He had saved my life in January of 2016 if it wasn’t for his quick response and emergency aortic valve replacement surgery I would not be here today writing this brilliant Man gave me my life back thank you to Peter and his fantastic staff Iat strong memorial

CAUTION to ANYONE going into the care of Dr. Knight. He may be a gifted surgeon but beware to anyone who has a complication after surgery of any kind. He will not listen to you. Although his title will be attending physician you will not see or hear from him. In 28 days of agony I wouldn't wish on anyone I stayed by my dad's side after his routine heart surgery with Dr. Knight. They ignored the clear and obvious signs of septic shock for NINE days. Dr. Knight never once spoke to me in person until I went to bat for exploratory surgery which revealed his entire right large intestine had perforated and needed to be removed. He passed away at the young age of 66, only after the hospital broke his ribs and punctured his lung and the 60 lbs of accumulated fluid in his body seeped into his lungs giving way to pneumonia. Throughout his stay we experienced repeated HIPAA violations while they continuously did not contact me, his health care proxy, for major medical consents for things like dialysis and anesthesia. I post this only to warn anyone going into his care, as from what I've since learned- my dad wasn't the first to have complications and a horrible experience with post-surgery care.

Dr. Knight saved my life. He may be a bit shy and some people mistake that for his bedside manner. But he replaced my aorta valve with a mechanical valve in a 2 inch incision and I was up and going in a week or so. No restrictions after coming out of the hospital. He’s a very dedicated man. He is a miracle . No one will ever touch my heart like he has.

Peter Knight is a brilliant surgeon and has greatly improved my quality of life. I found him very amusing! Surgery for my husband was top! Wanted Dr. Knight to do the surgery as he was highly recommended by people who know who to ask for. Was very happy he took the surgery on. My husband is great and skis every winter out west and sails in summer. Very active and that was due to Dr Knight doing such an excellent surgery repair!!

One of the rudest and most arrogant physicians I have ever encountered. I understand that surgeons are notoriously lacking in bedside manners and I generally don’t expect much on that front as in surgery, patient experience is probably less related to clinical outcomes than it might be in other disciplines. That said this guy treated my 83 year father in a way that violated basic principles of human decency let alone any higher standard of patient care or respect that one might expect from someone who has chosen a career (that is or at least should be) focused on helping people . I was under Dr. Knights care 3 years ago today. The surgery was flawless, replacing my defective Aortic Valve with a mechanical artifician valve. I have been fortunate to not have any A-fib or other heart related issues. I did have 3 minor strokes related to incopmatability of meds NOT the surgery. In October 2018 i was finally cleared for exercise etc. I began a physical fitness program in Nov 18. So far down 53 pounds, hearts doing great and I will run my first 5k in May. Dr. Knight gave me my life back... it took some time and a great deal of perseverance on my part but none of it would have been possible without this man. Dr. Knight is by reputation and my own experience a superb cardiovascular surgeon. He is certainly one of the best in Rochester, and based on the statistics I reviewed on his outcomes, one of the best in New York and nationwide.

Had a wonderful experience with my surgeon and the staff at Strong Memorial hospital. Everyone was super there. Was put to ease with my surgery from the beginning to the end of my stay there and even after i went home. Dr. Peter Knight was truly a lifesaver for me.

The best of the best not a question... Saved my life and will never be able to think him enough... Dr. Knight is damn near god!!!
