Dr. Peter D Leff

Dr. Peter Leff is an amazing doctor! I highly recommend coming to him for wounds that will not heal.

My son was seen in the ER for my appendix. The ER nurses and staff were wonderful. He was assessed and taken to CT scan in a timely manner. He had surgery that night and needed to be admitted. When we arrived to PAV A, Ben, the admitting nurse, seemed super annoyed that we had arrived. Apparently we were supposed to go to PAB B but they did not have a room. While Ben, the med tech and transport shifted my son from the gurney to the bed, Ben was standing at my right side towards my head and didn't secure anything before they made the moved and my son's IV was ripped out. Once he was settled, Maggie, another nurse that was assigned to my son, attempted to place another IV 3x no luck. Ben then came in, tried another 3x, no luck. Then a nurse leader came in and got access on the first try. I was originally told that I was not able to stay the night because it was hospital policy. Yes, my son is 18, he was scared as he had never had emergency surgery and the way he was treated when he was brought to the floor by Ben, I was not comfortable leaving. I did have him contact a supervisor and I was allowed to stay. Ben also made it very clear that he was annoyed by my presence as I overheard him talking at the computer in front of my son's room that I did not want to abide by hospital policy. Overall our experience was not horrible. Ben needs to work on his bedside manner and pay more attention to detail when doing simple things like transferring a patient from one to the next. This would prevented the IV being ripped out in the first place. And, yes, I know getting an admission in the middle of the night isn't fun and not always welcomed as the nurses are super busy. I don't discount that at all. A nurse should still make a patient feel like they are going to be taken care of. Not like he is a bother.

Dr. Leff is an intelligent and excellent doctor , always concerned , considerate and kind . Most important he listens to your questions and answers in a honest n truthful way to help a patient to understand and relax as to what is happening to them . He’s helped me in so many ways . I’m sure everyone of his patients will be pleased to have the opportunity to be in such good hands . Thank you so much Dr. Leff .

Dr.Left is excellent doctor and generally surgeon I recommend him to anyone who needs to have surgery done

Dr Leff is an amazing surgeon! He not only talks to you like you’re a real person but he takes the time to explain things to you with kindness and respect. Everyone is nervous before any surgery. Dr Leff makes you feel comfortable and at ease. He’s calm demeanor and humble confidence makes him a great Doctor. I highly recommend Dr Leff and I would choose him again for any future surgeries.

Dr. Leff is treating a chronic wound which is continuing to improve. He and the entire staff are wonderful, caring and supportive.

Dr Leff became my doctor from an E R visit that lead to a hospital stay. Although I did not need surgery I was placed under his care. Throughout my hospital stay and once discharged he and his team were amazing, caring, and super nice. I went for a follow up with him today, my blood pressure was super high, Dr Leff personally walked me to the E.R for immediate treatment. Again amazing and professional Doctor. Was referred to Dr. Leff by my PCP. He was professional, thorough AND had a sense of humor! That combination is sometimes hard to find. I honestly feel that I am in very good and capable hands with Dr. Leff.

I had a great experience from the ER to the OR to the med surg floor.

Personally I'd wish wound would heal quicker but that is not the Dr's fault. I do have isdues with Hartford healthcare billing dept. They are always 3 steps behind the insurance company payments and want me to pay for something already approved by ins. Like I said Dr's are great but billong is messed up Billing is still messed up. I received a bill for 32,000 in the mail online shows 207,000 and real should be about $5,200. As I said previously, Dr Leff on Tuesday or Dr Tinkler on Monday are terriffic as well as the nurses. Great doctor. Listens to your concerns and incorporates your ideas towards treatment if applicable. Great bedside manner.

Dr. Leff is a superb surgeon and caring physician. I have always received exceptional care.

Dr Leff has been treating me for foot wounds. He has been excellent and is trying everything to help keep jo toes. He first response is to try to save my toes vs some surgeons who are quick to suggest removing my toes. Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy was the first treatment suggested. He has also been very good with helping to manage the pain I am in.

Very knowledgeable and pleasant person. He took his time during the consultation and was excellent at step-by-step procedures prior to and after surgery. His office response immediately to follow and urgent calls. Staff was caring and effective in everything they did prior to, during and in follow up after surgery. Would highly recommend.
