Dr. Ricardo Vasquez

My husband was a patient of Dr. Vasquez for years. I made an appointment for myself for the first time this year and I also am very pleased. He explains everything very well, breaks it down to layman’s terms.

Dr. Vasquez, is professional, personable, of course knowledgeable, and very kind. The staff are ALL very kind and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Dr. Vasquez explained every step of my procedure and answered all of my questions. Carrie ( not sure of her title, or spelling of her name) is knowledgeable, very patient, and warm. She was with me through the entire process, and explained everything in advance. She is very funny, and was great at making me laugh through the entire procedure. I have a lot of Doctors appointments and Dr V. and his staff are the very best. I couldn’t be happier with the service’s that I have received from Vascular Center and I think our community is really lucky to have them.

The doc changed my access last week it was 4th one and the doc and staff did a great job made me feel Comfortable from the time I walked in

Dr. Vasquez has performed four vascular surgical procedures on me and did a wonderful job. He took time to answer all my questions and exercised a lot of patience in doing so. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Vasquez.

Unfortunately, I don't always find the level of kindest and compassion elsewhere as found at Dr. Vasquez's staff showed me. Dr. Vasquez's staff always as if they care.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ricardo Vasquez, his staff, and Monroe Hospital. I have had many previous hospital stays that were always were misery. This experience was perfect in every way. From the care to the food, it was excellent. Thank you so much.

Word cannot express how grateful I am to have Dr. Vasquez as my Doctor. Dr. Vasquez has saved my life 3 times and I am thankful with all of my heart. He truly cares about his patients and is a dedicated doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Vasquez and patients can trust him to the fullest in full confidence. Very competent.

Excellent experience. The staff is pleasant, professional, conscientious, and thorough. They all made me feel very comfortable from my first visit and through my procedure/follow up. The office has the most beautiful artwork I've seen, which was also made me feel quite comfortable. Dr. Vasquez explained my problem and the procedure to fix it. He, too, was thorough, professional, and kind. My entire experience there was great. So glad that Bloomington has such a good vascular surgeon and an equally good staff that supports him.

Dr. Vasquez is excellent as a doctor and is a very caring person. Office visits were timely and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Dr. Vasquez is a wonderful doctor. I had a problem with the GSV vein in both legs & not only did he provide excellent results, he took the time to listen to me & explain in detail what was wrong and how the problem could be repaired. His expert knowledge, experience & professionalism made me feel at ease and absolutely sure that I had been referred to the right doctor. He is kind, caring, listen to all my concerns, answered every question, explained what was happening every step of the procedure, Always made me feel comfortable, greeted me with a smile & I always left his practice feeling blessed. His office staff is a reflection of his warm personality & professionalism. The staff made me feel important & special by greeting me by name & with a smile. I am so pleased with procedure that Dr. Vasquez chose for me. My legs and ankles feel better than they have in years. Thank You Dr. Vasquez! I had a VNUS vein ablation done here. The office staff was extremely disorganized, it took months just to get my records transferred from the previous vein doctor I had seen before I moved to IN. At my first appointment Dr. Vasquez was in the room for exactly 35 seconds, glanced at my leg, and told me to schedule the procedure. At the procedure itself he asked if I had any questions, then seemed irritated and impatient that I actually had some. He clearly wanted to hurry up and get to the next billable procedure. I guess typical for a surgeon but still disappointing - not a good bedside manner at all & did not make me feel comfortable with him. They also didn't wait very long for the numbing to kick in before doing the ablation, so it caused a severe burning pain! They even said some people kick during the procedure it hurts so bad! Maybe take 5 minutes for the lidocaine to sink in, like they do at the dentist?? They also don't give very detailed aftercare instructions, and I still didn't get my question answered about when it will be safe to take CBD again after the procedure. I had to look up info on other vein sites and do my own research as far as healing time, when it's safe to do squats again, etc. The best part of the whole thing is his nurse practitioner, she was very patient with me, actually treated me like a human, got to know me a little bit, and was very encouraging through the whole procedure. A wonderful place to go I had a 20 + stabphelboectomy on feb 12 they were so kind caring n informational took wonderful care of me!!

I was treated with such care and compassion by dr. Vasquez and staff. I was very nervous about the procedure and they made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this dr. Excellent results!

Dr Vasquez was always late for my appointments and spent very little time with me. Not once did he examine my legs or pay close attention to my questions or concerns. The only office staff member who was friendly and helpful was the receptionist. In addition, the waiting room was always crowded and reeked of cigarette smoke. I got the impression of a medical practice that sees too many patients and does not spend sufficient time to treat them. It seemed more like a money making operation than a health care facility. I did not return for surgery and have since sought evaluation and treatment elsewhere. After finding another facility and doctor, I realized how deficient Dr Vasquez and his operation are. I have recommended against this practice when asked.

