My husband broke his knee cap in 2 places it was very swelled up. After surgery he has a leak coming out of his knee this Rhett person could care less kinda scary keep going to different drs and another surgery have the same problem I would stay away from this office it's a shame drs mess you up in surgery and then don't correct it

Awesome staff and Doctor! I was scared of what was going to have to be done to fix my broken finger. Dr. Rainey showed me the x ray and explained everything he would have to do he was very caring and straight forward. His staff were very comforting and help me calm down. I ended up with a plate and 6 screws and need more surgery for another problem with my hand the only surgeon I will trust to do it is Dr. Rainey and his staff. Awesome staff and Doctor! No experience. I was looking for an orthopedic doctor for my husband, but after reading these reviews... No thank you! It's obvious the dr or staff could care less.

Paid the doctor $350 for a 25 min visit for an xray, exam, and a cortisone shot. The pain in the elbow went away for about 30 days. I lived with the pain for a couple months, and then saw a physical therapist in Athens. I need a note from Dr. Rainey to get dry needling. They expect me to pay $170 to visit them again, just so that he can write a note for my therapist. This is highway robbery. I will never see this doctor again. He will never get any type of recommendation from me. When I saw him in the office, he told me what I already knew in that I had Tennis Elbow. This is what is wrong with today's doctors. There is no customer service. It is all about the doctors pocket. I am self pay. I have insurance, but it is in essence a catastrophic coverage. I will pretty much need surgery for it to cover anything. I hope you are proud of yourself Mr. Rainey, because in my experience, you are no Doctor. We've had 1 broken leg 1 fractured ankle 2 broken arms and 1 fractured arm, been receiving care for my family and me from him for about 17 yrs! Excellent service!!!

Worst customer service ever I said there for an hour and I finally went out and ask when my turn would be and she said she would check I heard people come and go I was never actually checked in or initially.

Couldn’t be more disappointed in my experience. My husband had a torn patella tendon. The staff is disgustingly rude. Wouldn’t help my husband out of the car or even onto the XRay table for his post op appointment. Every time we called they acted like we were such a hassle. His one allergy is tramadol. Guess what Dr. Rainey called in? You guessed it. Tramadol to my epileptic husband (even though it’s in his records and I verbally told him that medication would cause him to seize). THEN they gave information to a lady that called to check on him (who’s not family and not on the paper to give information to) about everything that happened during surgery, his recovery and his meds. Dr. Rainey did surgery on my husband’s shoulder. His experience from start to finish was outstanding as were the results. We are very happy with Dr. Rainey and would highly recommend him.

Can't reach nobody in the office

Had a full knee replacement. I have to say it was really ruff n tuff for the first year, but was well worth it in the long run. I have had several operations by Dr. Rainey, and he also treated my mother when she had a broken hip. Unfortunately, I believe the doctor is not as dedicated to each patient as much as he used to be. My last encounter with the doctor was a follow-up of surgery on a broken finger. I am definitely in the senior citizen-range and I believe he thought "good enough" was: the finger is unable to be straightened, slightly skewed to the side, stiff, and because I used to be a typist, a very big block to my going back to work since I am in severe financial difficulty. I would caution anyone regarding this doctor and staff who I used to believe in, but thinks that "good enough is an appropriate quality of service.

Very dissatisfied with communication of this office. Very dissatisfied after I received my medical records and very dissatisfied with no follow up care or treatment. Searching for new refferal.

Broke my leg over a year ago and still having issues. No care for patients other than their money no follow up or physical therapy just drive through medicine. Will have nothing more to do with them if at all possible

We had an awful experience with Dr. Rainey's office. We have waited 2+ months for the doctors office, the insurance company and the hospital to get together to get my husbands surgery approved and still nothing. Each entity blames the other. I just feel like we were left hanging out to dry with no one taking the reins to get this figured out, each place blames the other. We even got letters from the insurance company stating that it had been approved twice but the dates were missed because no one could get on the same page. As it stands now, we are going to another doctor. My husband went into the office today to get his records for the new doctor. Front desk tried to get Roxanne to come out of her office to speak with my husband but she refused, had receptionist go into her office instead. Receptionist came back and told my husband that she would get records for him. Great, except the CD that we gave the doctor of the MRI that we paid for had been disposed of without our consent. Now we will be out the cost of another MRI. They also wouldn't give us his x-ray because we have not paid the bill that they sent. We haven't paid because we are disputing the amount, they charged us $1003.00 for a ten minute appointment that was really just a short conversation with the doctor and an x-ray, then we were sent to Roxanne to schedule the surgery. We feel that we were given the run around from this office with no one caring enough to get the situation fixed so that my husband can have the surgery that he desperately needs. And we feel extremely OVERCHARGED and taken advantage of. This experience was a total disappointment and my husband has been suffering unnecessarily because of paper work and everyone who was involved showing a total lack of caring. Years ago this office was amazing. Staff was nice and kept you informed. This past year or so they have not been that great. Staff is rude. They say they will have the nurse call you back and they don't. Waiting time is ridiculous. They claim it's because they are helping other patients, but they barely spend anytime with you at all. Doctors call out while your in the waiting room. They don't call you to make appointments to get test results. Good luck trying to get a referraI. I have very mixed feelings about this office. I called a day ahead to ensure what my fees would be when I arrived in case rescheduling would be best. I was told I didn't have a copay just to get here and am aaked for $70. Trying not to get rude I asked her why she didn't tell me that yesterday and she says she didn't know she needed to. ???? So concerned about the swelling and deformity of my leg I paid it OOP to realize I could have used my FSA. I asked to refund the payment so I can pay using another card they can't. Then wait time was around an hour then get to the back for more wait time. Just to get a PA and not the doctor. Wasn't at all what I was expecting but he genuinely appeared concerned and attentive. I feel like he addressed my concern the best he was able but to then be referred to come back to actually see Dr. Rainey made me a little unease because that's another copay when I thought I was seeing him today. Just a very caring doctor

