My visit was amazing. Crystal is a pleasure and the best hygienist! Dr Boales is always friendly and while he does focus on the health of your mouth he takes the time to ask how you are doing!

The dental hygienist was so nice. She was very gentle and could see I was a little nervous. Talked to me the whole time, provided great educ tips and I would recommend this practice to everyone.

Overall my review is going to be negative but Dr. Boales is a pleasant person. His demeanor makes being his patient an "easy" experience. I was a patient for a short time several years ago. I wound up finding another dentist because he was always trying to sell me procedures I wasn't there for. That rubbed me the wrong way. The real problem is this: I had a filling done by him and had a crown placed by him. I've come to learn both need to be replaced due to his poor workmanship. In both cases there are "open margins" which means there is a gap/crevice between the filling or crown and the rest of the tooth. This area collects food/bacteria and if not redone will ultimately result in more damage to the tooth because you can't easily get to these spaces between the teeth to clean. He wasn't competent in executing procedures that I came to him for. If it was only one of the procedures I wouldn't be making this review. Everybody makes mistakes. I had only two things done by him and both were poorly done. I can't even chalk it up to having a bad day because they were done at different times. If you're interested in so-so quality but a really nice guy who makes the experience pleasant then he's the dentist for you. Was sent a coupon for 15% broke my tooth and had to get a bridge 3,800. Forgot about the coupon, cause who carries a dental coupon with them. Had my tooth pulled on August 17, coupon was good to the 20th. The office manager refused to honor it because I didn’t present on the day the plan was set up, even tho it still good for three days past my extraction. If your going to present coupons to your regulars you need to ask them if they have their coupon when they come for their appointment! They gave me a 100 back when it should of been 580! Why send coupons if you really don’t want to give them in the first place. I did talk to the dentist, it was like talking to a small children!!! Whoever’s in charge of the front office should be a car salesperson if you know what I mean!!!! I guess the feeling is garbage in, garbage out!

We have been patients of Dr. Boales for over 20 years.(four in my family). I went in this morning to have a simple cap glued back on. Immediately the assistant is trying to upsell me a root canal. Dr. Boales comes in and states he can clean up the base of the tooth, order a new cap and the procedure will cost $995. (no root canal needed). I said fine and they begin numbing the tooth. The assistant comes back in and states my insurance will cover 60% and I have to cover the rest out of pocket, I let them know not a problem. She states they need $250 upfront before they can proceed. For 20 years they have preformed work and have always sent me a bill for what the insurance didn't cover. I left the house without my credit card, so I called my wife to get them my credit card number. She picks up the call but is out for her morning walk. She lets me know she will call their office with the number when she gets back to the house. The assistant tells me she can't proceed without the $250 upfront. I again tell her my wife will be calling with the cc number before the procedure is completed. She told me to reschedule and come back when I have a credit card. I asked to speak to Dr. Boales, she said he was busy. I was told to get out of the chair and leave the office with my cap off after being numbed. Great dentist!

The initial Invisalign treatment went well. Before the treatment was completely over, I moved to Memphis and needed my permanent retainer. It took over a month of those getting to me and I called several times to ask for an update on status. I have since then moved to Chattanooga and need a replacement retainer (dog ate it - seriously); I ordered and paid for on Jan. 15; office called me on Jan. 30 to verify my address for shipment and here it is Feb. 9 and I do not have the new retainer. I have called the office 4 days in a row now asking for shipment information and no one has returned my calls. Poor follow up when a problem occurs. UPDATE: I tried for the 5th time to call the office and get an update with no one returning my call. Gave up and asked my credit card company to get my money back which they did. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now! Well, as much as one could.. From the moment you walk in the front door, the receptionist makes you feel welcome, and right at home. My dental hygienist is super gentle, and provides me with tips on how to improve my homecare, as well as encourages me to keep up the great work. I used to despise going to the Dentist. I honestly felt like some of them were mad, and taking it out on me. Now, I get my teeth well taken care of, have some laughs along the way, and don't come home with regret and pain. Dr. Boales and his highly competent assistants did a fine job in removing old crowns and correcting two cavities as part of a process of installing a bridge. The entire process was pain-free and they kept me informed about what was happening.

