I have had Dr. Carney as a PCP for about 3 years. I find her very down to earth and easy to talk to. She does not push any medicine or tests unless you are open to them.

Do not see her if you want a thorough exam, concern for your health issues, consent for treatment, or any level of friendliness. She was the worst provider I've ever seen.

Unresponsive Tried to get appointment for severe cough 2 days later said they had no appointments so go to urgent care. Had positive covid test and waited for a call back which never happened.

Rude. I believe the desk receptionists have attitudes. The doctor’s do not fully listen to your concerns and push their own agendas. I was told “no one knows what goes on with the inside of the body.” Seems alarming no? They are doctors who studied general knowledge and some sciences of the body. Shouldn’t the degree they earned be assuring and comforting enough to know they know how to help when you are in need? Oh and this is in regard to having asthma and getting the appropriate medications. It’s kind of needed for survival. Rude. I believe the desk receptionists have attitudes. 2 appointments with Nancy carney at southcoast medical on American legion hwy Westport ma. First appointment she started my initial pcp appointment half way through she excused herself to go outside to meet someone who was there to work on her car. 20 minutes later returned to finish the appointment. 2 nd appointment the nurse brought me into the room at my scheduled time and said the doctor will be right in. 45 minutes later I went out to find out where she was. A nurse went looking for her and after 3-4 minutes informed me that she was indisposed and didn’t know where she was. Horrific. If you have chronic illness, stay away. And since Dr Carney is not a surgeon, I'm not sure what medicine exactly is being "practiced."

I've had her for 3 or so years and finally am just done. I don't ask for much. But they've known for years I have a psychiatric condition (bipolar 1) and then a nurse practitioner perscribed me a med that is known to trigger manic episodes. Then it did end up triggering a manic episode. After getting out of a one week inpatient visit after a 3 week long manic episode I had a follow up with Dr. Carney. Only did so because the inpatient place made the appointment so I held to it. When meeting with her she acted almost oblivious that her office perscribed a medication KNOWN to trigger mania. Told her the psychiatrist at inpatient care told me that and her response was "oh ok" and moved on. First your office perscribed a medication that triggered mania for 3 weeks and your response is "oh ok?" I bet if she went through a manic episode for three weeks she'd appreciate it's severity. She may have her phd and is intelligent with pediatric knowledge but not Psych.

I have never visited such a disgusting heartless office in my life. My last physical which was a year and a half ago was with Dr Carney. I called today to see if i could come in to get swabbed for the flu bc ive been terribly sick for days now and the girl told me to come at 530. I get To the office for them to tell me they can’t see me bc Dr Carney is not listed on my insurance card. So how was i seen last time for my physical? She couldn’t give me an answer. I basically left in tears and am going to the ER. I’m completely disgusted. Will never come here or refer this place to anyone. I have never visited such a disgusting heartless office in my life. Professional courteous service

I have been fortunate for 2 years now to have the extremely intelligent, personable and down-to-earth Doctor Nancy Carney for my healthcare needs. She is thorough and precise, whilst not becoming “bogged down” by computer entries during patient visits, as so many physicians find themselves caught up with in recent years, which ultimately takes away from a good and wholesome healthcare experience. She speaks AND listens. The quality of care I receive is more than satisfactory.... a lot more. This physician has earned my trust, and, I will be her patient for the rest of my life! She’s kind, caring and takes the time necessary to listen to all concerns

The staff and medical assistants were friendly and very thorough. Dr. Carney is a sweetheart. She is very caring and kind, and both my visits were outstanding. I highly recommend Dr. Carney as a PCP. She was kind and helpful. Also very thorough which I really appreciate. She doesn’t miss anything. That is very important to me as a patient. My health is important to me and I desire to have a doctor who is more professional and willing to take the reins and lead on my health care

I saw her for a cough----she said I have a cold but did not offer any help---such as what cough medicine etc to take. I left feeling she did not help. I eventually saw Dr. Laxer who prescribed 2 Rx....I am still coughing 3 weeks later. F Marshall

I made an appointment with dr carney back in august and was finally able to get my appointment last month wich was january, i waited for dr carney in the room for over an hour to be seen because she took someone else that came in after me, i made my second appointment with carney, she cancelled on me last minute about four times, apparently due to being ill,( im sure), they finally made an appointment with me on th 23rd of February at 3:30, i show up and they said it was supposed to be on the 26th, so once again they go and change the dates for some reason once again, i left work early four times, lost out on money and wasted my damn time, ( 6 months in the making) the manager sue down there should be fired, i will never go back or recommend anyone to waste their time, (what a joke this place is) I made an appointment with dr carney back in august and was finally able to get my appointment last month wich was january, i waited for dr carney in the room for over an hour to be seen because she took someone else that came in after me, … More

Terrible. I was involved in a car accident and she basically belittled the pain I had and said it'd heal on its own although I have to go to the chiropractor three times a week for four weeks and then we can see if I can start going less based on where I'm at with my pain. She basically implied my body was bounced around in accident so that's why everything hurts. Ok... I am not just sore. I had a bladder issue and she ignored it because UTI test came negative. No ultra sound, blood work, etc

She always spends the time she needs with me, answers my questions, asks about my problems, encourages wholistic, common sence life style changes to improve my health first before medication. She has insite and is able to connect the dots when looking at my health and ME to see what I need.
