I would give him negative stars if I could. He messed me up for life. I was ambulanced to er in Wetumpka after a car wreck. I had 3 broken bones in my foot and 2 in my ankle. I was referred to Goldhagen for surgical repair of my ankle. I should've known something was odd when he walked in the room with a black eye. He cut my cast off, put an air splint on and said nothings broken. I called my primary physician. He told me to go to the er and have the cast put back on. The er doctor wheeled me to the light box and showed me where all my breaks were. I told him I believed him, it was Dr. Goldhagen that disagreed. I was ambulanced to Baptist South in Montgomery. Since 2 weeks had gone by, the er doctor in Wetumpka was hoping to get me in emergency surgery in Montgomery. Montgomery ER ended up making me an appointment with Dr Lindsey in Birmingham. By the time he saw me, I had 2 options, re break the ankle and do surgery (that should've been done to begin with) or let it continue to heal and do lots of physical therapy. No way was I opting for the rebreak. That was 3 years ago. I still walk on the side of my foot and with a limp. Stay away from Goldhagen!!!!

Dr. Goldhagen performed two knee surgeries on me back in 2000. He replaced my Acl and reconstructed my cartilage. I can say he is a great doctor, very personable and listens to your concerns. He keeps it real about the injuries and tells it like it is. I will never forget the experience and here I am 20 years later, I’m still active, able to run like and exercise with my son. Thank you Dr. Goldhagen

I had the worst experience with him. I tore my meniscus to where I couldn't even walk. When I came in for my appt, he & his staff treated me poorly. He wouldn't listen to a word I said. He diagnosed me with a kneecap issue despite the fact my pain was in a different area than he was talking about. He gave me a brace that is useless that I was unaware was going to cost me a fortune. I knew something was off. Next appt with him he manhandled me & I had to beg for an MRI bc I knew he was wrong.

Dr Goldhagen has replaced both of my knees, the most recent entailed only 6 hours at the hospital and zero pain. Great staff as well. Highly recommended

Without reservation, I recommend Dr. Goldhagen to family & friends: a concerned friend recommended him to me. I particularly appreciate that he explains fully the diagnosis, the possible treatments, & the results I can expect with each treatment. He listens to me as I question the different treatments & answers in "layman's terms" so I can actually understand his answer. My body alerts when it's time for my next appointment: I am always ready for my treatment which will alleviate my pain.

First visit I was diagnosed with arthritis in my knee and given an Rx, return in two weeks. Next visit, I told the Dr. the Rx didn't control the pain and I itched all over. Dr ordered an MRI and diagnosed a possible meniscus tear. Treatment would be physical therapy. For the cost of physical therapy vs MRI, why not just try therapy and see if that works. Better yet, if it was arthritis why not try a different pain med instead of $1,000's on the MRI. I resched an apt due to an emer & chrgd.

I had pain in three joints and his receptionist wanted to know which ONE I wanted to talk to him about that day. I drove an hour to get there, barely could scrape up the co-pay (I pay SO MUCH for health insurance, I can barely afford to go to the doctor). Six months later I still have shoulder pain, and don't have a car to go to another doctor. I would NEVER go to him again, he only wants your insurance money and co-pay. He doesn't fix you. DO NOT USE HIM if you want to heal!!!!

Emergency room said I had 2 broken bones in ankle/foot. Referred to dr goldhagen. Dr goldhagen said I had no broken bones just a sprained ankle took off my cast and referred me to physical therapy. After my ankle started swelling and hurting badly I went back to the er. The dr showed me on the X-ray the 2 broken bones, one being the talus bone. If I had not seemed medical attention and gone to physical therapy with a diagnosis of sprained ankle I wouldn't have walked correctly again.
