Oanh Lauring

Usually not one to leave these, but I've had great interactions here and can't believe some recent poor reviews. Annette at the front desk went above and beyond today to assist with some insurance/referral mishaps I had. And the PA Hannah is always so professional and great at what she does. They all took a stressful morning and put me at ease.

Imagine going to the doctor, paying a co-pay and being told they will send prescriptions to your pharmacy in September 2022 (!!!) and now it is February 2023 and you had to call the office multiple times saying nothing was sent … and you STILL don’t have an answer. Don’t waste your time coming here, this was quite honestly the silliest experience when it comes to doctors.

Where do i start! Terrible bedside manner… do not recommend.

They won't answer the phone! I've tried to call several times at different times of day with zero luck. I am looking for a new dermatologist but I guess I'll move on from looking into this office ????

Very difficult to speak to someone in that office. If you have a serious issue you might end up going to ER or walking in that office. Dr. Lauring have very poor bedside manner. After my procedure I never saw her. She did not speak to me in in what to expect. My follow up visits, she was never available. Poor service on her end. I'm not happy with any of the services. Honestly i can't really tell you how she look. She was in briefly dressed up in her heels and face mask. Front desk is nice . But Beware you will never get anyone when you call. Hopefully you're available when you receive a call back. Maybe after posting this complaint.the call issue will get better Not a good office for services. I would not recommend anyone to go there. I read prior reviews before my initial visit and I was extremely pleased with everything. I find it is always best to prepare for any doctor visit by having your materials in hand. I have a written list of all my prescriptions, any questions I want to ask and any correspondence I may have a question about. I find this works for me and I remain stress free because I am prepared. All of my intakes were thorough and complete. This office is extremely efficient and may seem fast paced for some but rest assured nothing has been missed in my experience and I believe everyone is doing their part for everything to run smoothly. I recommend Dr. Lauring without hesitation and feel she is very observant, extremely qualified and shares her observations, your options, and potential costs very easily. The office and exam rooms are very clean and spacious and that is another plus for me.

Very professional and extremely helpful. The last skin doctor was not the best but Dr Lauring is. If you have skin problems go to her.

The best care, Dr Laurring make me feel like I'm her best friend. Get a big smile and hug when come. Sended me birthday card.

Very professional. They completely corrected two issues I had, one of which a previous doctor couldn't. Warm feel in the office, great place.

I saw DR. Lauring for an over all skin check. The visit lasted about 10 mins and she never even examined me, didn't even touch me . This was prior to Covid. Then told me I didn't have any Moles which I do. I was later diagnosed by another DR. with Melanoma. Thankfully it was caught early. I would never recommend her to anyone.

She is the only dermatologist who actually listened to me. She got me set up with my medicine, & got me cleared up. Dr. Lauring is so sweet, so are all the staff there. I definitely recommend her.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Worst level of care and service I have ever gotten from a medical professional. I can't even say Dr. Lauring deserves to be called a professional.

The service was okay. I was surprised that I recieved a bill for 149.00. I stopped by the office to ask for a small discount ...not earning as much as before covid..they would not even offer a 1% discount. I paid in full...but thought it was sad. I know they aren't obligated ...but what about compassion. Uuuggg

Rushed. Condescending. Her office relies heavily on having a "cool" vibe. Unfortunately, that's the only reason for visiting. She spent approximately 4 minutes checking me out. She dismissed my adult acne as rosacea. When I asked her about my jawline pimples, she actually rolled her eyes and said, "you mean rosacea?" She then thrust a pamphlet at me and prescribed things that did nothing for my skin. I also asked her about products to treat my forehead melasma (dark spots from pregnancy). She said the only thing that would work is a laser treatment that she offers (almost $400) and I can make an appointment at the front desk. Then, like a flash, she left the room. I have since been treated for my skin concerns at another dermatologist and guess what? I don't have rosacea. My adult acne and melasma have gone away with proper topical treatments. Love Dr. Lauring and the Office staff. I have had adult acne for quite sometime (all over my body) a year later and I have skin I am proud of and can wear tank tops confidently. Also I had an issue of a rash breaking out Dr. Lauring couldn't fit me in so I went somewhere my primary care told me to go- they swore I was getting bit by something and sent me on my way. I WAS NOT GETTIN BIT. Went to Dr. Lauring, in seconds she guessed what it was (needed a biopsy for confirmation) gave me a treatment and it was gone in a week!!! The rash I had FOR MONTHS was gone and I was finally in relief. SHES A SKIN GURU- which is why they are VERY busy so she can seem rushed, but as long as you go in prepared she takes care of you. Best staff and Doctor in town

