Been seeing dr arnold for a while after a friend Recomended him. Bright man, helped me through extremely difficult circumstances

I was 16 when I saw him just after leaving treatment for an eating disorder He kept telling me if I lost weight I would be happy and that he lost weight and was happy and that working out would change my life, he went on for 30 minutes about this. As someone just leaving treatment for an eating disorder I wasn’t extremely vulnerable and was lucky I didn’t end up slipping up he was reported to the boards but I don’t think they did much, I left him and now am a healthy 19 year old but still think back to what he said and can’t believe a doctor could say these things.

This individual does not understand the dangers of benzodiazepine dependence, nor does he know the correct tapering methods as he wanted to get me off a strong dose im 3-5 days when it takes much longer than that to do so.

I found it incredibly offensive when this psychiatrist suggested to me that I, as a single female, rescind my college application for an elite women's college because I would have a harder time finding a husband. I had not addressed my sexual preference in any meeting, nor had I made any implication that I was interested in finding a life partner (I am not.) He also, at one point, asked me to list off the names of my friends, which I found very strange and random, and took as a personal attack.

This psychiatrist couldn't put in less effort into the care of his patients. Gives very traditional, run of the mill advice while half-dozing on his sofa chair. It's a shame status and privilege create more professionals in this field than the desire to change peoples' lives.

A friend recommended Dr. Arnold and I am so glad she did. He is smart as a whip, approachable and calls me out when necessary. professional, reliable and dependable. I have come to rely on him a great deal - in the healthiest way.

He's a cash cow. Didn't get anything out of talking to him, had more motivating conversations with friends at coffee shops. Put me on a few different 'medications' and was going to put me on more until I got fed up with him and his unwillingness to get me off these drugs. I'm tapering off with another provider, but this guy, this guy took years off my life that I won't get back. He has no idea how to properly taper off a drug that has been in a person's system for multiple years.
