Dr. Patrick Joseph O'Connell

I was seeing Dr. Patrick O’Connell at Sillect Medical Group & sad to see him go but I had to change insurance so I followed him to his new place of employment Dignity Health located on Stockdale Hwy. He is very caring & listens intently as you voice your concerns. He doesn’t hesitate to refer out to specialists. I highly recommend him to anyone for the best optimal care

This Dr has no regards for others peoples time! Go somewhere else, don’t waste your time! I got there at 1:15 for my 1:30 appointment, intake was complete 1:35, this unprofessional had me waiting for over 39 minutes, no signs of him at 2:15 I decided to leave, not once was I checked on. Ana his assistant said “ sorry but he is known to be behind schedule “ what kind of customer experience is he after?? Don’t book appointments you can meet Dr! Simple , now I see why you are taking new patients! There is no respect people’s valuable time here. No follow up from his office was made either ! Garbage service

So far I've called twice to schedule an appointment, two days I took off from work and Dr. O'Connell has CANCELLED on me! NOT RELIABLE!

He has been my primary care provider for over 30 years. I really don't trust anybody else with my primary care conditions. He is very truthful and honest and explains things exceptionally well for the lay person. Wait time is maybe 10 minutes and the office is very professional.

DR O'Connell is by far the best family practice physician in Bakersfield, or anywhere by my standards.

Excellent primary care doctor! Always takes adequate amount of time hearing you out and never rushes through his appointments. Soft spoken and a great listener. Always willing to refer you to a specialist if needed. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! I’ve been seeing him for almost 10 years.

Calm nature, easily approachable

Wait time can be a little long. But in this case I feel like it'd because people aren't showing up on time. Staff has always been helpful, it can take a while to get in.

We love Dr. O’Connell! So helpful and great whenever we need him. I highly recommend him for anyone!! Thank you for all that you do!

Mr O'Connell abandoned me in the middle of diagnosing a potentially life-threatening condition. He refused to provide necessary information to my insurance company and refused to discuss the refusal with me. Rather than explain his actions, he terminated our doctor-patient relationship and caused me great stress. There's no way I would refer to him as a "doctor".

The staff in the front is very rude and unprofessional. They take their authority beyond what they need to. They need to understand without patients, they wouldn't get paid. I'll be going somewhere else. This is a reflection of the Doctor.