I've had two knee surgeries with Dr. Rainy and I have no complaints. The staff was friendly to me and always helpful. I will use this practice when needed.

They do not have good customer service. You call and leave messages and no one returned your phone call. They say we will have the nurse give you a call back to follow up. No one ever follows up or give you a call back. When you call back two or three days later they tell you that the office is closed and the only option is to call back on the next business day. They don't take a message for the nurse they don't apologize they don't care. If you are inclined to have that type of service by all means use this doctors office. Otherwise my recommendation would be find someplace that has more stars then this place. The office staff is completely horrible. They are disengaged. They are not friendly. The nurses are OK. Very caring and friendly. I love his staff and nurses. Would recommend to anyone.

We realize the wait time is long. The reason for this is we are a very thorough practice. We also do our own xrays, and xrays are read at the time of service. This process takes time and once the patient is seen, we try to take time to explain the diagnosis and answer any questions. Our goal here is to give compassionate and thorough care. We try to treat each patient as if they were our own family. We feel quality of care surpasses any time frame. We do apologize to those who feel the wait was too long. Have a blessed day! If you know of a Dr. Office that's less than a 2hr wait, where is it? My wife had surgery on both ankles, left foot 3 plates, 17 screws 2011. Removed all of it 2 yrs later. Right foot in 2017 1 plate, 7 screws. A week later, 2 screws backed out. Straight to the hospital, he fixed it that day. So if he's not there, he's across the road in surgery. One of the best Dr.'s I've met. & a 2 hr office wait, with the friendly, beautiful women that work there, makes it the best Dr. Office to be stuck in

I have a very competent ENT who practices primarily in Athens. My ENT in Athens recommended for Dr.R to evaluate a condition that I have on my feet, and already looked at by 2 podiatrists. My wife called to make an appointment. One was made a week forward of the call. The patient forms the receptionist assured would be mailed to our home in Winder - 6 days later they still were not received so the appointment was cancelled.The voice on the phone conveyed an unfriendly attitude from the 1st call

Where do I even start! Dr Rainey has done 2 full knee replacements on me and it's changed my life, my son races motocross and has had broken bones and when other Drs said he was going to need surgery Dr Rainey and his optimism was able to heal him correctly with only casts, he is going to be fixing my bunions and I am super excited about this, he is not only a great surgeon he is a great person and generally cares about helping people.

I am very unsatisfied with service I've received . I asked for pain meds and got stuff that does not work at all.

The surgery was a success, but the communication lack there of at this office​. After surgery wasn't told that they added another procedure until received papers in the mail 3weeks after surgery. Instead of Dr. Rainey explaining the surgery and what he had to do we were left with nothing until today talking to her insurance company come to find out the third procedure was not discussed. Anything could've happen to my mother but by the grace of God it didn't, because the third procedure was not discussed. So lack of communication is not good at all. So make sure if anything is done with this doctor u talk to him after surgery to make sure that what was discussed was done. They helped me with a hand issue and now they are helping me with my back and hip. Wonderful staff. Clean facility. You do not wait a long time to see the doctor.

I didn't have a patient/doctor relationship with Dr. Rainey, so this is not a review.

Wasn't told what diagnosis was by PA. On top of that after seeing another Dr. PA diagnosis was not right and was basically text book. Was given a steroid shot in a place that served no purpose. Could tell PA was not concerned with truly helping. Was told you only see Dr Rainey if you have surgery. Overall not a good experience.

amazing doctor

This doctor sent me to get an MRI on my knee which I did. After reviewing the MRI he said I had a Meniscal tear and other than that he wasn't sure if anything else was wrong. On the day of the surgery he discovered that I did have a meniscal tear but also that my ACL was completely shredded. So instead of doing an ACL reconstruction he removed my ACL performed the meniscal repair, put me in a crappy neoprene brace (which the nurses put on backwards by the way) and sent me home. He came out after the surgery and informed my parents of what he did and that I should be fine to play again without my ACL. Three days later we discovered that he didn't even stitch up my incisions! Well seeing that I'm a competitive lacrosse player we immediately got a 2nd opinion and were told that the same MRI that Rainey had received had on it as the first line item "Acute tear of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament" . So he should have known before he even did the surgery that I needed an ACL reconstruction. His botched up job on my first surgery added over a month to my final recovery time as my new orthopedist had to wait for the swelling to go down from my first surgery before he could perform the reconstruction of my ACL. I would not recommend Rhett Rainey to anybody and personally think he should have his license to practice medicine revoked!!! This doctor sent me to get an MRI on my knee which I did.