No, I would not recommend Dr. Lauring to anyone. She was recommended to me as a good dermatologist. My appointment was for an all over check, as there were a few spots I wanted her to review. In my experience, she was rushing the appt. The $603 appt would have been over in 5 minutes, if I hadn't stopped her from leaving the room to take a look at something I wanted removed. While she was freezing the spot the liquid went everywhere. I've had a number of items removed and never felt the liquid drip on other parts of my skin. In the midst of freezing a third staff member entered the room and whispered to the assistant. The assistant then turned to me to say I had a $125 deductible. It took me a few seconds to figure out they weren't talking about a deductible for the appt, but for the freezing. This discussion should have been mentioned prior to the freezing. Long story short there were 3 other areas I wanted frozen; however, was so disturbed by the rush job, I was done.

Been seeing Dr. Lauring for years. I have a rash spreading across my face and they can't get me in for 2 MONTHS!!! The Dr. is going away for 2 weeks so too bad for her patients. Unbelievable. I would not recommend this practice as they obviously can't manage seeing patents in a timely fashion.

Dr. Lauring came in, checked me over, ignoring my questions during the exam. Did not ask if I had questions or concerns. I am an RN off 31 years and choose her for her expertise. My questions were of value to me and remain unanswered. I will not recommend her to anyone personally or professionally.

Please be careful. Research risks and complications associated with cosmetic procedures. They're real. Decide if the risks outweigh the benefits. Explore less invasive treatment options, if available. List questions for the provider to answer during the initial consult. If the responses are short and lack comprehensiveness and/or the appointment seems rushed, take it as a sign. Dr. Lauring's office is a business and businesses are about revenue. Her treat plans lack the combination of tailoring to the patient's needs while doing what's in their best interest. It's in and out quickly with little care or concern for the patient. Again, research. Some of the procedures offered can have a lasting impact and in some cases the damage is irreversible. Please be careful. Horrible experience! called for a follow up appointment for my daughter, they could not be bothered to call me back. called again and was told the NP we saw quit and Dr. lauring no longer speaks with patients over the phone.Only medical assistants can call patients back to make recommendations for treatment at another time ??? this dermatologist has no care for follow through once they receive payment for services. Also the front desk is beyond rude if you question them. Her support staff is very efficient, friendly and professional. Dr. Lauring, however, does not get a good review from me because the appointment was hurried and she seemed not interested in the reason I was there. I made the appointment to have a facial mole checked and possibly removed. Not once did she ask “What brings you here?” As she did the skin check, she did tell me what all the marks were, but talked so fast and incessantly that I couldn’t get a word in! When I finally got to ask about my mole, she was in such a hurry to leave that she didn’t give me the chance to inform her that the mole IS irritating and that I wanted it removed. Sometimes hard to get an appointment as Dr. Lauring is very popular. Friendly staff. Very personable and thorough.

I would definitely recommend dr Lauring . Her and her staff are very friendly and knowledgeable I felt very comfortable talking with to her.

Such a wonderful, professional, and aloha practice. I came to the mainland 7 years ago and when I found this practice it reminded me of home. Everyone is so aloha and truly wants to help you and assist you being the best version of yourself. You can truly tell that this is one of Dr. Lauring passions. She does not treat you like a number however, like a human being and is truly invested in who you are as a human being. The services are fantastic and if you’re not satisfied she works with you! However, I have never not been satisfied and the result are accurate and true to what she describes. I never feel like I am being sold anything or recommend something I don’t need. I was referred to Dr. Lauring over 5 years ago by another physician from Mercy Hospital. At the time, her office was in also in Mercy. She opened this beautiful, new and modern facility, which is so much more pleasant. I’m so glad I followed her there. I couldn’t be happier with her and the staff. I did not have a good experience with Dr. Lauring. I found something , and she agreed it needed to be removed. After the biopsy came she did a local punch excision, and then I was told everything came back okay , and it was scar tissue. A month later I got a a call from the medical assistant saying that I have to come back into do a wide local excision because that mole was at high risk for melanoma. I told her that did not make any sense because everything came back okay. She said there was additional testing done that they were not aware of. I became upset and spoke with Dr. Lauring . She told me the same thing, and was very cold towards me. I decided to get a second opinion, and found out there was no additional testing. She went ahead, and did a local punch excision before waiting for the final report. I ended up going to a surgeon to do a very deep excision because he said it was o stage melanoma. Horrible doctor, I am so glad I listened to my instinct.