Great staff, clean office, quick and effective services

MY VISIT WAS EXCELLENT ,, MY PROCEDURE WENT WELL AND IS HEALING UP VERY WELL. DR BOALES HAS BEEN MY DENTIST FOR WELL OVER 10 YRS . THINK ABOUT THAT A SEC ,, HE AND THE STAFF MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT OR WHY WOULD I BE THERE FOR TEN YRS ??

Dr Boales is a true God sent. After suffering with years of teeth issues and lowered self esteem, Dr Boales and his team (thanks Ms Deb) made me feel at peace with all my decisions and are help restoring my smile. I couldn't thank them enough.

I went to this office because I read good reviews about it. But buyer be aware. Always ask for a predetermination of cost before you have any procedure done otherwise you will up paying for services you had previously done. My other dentist always provided me with a predetermination of cost before he did anything. It should be common practice but Dr. Boales office said it was a courtesy and they are not obligated. Big difference between a mediocre dental office and a high quality, full service, customer service focused office. I was charged $126.00 for a service I had already done with my previous dentist. I would have said no to this service if I was provided a predetermination of services and cost prior.

Dr Boales and Ms Deb are wonderful. I have extreme anxiety and they put me at ease from the moment I sat in the chair. The bridge work they did came out beautifully. I experienced no discomfort. They are a great team. I highly recommend this dental practice. Thank you

Dr. Boales and his staff have always been very friendly and compassionate during my visits. They demonstrate excellence with every procedure that I have had done; really taking their time to make sure everything is done right.

Worst dental experience ever! Went in for a back tooth extraction, after 2 hours I said I’ve had enough. They sent me to a surgeon after they had shredded my tooth to pieces in my mouth. The lady with the suction was beating the other side of my face up. She was so rough! Pieces of my tooth going down my throat, had to cough them up while the two of them were in my mouth. Never experienced anything like it! My mouth was tore up! They never even called to see if I was ok. Stay away! Worst dental experience ever! When I was a child going to the dentist was a horror show due to the abuse I received from my pediatric dentist. Drilling with no local anesthesia, being duct taped to the chair, slapped, hit, and my lower lip and mouth punctured with a scalar when I cried out in pain. Needless to say I had severe PTSD from those experiences. Dr. Boales knows this and has worked hard to undo all the psychological trauma I had endured as a child. If it wasn’t for him I would be miserable with rotten broken teeth and possible dentures at only 34 years old. He has given my smile and my confidence back. I have been a patient of Dr.Boales for years and here are reasons why I like the doctor and his staff: - They manage appointment time very well; I’ve never been waiting for more than 5 minutes. - They are very responsive, if I leave a message they always call back within a reasonable amount of time. - They are friendly and make sure that you are comfortable with the care you are receiving. - If you need any procedure they explain you the reason why it’s needed and how it’s done, and, if needed, provide you alternative ways taking care of the problem. - They are pretty accurate with estimates; I don’t remember having any discrepancies with insurance company. Easy to make and keep an appointment with very little waiting time.

My wife and I moved to Jacksonville in early 2001 and both of us had visited several different dental offices prior to an individual's suggestion that we check out Reedy Branch Dental. He was right in respect to Dr. Boles, Deb and the staff. And now, as long time patients, we have recommended Dr. Boles to several others who have asked for a dental recommendation.

Dr. Boales and his staff are outstanding in their professional skills and their caring attitude toward their patients. The practice was recommended to me when I moved to Jacksonville seven years ago. My experience with Dr. Boales and his staff has been superior, compared to practices I have used in other cities. I have recommendeded this group to others and will continue to do so.

I arrived just 2 minutes before my appointment time and expected to wait 10-15 minutes, but was pleasantly surprised to get called back by the hygienist right at my exact appointment time. My visit was quick, thorough and well worth my time.

Like many people, I do not enjoy going to the dentist. However, the staff and Dr. Boales put me at ease, where I actually enjoy going for my 6 month check up. Dr. Boales is very thorough and pro-active with caring for my dental needs.

Best dentist in town in my book! All the staff is great, Dr. Boales knows how to make you laugh and keep you comfortable. This place is now the reason I enjoy going to the dentist. Thanks to everyone who has assisted in all the visits I have been too in the past. I will refer for life. Thanks for all that you do!