As I just told Dr. Vasquez, the body reflects the head, and all of his staff most definitely reflect his professionalism, thoroughness, kindness and humor in all they do. They were all hugely instrumental in removing my initial trepidation of seeing a vascular surgeon since that sounds so ominous! Thank you for that!

Met the doctoronce for 10 minutes a year ago, subsequently had 2 ultrasounds. No follow-up consultation, just a scheduling for the next test in 6 months.

Dr.Vasques treated my mother-in- law for narrowed arteries in her rt. leg. He was very kind and professional in explaining the diagnosis and after, the prognosis. The procedure was very successful and he even showed us the video explaining the resulting good blood flow as a result of what he had done. We were very pleased with his skill and bedside manner, even helping his patient get dressed. ???? we highly recommend him to anyone needing his special skills in vascular surgery. I appreciate the quality of care I received and the friendliness of the staff.

Dr. Vasquez has performed two vascular surgeries on me and could not be happier with the results. His knowledge and follow up is second to none and his office staff is top notch.

First of All Dr. Thomas Sharp did not refer me to this Dr. If you think paying $2940 for 30 seconds of care and waiting in the waiting room for at least 45 minutes being the first patient of the day is ethical and professional go to him. He did nothing but have his assistant give me a prescription for compression socks. I could not stand his arrogance long enough to go back for the vein ultrasound. He had the unprofessional attitude that puts people in bankruptcy court. I charge what ever I want b/c I can. I will never go back to him and I will never refer him.

doctor was right on the problem. fixed it and all went well. all office staff is great and went above and beyond to make sure i was taken care off

In April, Dr Vasquez performed the endovenous laser ablation of the great saphenous vein in my right leg. This throbbing, aching, vein was etched in my brain and I was on the brink of insanity from the constant pain. Wearing a compression stocking only exacerbated the pain. The procedure was performed at the Indiana Specialty Surgery Center. I was put under a light general anesthesia which probably lasted no more than 45 minutes. Most the information I read about this procedure indicated the use of only local anesthesia . In hindsight, I was pretty nervous about the whole thing so I was grateful to be knocked out. I had read many other doctor’s advice as well as patients’ experiences’ about what to expect in terms of recovery and the information varied greatly. Dr. Vasquez recommended no running for two weeks. I was training for a half marathon at the time and I can personally say that it was about two weeks before I could run without any noticeable pain in my upper thigh where the laser had been inserted. I ran the mini marathon 3 weeks post procedure…no problems. I still cannot get over the difference in my leg…it is like night and day. The only evidence of the procedure is a tiny brown spot on my leg that looks like a freckle. Very pleased with my outcome!!!! Thanks a million!! Sclerotherapy Review After a very successful laser vein ablation in my right leg, I followed up my procedure with a session of sclerotherapy in Dr. Vasquez’s office. This service is offered here two days a week in the afternoon. I was disappointed. In order to prepare for the procedure, I spent a lot of time watching countless videos on the internet of the procedure actually being performed as well as reading other vein centers websites about the procedure including aftercare and peoples personal reviews of their experiences. Spider veins are a symptom of leaky valves in the reticular veins. If you don’t treat the underlying cause, the feeder/reticular veins, your spider veins are going to come back. It is also a very detail oriented procedure that requires precision and patience and multiple treatments. It is not covered by insurance either. I felt like the doctor was rushed and perhaps even a little green in administering the medication and did not inject nearly as many veins as I expected. For aftercare I was told I could take off the sticky bandage tape that had been wrapped around my legs later the same evening and that I didn’t have to do anything else and that this one treatment would take care of all my veins. Almost all of the websites I reviewed indicated wearing compression hose continuously for 24-72 hours after the procedure and then daily for a minimum of a week to help compress the veins which aids in their eventual collapse. Also, you are supposed to stay out of the sun. Based on the service I received, my observation of the procedure through the internet videos, the review of other vein center websites, and other peoples reviews of this service, I think this office has a way to go to get up to snuff to providing a good sclerotherapy service. I did notice that they have updated their website recently. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of places in Bloomington that perform this procedure. Dr Vasquez & his office staff are amazing!! Dr Vasquez performed an endoluminal AAA on my Mother in December 2016 and she's doing wonderful! I am in the unique position that I work in the operating room with Dr Vasquez. To this day, he still asks how my Mother is doing? That's some amazing follow up care, almost 1 yr later! Anyone should understand that when you not only work with a surgeon but trust him enough to operate on a loved one, he is well thought of, highly respected and highly recommended!! I visited his office for help, literally on my knees. He first asked if I was on drugs, yea, then the visit was over. His dismissal of my problems and "quick to assume" attitude almost cost me my life. I had a vasculitis infection that affected my heart & lungs. Ever heard of giant cell issues doc? They're a matter of life & death.