Took my daughter in for a syst on her chest, already checked by her p.c. But referred here as a second option. Dr was in the office 5min and gave me two misdiagnose’s. Prescribed her an antifungal cream that she didn’t need at all. Cream would have ran me 67.00 but I didn’t have it filled because there was nothing there to begin with. She is a very knowledgeable caring physician with great bedside manor. I would give her six stars if possible.

I can't say enough about Dr. Lauring. I think she is the best of the best. She listens and is an expert.

If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Went in for an annual skin check and was charged for a medical visit. Office staff and Dr. Lauring are refusing to address the issue. I am not being billed for a visit that was to be covered at 100% by insurance.

Quick service, with excellent assistance dealing with prescriptions and insurance.

Everyone is super friendly, Dr. Lauring is great and extremely personable. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dermatologist.

My experience at Lauring Dermatology has been nothing short of excellent! Dr. Lauring is extremely knowledgeable and her office sets the standard when it comes to appearance, professionalism and quality of care. The absolute best Dermatologist in the Baltimore area!

I have gotten excellent care for the past 3 years. I have also referred several friends and family who also have been very happy with their treatment and results. The staff is always pleasant and professional. She has a busy practice. Dermatologists are not primary care physicians. Not a lot of hand holding. It is routine in dermatology to see over 50 patients per day. Chemical peels have inherent risks which are delineated in the consent forms. There are many other options rather than peels that are better and safer. They are just more expensive because of it. I have gotten excellent care for the past 3 years. GET A SECOND OPINION! Dr. Lauring spent less than 5 minutes with me on 2 appointments. She misdiagnosed my facial lesion on both visits. She prescribed multiple prescriptions that cost me hundreds of dollars out of pocket and didn't treat the problem. Her final diagnosis was I needed a cosmetic treatment not covered by insurance. My primary physician disagreed, sent me for second opinion. A biopsy by another dermatologist; revealed the serious nature of my condition. Nothing cosmetic about it!

This wonderful doctor cured my systic ache. She is very patient and a mathematical wizard. My experience was that she is the one that helped me when others said they had no other solutions. Thank you.

Our family is so incredibly grateful to Dr. Lauring and her staff. Last year, my daughter was suffering from a skin condition due to an autoimmune disease that was misdiagnosed by numerous physicians. Dr. Lauring identified the problem, provided options and immediately started treatment. She is an exceptional doctor who is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and cares deeply for the welfare of her patients. Her entire staff has been extremely responsive, caring, and kind. We are thankful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lauring for several years now, and have never found her or her staff to be anything less than competent and professional. Additionally, Dr. Lauring stays abreast of the most current treatments and techniques, and I trust her advice without reservation. She treated and resolved an allergy reaction in one visit, after another dermatologist had told me that there was no treatment for it.

Terrible experience at this office. Had a chemical peel done to correct light scarring I had on my forehead and it literally burned new holes into my head and now are indented scars. Dr told me it looked normal and scars would fade in about 8 months. No way this was normal. But now I'm seeking laser treatment to correct these scars from the chemical peel and the cost is 350$ a treatment! Stay away from this office if your looking for chemical peels! It is now 6 months later and I'm still going to get laser treatments on these areas. I'm about 3000$ out of pocket so far for what I've got done and still prolly need 2 more treatments. Extremely pleased with Dr. Lauring. Had a cancer spot on my face removed. Not even the slightest scarring. She knew what it was instantly and treated it immediately. She's my only choice for skin care

This place is awesome. The facility is immaculately kept, the staff is bright, young, and attentive. I see Mandy, the Physician Assistant. Even with my most severe issues, she always makes me feel comfortable.

Courteous, considerate and compassionate

I have been a patient of Dr. Lauring for several years now. She is quick and efficient. A no-nonsense doctor. Even after a lapse in visits, she was very aware of my history. I have recommended her in the past and would do so again.

We have NEVER experienced a time when both Dr. Lauring and her staff were not entirely professional, caring, friendly, and highly competent. In my opinion, Dr. Lauring is the BEST at what she does. Dr. Lauring is amazing - she has changed my life!! She removed a mole from my face with no scar whatsoever, and has always given me the best advice about whether the latest cosmetic "advances" are worthwhile. She is trustworthy, timely, and incredibly smart. I recommended her to my cousin, who now drives from Potomac to see her, and to one of my good friends. They both love and trust her like I do.
