Dr. Shrank is by far the best Doctor I have ever dealt with. With numerous spinal Injuries plus knee and shoulder.... Dr. Shrank was my shoulder surgeon and I can attest he is the BEST!. He takes the time to fully explain every aspect of your surgery. He is not the Quick Dr. He takes his time with a conservative approach. His professionalism , courtesy and ability to listen to his patients is only surpassed by his skills!! AAA+

Dr. Schrank and his team are incredible. They are compassionate and highly skilled. He performed a total reverse shoulder replacement for me. Everything was explained carefully before the procedure and the use of a 72 hour block after the surgery left me pain free for 3 days and then only my needing Tylenol for minor discomfort for a few days after. The surgery resolved all the pain I had prior to and has significantly improved my quality of life. Dr Shrank is an amazing surgeon. His staff was great.

About 5 years ago I went to see Dr Schrank in Setauket. After the exam he diagnosed my shoulder as needing Rotator cuff surgery and prescribed 3-6 months physical therapy; prior to surgery. After waking up from surgery Dr Schrank told me my shoulder was one of the worst he had ever seen. He then said he had tried something a bit different the nerve blocker used was new and he said it might last 12-18 hours. So the next day I thought, we’ll this is going to wear off soon so I’d better take the prescribed meds before the pain. Not realizing the time that passed I took a pain pill. The next thing I realized was that it was a more than 24 hours after the surgery, and still not one bit of pain! So for the rest of my recovery; I did not need to take another pain pill after surgery at all. (I think the per op PT really helped ) About a week or two later I started physical therapy. I remember being totally shocked at how I had no pain in my shoulder. After being incapacitated with a bad shoulder.for a year. I now have 95-98% movement I’m my shoulder without pain at all thanks to Dr Shrank. I need to make an appointment so he can diagnose repair my right shoulder now. He is the only one I trust. I had reverse shoulder replacement by Dr SchrAnk around 2 years ago. Had pain in physical therapy so stopped and went back to Dr office. PA told me I had a shoulder fracture and discontinue physical therapy. I did. Flash forward to about a year ago and pain worse. Also effected the use of my arm and hand. I went back and saw PA told me to get cat scan and make appointment with Dr SchrAnk. I did than and no appointments Available soon so was waiting. Meanwhile I used my right hand, arm,, shoulder to try to do some garden work. Nothing heavy duty. The next day I was in excruciating pain. I called the dr office and Asked about emergency appointments and was told they don’t have them. So I had to wait another week and they squeezed me in to see Dr SchrAnk in another office. So Dr schrenk looks at the cat scan and turns the monitor screen Around for me to see. Then he tells me my shoulder is fractured And because of my osteoporosis he cant repair it. I wAs shocked. Then he pawns me off on another doctor for a second opinion and they even make the appointment for me. I have religiously had bone scans done and was never told I had osteoporosis. I have since gotten copies of my bone density reports and will bring them with me to my appointment for a second opinion. I cancelled my appt at Orlin and Cohen and my going to see doctor of my choice for my second opinion. Amen. Bad experience. Bad treatment. I’ll never go there again. Dr Schrank is a great surgeon. He operated my left and right shoulders after I had previous surgeries from 2 different doctors. Now I can sleep fairly well at night.

Dr. Schrank takes the time to explain Your condition in terms you can easily Understand. Bryan Paul of the physical therapy section is very knowledgeable, professional and motivating. The administration staff is very friendly and helpful.

Dr Schank is # 1 in my book he did wonders for my sholder. His team is top notch. Went from a failed rotator cuff surgery at HSS IN NY City to a reverse shoulder replacement by Dr Schank got 85% of my shoulder back. 5 years later it's still going strong.

Dr Schrank did my shoulder replacement 3 years ago now I need my other shoulder replaced and he is the only one I would have do it

i was suffering with so much pain in my shoulder but from the first visit with dr schrank he listened and made a plan. in the end i had to have the shoulder replacement surgery. it went so smooth and the outcome was so fantastic and i owe all that to dr schrank! I am so glad this office was reccommended to me by my primary physician. I would highly reccommend dr schrank to anyone in shoulder pain.

I was in severe pain when I first saw Dr. Schrank. He clearly described all my options and scheduled surgery for one month later. After surgery I had 3 months of physical therapy and other than the immediate post-op pain, I was pain free. It is now one year since my surgery and my shoulder mobility is excellent. I can do everything I need to and all pain free. In my opinion Dr. Schrank is a miracle worker!!!!

This was truly my best experience with operative procedures and follow up. The overall diagnosis was accurate and treatment was precise. My PT was excellent as I was set up with a knowledgeable and attentive staff. I would highly recommend Dr. Schrank to anyone needing an orthopedic procedure. Dr. Schrank and I both hoped that a plan of extensive physical therapy would get my shoulder back to pre-accident condition. When it was proven that I needed a surgical correction, Dr. Schrank and his team explained the procedure in depth and everything went as smoothly as suggested. He has an absolutely wonderful bedside manner. His office is run efficiently and with the utmost attention to customer care. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of his care.

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Schrank to family, friends, or anyone. I had experience with him when I broke my left shoulder in 2013. Almost a year ago he did a new procedure on my husband's badly torn (more like non existent) rotator cuff and we never had a reason to doubt it wouldn't turn out great. A year later my husband's shoulder feels better than he imagined it would. Dr. Schrank is a wonderful doctor from his medical knowledge to great bedside manner. Highly, highly, highly recommend.

Best shoulder Dr on the Island. Full recovery and mobility.

I had a total shoulder reversal replacement and was very satisfied with Dr. Schrank. From the moment I woke up in recovery I had no pain in my shoulder. I am very happy with my shoulder after years of pain I am now "pain free"! Thank you so much Dr. Schrank!

Dr. Schrank is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. He did not rush to perform surgery on my right shoulder until all conservative methods failed.He performed surgery and feel my shoulder feels great. I have full range of motion and no pain at all. He is very thorough and explained ever treatment and the risks of surgery and PT to follow. His PA's were very professional and caring and assuring.

Dr. Schrank is an excellent Doctor. After injuring my left shoulder, I went to see Dr. Schrank (patient referred). Dr. Schrank sent me for an MRI, which confirmed his diagnosis. I then tried physical therapy. It was then determined I needed to have surgery. Dr Schrank did an amazing job, in a little more than three months I have almost complete range of motion, and now back out on the golf course.

Dr. Schrank performed surgery on my left shoulder. He corrected a bone spur. Since the surgery, I have full range of motion. He listened when I was in pain and I am very satisfied with the results. Dr. Schrank and his staff walked me through the entire process, they were extremely professional and caring.

Excellent surgical skills. Takes time to explain condition & treatment options.

DR. Schrank and his entire staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. He arranged my MRI immediately which confirmed his diagnosis. He was NOT cut happy. Recommending rehab and then reevaluation. The rehab worked. My 16 yr old daughter had also gone to him with a different injury and same results. He did not make you wait an like some other Doctors.
