Dr. Mitch and Dr. Josh Lomke are my heroes. I was having issues with a crown done at another practice. Smile Designs of Olney saw me right away. I have been going to Smile Designs of Onley for the last year and a half. I can say that I have never had this type of quality dental care before. Dr. Joshua Lomke, Dr. Mitchell Lomke, Carolina, Joss and the rest of the staff have been professional, friendly, helpful and highly detail oriented. They have corrected long-standing issues that others had previously missed, and thanks to them, my dental health is in top condition. Not only that, but they take their time to explain each issue, the required procedures, answer any questions/concerns that a patient has. Joshua Lomke has been my dentist for about 4 years and I feel fortunate that I connected with him. His knowledge of current practices + procedures is with his thoughtful approach to all dental issues. He cares about his patients and appears to genuinely enjoy interacting with them. I have been a dental patient for over 50 years and have visited many dentists and dental practices. Dr. Lomke is highly professional and skilled. Since I began using him, the dentist no longer feels like a burden or appointment I’d rather avoid. The experience is head and shoulders above previous ones.

When I was 11 years old I had a terrible bicycle accident, resulting in a major chip in my front tooth. For 40-years I dealt with that tooth… from caps falling off again and again, discolored veneers, and a poor fit. After years of ill attempts to add more veneers on the surrounding teeth (to match things up), which resulted in damage to my lower teeth, I ended up settling and resigned to the fact that this was just how it was going to be. Several dentists later I met Dr. Lomke for a routine checkup. He noticed the chaos in there instantly and suggested I look at some photos after my appointment. What he later showed me were before and after photos of people he helped in my similar situation. His passion for GOOD cosmetic dentistry was evident in his stories and his 'after' photos. So, I told him I wanted to go ahead and do it. In the weeks to follow, Dr. Lomke and his incredibly caring staff prepped me and literally held my hand through the process. His technique was new to me, and clearly advanced by his modern technology. More than once he called me at home to check on me when I had temporaries in. The day of the major installation (for lack of a better word but that’s truly what it was), Dr Lomke took his time - and with great care - to ensure perfection. He put in six new veneers that look unmistakably real. I love them! I truly mean it when I say that Dr. Lomke knows what he’s doing and the end result will be amazing, if not life-changing. I now smile with teeth in photos!

I love smile designs! Dr. Lomke has taken care of me and my family for years. He is very good at what he does. He always explains and shows you pictures of what is going on. On top of that he is very friendly and always pleasant. He also has a darling staff. His son Dr.Josh is great too!

