Dr. Mohan Penmetcha

Stay far away from this Doctor especially if you have Scleroderma. She is not equipped to even have patients. I always have to be the one to inform my doctors on things she would want to know instead of being involved. She gets nasty when u question her about meds she wants u on. Then I found out that under her my scleroderma wasn’t even being controlled. So now I will be going to UT Southwestern where their are actually true specialist that specializes with scleroderma. After reading these reviews I've decided to not even bother with this office.

WORST receptionist at this office. How are you going to have an attitude every single day!! She answers the phone very rudely and in person is even worse!! To be sitting at the reception requires good customer service skills, if you can’t have a good attitude then go work behind the scenes. Also they tell you they’ve got you on for appt and when you call at the time they tell you “oh you’re not scheduled for today” literally so unorganized!. Don’t go. Doctor didn’t focus on diagnosis, just looked at my condition and assumed what I had, didn’t do x rays or any lab work. WORST receptionist at this office. I saw him for 3 or 4 years and then decided I would try homeopathic remedies for the next 3 to 4 years. When my symptoms got worse I called the office only to be told that they aren’t taking any new patients. I said I’m not new, you have all my records and nothing has changed. The girl on the phone was extremely rude and repeated “he is not seeing new patients” and then she hung up on me. I gave 4 stars because the girl that works the front desk is very unfriendly, never greets me with a smile. If it wasn't for that I would give 5 stars to Dr. Penn. I've been going to him for about 13 years. He's wonderfully caring and takes very good care of me. His assistant Velma is my favorite person there. She's the best. Absolutely love Dr. Penmencha! His nurse Alma and my infusion nurse Sandy are friendly, professional and the best. However, the front desk staff appears to care less about the patient. I have been a patient for about 14 years and they are wonderful to work with. Always looking for the best way to make things better for you.

I first came to Dr. Penmetcha in February with pain in my hands, wrists, elbows, feet, and knees that was quickly taking over my life. Everyday tasks were becoming almost impossible to manage, including my work as a classical musician, and I was exhausted and scared. Dr. Penmetcha immediately put me at ease. He is friendly, kind, and reassuring, and takes plenty of time to hear my concerns and teach me about my diagnosis and medications. He takes me seriously when I am in pain or experiencing side effects. He has helped me understand how to access the medications I need at a cost I can afford. He is interested in my life and makes me feel comfortable. He has called me himself to explain blood test results and check how I am adjusting to medications. I am deeply grateful to have a doctor I trust to help me with this chronic illness, and I am so relieved that my quality of life has completely turned around for the better. Thank you, Dr. Penmetcha! I think he is a nice Dr . I think his receptionist is turse. I got a 2 Nd opinion , he did not like that . Had a hard time understanding him , his accent on the phone .The office would not mail me my bloodwork , saying it is against HIPPA. That is a lie . Another Dr office sent me my bloodwork when requested .

Never get the phone. If they ever do, it’s with an attitude. Won’t even try to respond to multiple voicemails. Not to mention first appointments are almost 2 months out! Not even worth the wait.

Very bad staff. My wife had an appointment and we went on time. She had all call records she talk to one of the staff over 2 minutes and get the appointment. she wrote the address of the office on the phone. She want to see doctor ASAP before the symptoms of sickness fade-away. when we went at doctor office receptionists told us she don’t have appointment for us. It was 40 minutes drive from our home. We shows her all call records my wife made one day earlier but receptionist don’t want to accept it. She forcing us to get new appointment and come back which was very hard because their office was far. I ask her let me talk to the doctor if he can see her just for a while or she can show him the medication given by primary doctor. She refused to do that and telling us doctor is busy with other patient. I said ok I will wait. But after the patient left she said now doctor is busy on conference call. And she told me leave the office I said no I have to talk to him. She said if you don’t leave the office I will call the police. That was really very unaccepted. From her behaviour believe it was her fault and she don’t want the doctor will know about it. I can say the lady was very unprofessional. She can tell us she make mistake or something but she wasn’t I don’t write reviews but I have no option. This dr and staff are great! Dr. Penmetcha took the time to try to get to the root of my problem. He even asked about medical issues I had years previous which were similar issues. He took his time with me and answered any concerns I had. It was far out from where I lived but well worth it to see him. I have been seeing Dr. Penmetcha for over 10 years. His staff is very professional and he is as well. Velma is wonderful. I am very satisfied with the care Dr. Penmetcha has provided over the years. Dr. Penmetcha always treats me very well.

Dr Penmecha is a kind and caring doctor. He is very friendly and always treats me like I am his only patient. My brother referred me to him and there is no greater compliment than to refer a family member or friend. I too will share his information. Vilma is also very friendly. First appointment today with Dr. Penmetcha and was blown away by how great he was. I was expecting to have a bad experience after reading some negative reviews, so I was even more pleasantly surprised. He surpassed my expectations and then some. He took the time to talk with me and was very patient as he listened to my history. We spent an hour during the appointment going over my health history, doing the exam, and answering all my questions. I don’t get the critiques on here. I want to give 0 stars. I’ve called this ofc 3 times and have left a msg. My bf has called this ofc and left a msg. NO one had ever called back. What the hell is wrong with people. At this point, I don’t care to go see him for my arthritis pain.

Had a great experience!! Dr.Penmetcha was great, he took the time to listen especially since I had a few questions. It's wonderful to have a doctor that listened to my previous experiences with medication and found a happy medium for my needs. So glad I went to him and do not regret it!! Worst RA doctor I've seen. Wrongly diagnosed me. After seeing my negative blood results and wiggling my joints around in a very brief interaction, decided I should be on a very invasive RA treatment. My family and I decided to get a second opinion and turned out I don't have RA but a curable Lyme disease. I've not had symptoms since the proper diagnosis and more inclusive tests. I could be injecting myself with wrong medicine; worst case I could be dead from misdiagnosis. Pls get another opinion

Update: in less than 2 months they dropped me saying they tried to reach me many times. The dr office failed to contact me nor did altus infusion. Worst treatment ever from a doctor. Ashamed i even went here. Seem great at first. Maybe he can not keep up with his patients but it was pretty empty. All well their lost my gain because now i get to chose a beeter dr. He was my choice due to scheduling. I hate writting these types of reviews but sometimes it is warranted. If I get worse because of this it may be a another matter. Went in and office was empty, no patients. Staff was rude, and Doctor was very hard to understand.
