seeing him for more than 20 years; we've been so happy that my mother and sister also started seeing him. I am really worried about finding a "replacement." He can't be "replaced" as far as being such a wonderful "health partner."

I was told to go to my primary care when I came back with thyroid antibodies from my endocrinologist. Thomson told me, antibodies don't mean anything. I just need exercise. I have since been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. He wouldn't treat strep throat I had to go to urgent care for. My grandma was a prior patient and he had prescribed a new medicine which the pharmacy told her would have a terrible reaction with a medication he had prescribed earlier and wouldn't fill it. Dr. Thomson has been our family physician for approximately 25 years. No matter what the health issue is, he finds the time to schedule an appointment on the same day or within the next day or two. Dr. Thomson has consistently been very thorough in accurate diagnosis and treatment of my family's ailments. He spends a lot of time with his patients, asks many questions, and always offers expert advice regarding the health issue. Dr. T. is outstanding and we are lucky to have him as our PCP!