I’ve been to many dentists, and by far they are the best! Not only have they done a wonderful job with every procedure I’ve had, but they’ve listened and done everything I’ve expressed interest in. For example, I had an extremely gummy smile that I dreaded. Once I communicated that to them, they made a plan contoured to me. They removed the gums (which look beautiful now!) and are working on a plan for whitening and straightening. I’m already so pleased with the difference! If you care about your teeth look, this is the right clinic to visit. I had a problematic issue with my front tooth that made me less confident with my smile for years. I did enough research online and I ended up visiting Dr. Josh who carefully listened to my concerns and presented different approaches to deal with my tooth issue. He was confident but also realistic and he explained every small detail with me so I take the right decision. I decided to make a tooth implant and he did such a great job. Dr. Joshua Lomke recently completed a dental “makeover” for me and I could not be happier with the results. After years of being a dental-phobe, with fear, discomfort and dissatisfaction with dentists generally, Dr. Lomke gently and thoughtfully guided me through a bite correction and aesthetic improvements with aligners, new crowns and veneers. I would absolutely recommend this place to any one! I just had my appointment 30min ago and it was an extremely thorough cleaning prefaced by a complete set of X-rays because I’m a new patient. The equipment was very modern and sanitary. All the staff are very kind and helpful. Dr. Josh is very knowledgeable about this field and was able to answer every single one of my questions. He was able to spot problem areas in my mouth that other dentists could not and provide solutions. I will be coming here for all my dentistry needs! I was recently at Dr. Lomke’s office for a botched crown that was done somewhere else. I was super apprehensive about removing the crown but assured me and reassured me it was the best thing to do. It’s a good thing he explained everything to me thoroughly and removed the crown because there were more issues under the crown AND the adjacent tooth. But let me say this…I hate needles. However, when Dr. Lomke gave me a local injection of anesthesia, I didn’t feel a thing. Best experience ever with that. Yay! The temporary crown that Sonia made looked and felt amazing enough to look like a permanent crown. She obviously is meticulous and cares about her work and patients. Dr. Lomke treated me like I was family. His caring and gentle tone along with his gentle yet precise hands had me almost asleep in the chair! It was actually a relaxing experience. Without Dr. Lomke & Dr. Kazemi I would not have the smile I do today. In the winter of 2017 I was in a motorcycle accident that broke the frontside of my face and caused me to loose two of my front teeth. I first went to Dr. Kazemi in Bethesda, MD who specializes in such trauma and he extracted shards of broken bone and teeth. After that Dr. Kazemi conducted surgery and gave me bone & gum grafting along with titanium implants. Once the structural foundation of my mouth was rebuilt Dr. Kazemi sent me to Dr. Lomke to put in my 2 false implant teeth. From the start Dr. Lomke was very understanding of the situation and knowing the trauma involved and aware that I was missing probably the two most important teeth in a persons smile. Dr. Lomke is very precise and patient with his work, he ONLY wants the best outcome and strives for it. Dr. Lomke’s staff are very professional and friendly and his office has some of the coolest and advance tools I’ve ever seen in a dentist office. The challenge was to give me two cubic zirconia (man made diamond material) teeth that match the rest of my teeth and looks natural. Dr. Lomke was a success! Because of Dr. Lomke’s skill, experience, love and passion for his work, I got back my smile. I recommend to anyone who has been involved with trauma to the mouth, wants to repair and regain there smile or even perfect it, Dr. Lomke is the best around. I was recently referred to Smile Designs for an implant crown consultation. Having never had an implant done before, I was nervous about the crown process. The office was clean and bright. Dr. Mitchell Lomke, his son Dr. Joshua Lomke, and their staff were all friendly, and professional. The process was thoroughly and patiently explained to me and I confidently made an appointment for my next visit. Fast forward, my two new implant crowns fit perfectly and look incredibly natural. Amazingly professional, very conversational so i felt as comfortable as one could possibly feel in a dentist’s office. Not my usually dentist but I went in for tooth pain because they could take me so quickly on such short notice and they identified and found a solution to my problem :) overall a wonderful experience

I wound up meeting with Dr. Josh Lomke for a consultation following a bike accident that left me with two significant cracks in my front teeth. He gave me a thorough explanation of what he could do for me and was fully transparent about pricing. After consideration, I opted to go for veneers. Looking back weeks after, I can enthusiastically say it was the right choice, as so was trusting him to handle it. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Lomke took care to make things as physically painless as possible, while demanding perfection of himself. He took time to get an exact match in shade between the veneers and my actual teeth, and to detail a "flaw" that would make them look jut like the real thing—while still looking pretty good. Since getting them, I've received loads of compliments from folks who saw the aftermath of the accident, and surprised a few people after letting them know which ones are fake. Nobody can tell the difference. It wasn't cheap, and it took a good deal of time across multiple visits. But it was worth every penny and every minute in the chair. I have a TON of dental anxiety, and he walked me through my gingivectomy and crown procedure so patiently, answering many different calls and thoroughly giving me answers to my many questions. He walks you through the procedure as it's happening so you're always aware what's going on. Dr. Josh is very conscientious and thorough--he is probably the most detail-oriented and thorough dentist I've ever had. I've had 2 other crowns put in and none were as good as what Dr. Josh did for me. He goes above and beyond and takes extra steps to ensure your mouth health is as perfect as it can be, and doesn't cut corners that other dentists might. Wonderful experience with both doctors! I am a ritualistic dental nut, every 6 months I have jad cleanings since childhood. I was introduced to this practice after hubby’s positive experiences and impressions. I am also a fan of their work and genuine interest in the outcomes for my well-being! My cleaning resulted in a whiter smile- seriously, not much scraping either. The method was similar to a power wash. I swear I don’t know why I’ve never heard of this before!?! Dr. Josh Lomke was really great and incredibly efficient!! I had to get a filling replaced and I was only in the chair for 25 minutes. Also, I tend to get some anxiety about shots... He was very understanding and took extra care. Will certainly see him again.

