A week after operating on me, Dr. Maat’s medical license was revoked as a result of failure to comply with drug and alcohol prohibition issued by the Texas Medical Board. He had been disciplined by the Texas Medical Board twice previously. He was a practitioner I found through my insurance. He has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. I suspect he was under the influence while treating me. Do your homework before trusting anyone to operate on you. Very glad I found Dr Maat. He was able to help and find some other issues that no Dr was able to find previously. I will continue to refer him patients. Not only did he find out I had an iron defiecinecy but put me on iron infusion and I started feeling better. I'm grateful that he dug deep enough to find out the problem. Dr. Owen Maat was responsible for the death of my daughter. He was found guilty of drug and alcohol abuse as well as killing someone. He left the scene of the hospital after he perforated my daughters' colon and esophagus. He refused to tell the truth even with an autopsy report. I would not suggest him to anyone. My daughter had never seen him before and in 20 minutes he killed her. Dr. Owen Maat was responsible for the death of my daughter.
