Dr. Peter Matthew Sylves

Very professional, and caring physician.

Today was my 1st appointment with Dr Sylves (Found out about him via Internet, by random choice, while looking for a new general doctor option to switch to upon my moving to Butler PA from Pittsburgh PA). He was very attentive to my health matter. He spent good amount of time to find the best solution to my problem. I felt myself like a VIP patient. Definitely will use this doctor again.

one-star review does not justify Dr Ben's lack of care provided, by far the most negligent and irresponsible doctor I have ever been to in my entire life. I have a FMLA pending at my job since late October, and Dr Bens nurse finally retrieved the paperwork for him to fill out out of his desk (nearly 4 months later and multiple promises from office staff that it would be done.) I am astonished that a doctor could be so negligent, careless, and absent-minded, while holding a license to practice. I am moving at the end of the month, and I must say I am almost more excited to get a new healthcare provider than I am to buy my first home. If you value your well-being, or if you expect any attention to your diagnosis at all, I would absolutely avoid this doctor at all costs.

Was rushed by Dr Ben, told by office staff he did not tell me things which he did, and did not return my call about returning to work. I must now return to work with a possible hernia or torn groin muscle, with ultrasounds scheduled after I must now work 3 12 hour shifts. It is likely I am going to injure myself worse, and could be avoided with a dash of communication. I am unable to safely walk up and down my stairs, but am apparently expected to return to work. I have had zero unexcused absences from work in the last year, this office is jeopardizing that.

If you have any kind of a mental health diagnosis do not go to Dr. Peter Sylves. He will focus strictly on that. He is condescending, has no compassion, and has a deplorable bedside manner.

He became my PCP after Dr. Carlson moved over to Butler Hospital. Needless to say my experience with Dr. Sylves was underwhelming. The visits were rushed, he didn't want to hear what you thought about your issue, just wanted you to answer his questions and he would decide the best course for you. He rarely looks at you, mostly typing on his laptop sitting across the room. And don't dare suggest what you feel is the best course as he will become offended. I thought it was about me, no him. I have since found a much more compassionate PCP who actually wants to hear what is on my mind.

He was my PCP at the Butler VA until he left to concentrate on his private practice. I looked forward to the VA required annual check up knowing it would be thorough. He set the bar high for those seeking quality health care. DB

Dr Sylves was my primary care physician for years.. i absolutely love him. He is thorough and most of all he cares for his patients well being. I had sone serious issues that went undetected untill i stumbled upon him. Dr Sylves. I would rate him top tier physcians not only in western Pa but on the tri-state area.