Fantastic experience with a superstar dentist who took incredible care when I had three caps. Each visit was as if my appointment was the most important of the day. The hardest part, the anesthesia, was done in a way that I didn’t event realize it was happening. The end product was perfection.

I decided to change dentists and a good friend recommended Dr. Joshua Lomke. I had to do two crowns (one complicated) and a filling so I was a bit worried. I must say that Dr. Lomke delivered at the highest level and surpassed all my expectations. Having had many dentists in my life, this is no light judgement. Dr. Lomke is an outstanding technician with a perfectionist twist but understands, listens, and cares for the patient. He is honest and direct and tells it how it is, which I always appreciate. I found Smile Designs of Olney through a Google search when I was trying to find a place to get my teeth whitened. I was a little nervous about the procedure, because I had heard from various girlfriends who had their teeth whitened before, that they experienced some discomfort during and after the procedure. My initial consultation with Dr. Lotke went very well and I really liked their friendly, professional staff. Dr. Joshua Lomke is a true artist. I had 4 crowns replaced by him due to an accident and all 4 crowns look amazing. It is impossible to tell that they are crowns. I started taking my son to this office when he turned 13. He had a fear of dentists due to some trauma over dental work done at another office when he was little. I’m sure many people can relate to the statement “I’ve had a bad experience with a dentist.” Unfortunately in my case I had quite a few bad experiences to the point where I definitely didn’t trust anyone because I was misguided by professionals, I thought where guiding me in the right direction. I had bonding done on my front for teeth and seven years later I needed to have it redone. Long story short the original dentist who did my bonding retired and I went to someone else. The bonding looked great but it kept cracking after about the fifth time getting it repaired I went to a different dentist. I was so disappointed, the Dentist did an awful job. One tooth was two toned and just the overall bonding was horrible and my teeth looked awful. I was so self-conscious of smiling or talking to people because I didn’t want them to see my teeth. I started researching cosmetic dentistry, based off of online reviews that’s how I found Dr. Joshua Lomke. I set up a consolation to discuss redoing my bonding. Before the appointment I started experiencing excruciating pain in my tooth. I called the office to see if I could get seen. They had me come right in. My first impression was extremely positive, the staff was super friendly and even though I wasn’t even a patient yet they treated my situation with urgency. Dr. Joshua Lomke did an x-ray to see what was going on and talked to me about what I needed to do next. He also discussed my situation of wanting my bonding redone. Based off of what I was looking for regarding my smile and the state my teeth were in he recommended that I get caps. He was very upfront and honest with me that he wanted to first address a few issues that were currently going on with my back teeth to get them stable before moving on to the front teeth. The entire process Dr. Joshua Lomke was very clear in his communication about each visit and the entire process. I never thought I could put trust in a dentist again after being misled but Dr. Lomke had/has my full trust. I followed all of his recommendations (how many teeth to cap, getting gum surgery to even out my gum lines). Dr. Lomke always made sure to schedule plenty of time for my visits so neither of us felt rushed. He is a true perfectionist, no matter what procedures I went through with him he always would make sure it was perfect. He even make comments like “let’s redo that it’s not perfect”. It’s probably a quality that drives his family and girlfriend crazy (haha), but a quality I admired and a quality you want in your dentist. To say I am happy with my results is an understatement. I am seriously blown away how natural and beautiful my teeth are. Every concern I communicated to Dr. Lomke i.e. the whiteness of my teeth I didn’t want super white or what they call “Hollywood”, he clearly listened. The detail in each tooth and the naturalness, is AMAZING. I have never in my life felt so confident in smiling or talking with someone in a close proximity. I had 12 front teeth capped and gum surgery to correct my uneven gum lines. Dr. Joshua Lomke is truly AMAZING! He is super friendly, honest and extremely talented. Both Drs. Lomke did an amazing job on the delicate procedure of releasing our newborn son’s tongue and lip ties. They were thorough and communicative through the process and showed great care and tenderness with our little boy. The use of the laser led to almost no recovery time needed and little to no pain for our baby. Both doctors even reached out to us personally the next day to check in on our son and review post operative care.
