Dr. Richard J Kenney

He met me in prep, had me sign a release, then turned me over to his capable nurses.. Did not see him prior to anesthesia or upon recovery.

Saw my 85 year old mother in the hospital with severe stomach issues and did scopes. Never called me after to give me results or any information on her. She has Alzheimer's and I have power of attorney, which he was aware because I gave consent. NEVER communicated with me at all until a week later when I called the office. By then culture results were back but of course I was never called, even when she was started on 2 new meds! I will transfer her care elsewhere.

My appointment lasted less than 5 seconds after waiting for months to be seen. He did not ask a question or provide an opportunity for me to ask questions. His nurse was very friendly and helpful, however.

Like to thank Dr. Kenney again. I got a piece of steak stuck in my throat on the 4th of July. He got it out and stretched my throat. I can swallow again!!!

Rudest receptionist I have ever met in all my years and unless you want to be forced to listen to Fox News I say run and find yourself a new Gastro person.

Dr. Kenney performed a surgery on my grandmother for her Hemorrhoids. After her surgery, he rushed through speaking with me about the details of the procedure. He is not a Dr. that likes to take the time to go through everything. He didn’t explain how the surgery went. Didn’t explain what he prescribed for her or why he prescribed it. He didn’t want to spend anytime answering questions. I didn’t even have a chance to ask everything I wanted because he was so rushed. He has no time for anyone

Dr. Kenney & the Southwest Gastroenterology team neglected to obtain/discuss medical symptoms & history for mild to moderate GI issues prior to unnecessarily prescribing a colonoscopy via the phone. In-person, Dr. Kenney was still not open to any discussion of symptoms or history, but was keen to push prescription medications. He was not however, willing to explain how they work or side effects. His best advice was to 'try & see what happens' and 'it could be worse, you could have colon cancer.'

Great caring doctor. He removed a large cancerous polyp. He saved my life.

I need a gastroenterologist for a chronic condition and never felt the trust I would like to have with a doctor and it was very hard to get a office visit with him.
