Dr. Michael J Zachareas

I Have been seeing" DR. Z" for many years. He takes his time to be thorough during visits and also while explaining his findings/treatment plan. (a thorough visit is way more important than anything else to me) Dr. Z makes me feel less stressed about my visits and his relaxed, confident nature is calming. A conveniently accessed location that offers some procedures on site which results in cost savings. He leads others in the newest treatments available. Highly recommended.

Dr Z has a great personality very knowlogable and knows his buisness. I have been a patient for many years with many procedures and have been successful .100%

I was fortunate to have Dr Zachareas treat my enlarged prostate with the TUNA procedure after many years of treatment by other doctors using medications. I experienced a complete blockage while on vacation and a catheter was inserted. I saw Dr Zachareas after I returned and chose TUNA which was simple and effective. It’s been more than a year since the procedure and have normal urine function since the procedure. Have absolutely no reservations recommending Dr Zachareas.

As a 'longtime customer' of the Good Doctor I can tell you that his skill, intelligence, and genuine concern for his patients is very reassuring. I would have no reason to look elsewhere.

Incompetent uncaring staff I’m switching urologist they are clueless and don’t care about their patients, very pathetic There is nothing his staff won’t screw up!!!

"Unlike you, I dont have to work another day in my life" Dr. Zachareas I had a direct conversation with Dr. Z where he stated he would reach out to me the following day. He did not. When I reached out to him, he did not reply. I called his office and spoke with his secretary, who assured me he would call me that day. Dr. Zachareas called me 5 days later and told me he did not call me because "it was his son's birthday". I'm not sure how that factors in at all - this is a medical professional. When I told him I found that unprofessional and that he had lied to me about reaching out he became irate and said "unlike you, I don't have to work another day in my life." Besides the fact this was irrelevant to our conversation, it highlights the type of person Dr Zachareas is. He is, by documented fact, a poor quality provider, manipulative, and a great example that money cannot buy class. He may say I got Irate, and after that I sure did. No regrets.

GREAT Doctor! Very professional, experienced, knowledgeable and has a fantastic bedside manner. Makes you feel very comfortable. Lucky for me his practice is near.

He said he catheterizes all female patients to get a “clean” urine sample — insulting and unethical.

Very good bed side manor very educated knows exactly what he’s doing But do not have plans to go anywhere or do anything make this is your one event for the day because it takes two-three hours for a 15 minute appointment

I found Dr. Zachareas very likable, friendly (which is huge as most doctors are not), and very knowledgeable. I actually have hope he can help me. Full no nonsense and no tell you what you want to hear bs and honest. Refreshing. I’d have rated him higher but waiting for results but so far top notch.

He is a hack, gave me surgery and put in a mesh to hold my bladder that dropped. I had to have the mesh removed, my new Dr said it was to tight and to low, it tore me up inside I couldn't be intimate with my husband. Not even a year later I had a new and amazing Dr (Dr K) he fixed me. Now I want my money back that I had to reach a $6000 deductible!!! I had excruciating pain after Dr Z hacked me.!!!!! I like Dr. Zachareas and believe him to be a good urologist. I am very surprised not to see more complaints about wait times. Unless you have a couple of hours, you need to book the first appointment of the day. It is his practice to stack patients in his waiting room. Consistently, you will find 8 or 9 patients ahead of you when you arrive. This is not an exception; this is EVERY appointment. On two separate occasions, staff members have told me that he stacks patients routinely. Today, three separate patients complained at the reception desk that they had been waiting too long. He is a great guy, and if your personal time is of no significance, I recommend him. However, if like me you have a life, you may want to consider someone else. I have been with Dr. Michael Zachareas for over twelve years. He is truly Outstanding in his practice. He listens. He has compassion, and patience. I am so Grateful to this wonderful Doctor. I have a horrible bladder disease. Dr Zachareas took me on knowing that I also had other genetic illness’s. And he has never deserted me in all these years. I would say this. I am a complex patient who often gets abandoned or told there is nothing else to offer. Dr Zachareas and his Staff are to me; caring, helpful, always have a smile or a chuckle (so important)! This staff are truly the Best staff I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They know their patients and are so amazing at what they do. They go the extra mile. I found Dr. Zachareas to be caring, in addition to being a great doctor. As far as waiting in the waiting room, i typically have to wait longer to see my other doctors equally as I do with Dr. Zachareas. However, if you figure that he spends 10 more minutes with each patient, then by the end of the day one would expect to wait. Yet, when your turn comes up he spends as much time with you as he needs to as well. I recommend him to anyone who wants a top notch doctor. Dr. Zachareas said my bladder cancer was a stage T1. The pathology report said extensive invasion into the lamina propria. The next layer would be muscle (which is when bladder removal is recommended). He wanted to treat me with a medication inserted into the bladder. I was worried this treatment was not enough. I went to Boston, MGH, where they removed the bladder. The pathology now showed stage T3a. Stage T4 is metastatic, which is what would have happened if I followed Dr Z's treatment plan.

Michael is the balls. He is a great doctor with excellent bedside manor. A very adept urologist who really knows his trade. The office staff is awesome also! Highly recommended!!! You will not be sorry making the right choice!

When I went to him it turned out I had a huge kidney stone tried blasting it but that didn't work then he decided to put a catheter in me which remained me for 6 weeks whichass ssheersgony and kept me confined to bed next to a bucket, All procedures are done at the CCummings Center as he shares a surgical Suite with other doctors. I have recently found out that it's cheaper to share of surgical Suite than use a hospital. He also teaches weight loss classes, what this has to do with your urology I don't know. Dr Z is great very through spends time with you and explains everything he did surgery on me and fixed my ureter from an injury

I’ve been a patient for a few years. Dr. Z is a great doctor, one of the few offices you go to and don’t feel like your at the doctors office he talks to you like a regular person and has a sense of humor. From my family we all highly recommend him as a urologist. People complaining about him obviously don’t have a clue what sarcasm is. If you don’t do the things he tells you to do and you end up back in his office with kidney stones he will make a joke About putting kids thru college LOL

He is "procedure happy" - he does unnecessary procedures BEFORE trying other methods. Making money seems to be his primary focus, not the well being of his patients. Run away - fast!

Office staff a dumpster fire, while lacking whatever warmth and grace that might imply. If you do not have infinite time (and/or patience) you may want to shop elsewhere.

I have been a patient for 5.5 years. I joke with my husband I should have a frequent flyer card with them because I feel like I am always there. Bernie is awesome, I barely ever use my last name I swear she knows it's me. That said, as a long time patient, I will say the staff as well as, the Good Dr. Are amazing and professional. I've seen comments about wait times and things but he is a doctor in high demand, and the best of the best. I even had a Saturday morning procedure because he cares
