About Richard Keith Sharp
Reviews for Richard Keith Sharp
Dr. Sharp is personable, approachable, and took the time I needed to get my questions answered. I never felt rushed.
I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and 15 minutes in the exam room. Why? Because Dr Sharp likes to talk. He ranted about COVID for 15 minutes before asking me like two questions, then he gave me a prescription and rambled about some other irrelevant things for 20 minutes. I didn't feel like he spent the time to really understand why I was there and then didn't explain the prescription at all. I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and 15 minutes in the exam room. Waiting for 30 minutes in a cold room to see the doctor he saw me for about 7 minutes and then I had to wait more just to be notified that I had to wait more. Not a good experience
I received a voicemail today from this office saying they haven’t seen me since my first and ONLY appointment last year. It reminded me that I never gave them a review. I came in last year because I was having a lot health & heart issues. I almost walked out after reading this sign but I decided to give the doctor the benefit of the doubt. I should have just walked out because it was a total waste of my time. I felt so rushed & talked over. I left feeling so frustrated but I luckily found a better doctor that actually took the time to talk to me and answer more than 3 questions. Don’t waste your time here. They obviously don’t want you to waste theirs. I received a voicemail today from this office saying they haven’t seen me since my first and ONLY appointment last year. I called Dr. Sharp's office to ask if he was accepting new patients after being referred by a friend and was pleased to be accepted as a new patient. I arrived to his office exactly at the time of my appointment. I waited for 30 min. before being taken to an exam room and another 10-15 min. before I was seen. To my surprise, a nurse practitioner student entered without Dr. Sharp. She was polite and told me she was his student and would be seeing me for my appointment. I told her I was happy to be seen by her but I was confused because I thought I would be meeting with Dr. Sharp. He was the doctor to whom I was referred and with whom I scheduled an appointment. She replied that he may "pop in" after a few min. The nurse practitioner listened as I described issues with anxiety/depression and with hypothyroidism. The first thing I told her was that MDD runs in my family and that I have been feeling especially hopeless and not like myself recently. We then discussed the thyroid problems. After I went over my concerns, she said she was going to go ask Dr. Sharp some questions then she would be back in. I sat in the exam room and listened to the nurse practitioner and Dr. Sharp discuss the issues I had described and their thoughts for the next 10-15 min. She then came back in the room and ignored the problem of depression while stating that she and Dr. Sharp felt like they wanted to tackle one issue at a time. With that, she said she would like to up my thyroid medication and have me come back in for a test in 6-8 weeks. When I asked how that would help my depression symptoms she said that managing my thyroid level would help with fatigue but that they could increase the dosage of the medication I already told her was not working if I felt like I wanted them to do that. Unsatisfied, I told her just to fill the thyroid prescription and left. When asked why I was scheduling the appointment, I told the receptionist I was coming in for depression and thyroid problems. At no point during my visit was I asked about depression or anxiety nor was I given any kind of worksheet or questionnaire. [When I visited my new doctor, I filled out two different questionnaire's before he even saw me. Based on my answers and family history he changed my prescription in the first five min.] As I listened to them talk outside of the door, I realized nothing they said could not have been said in front of me. Instead of Dr. Sharp coming in and introducing himself while educating me and the nurse practitioner, they sat in the hallway and made me wait alone for another 10-15 min., unaware that I was still listening. The thyroid levels they saw in my charts on which they based the decision to increase my prescription were a year old. Instead of doing new bloodwork, they just upped the prescription and sent me on my way for two months, even after telling her I did not want to continue struggling for two months. The prescription was never received by my pharmacy. [When I spoke with my new doctor he said, "that's absurd. I can get your bloodwork done today and tell you by next Monday what we need to do about your prescription."] Overall, I could not have been more unimpressed with my experience as a new patient of Dr. Sharp. I called Dr. David Kimball's office in Lehi after reading some Google Reviews and they got me in within two days. I waited for 5 min. in the lobby. I waited for about 10 min. in an exam room. Dr. Kimball was kind, empathetic, understanding while also being pragmatic. He was interested in helping me feel better that day as opposed to making me wait two months. I'll be cancelling my 6-8 week follow-up appointment. I also am beginning to understand the suicide epidemic in Utah. It's not hard to see why there is such a problem when you go to a doctor, say you're struggling with depression, and have already been diagnosed by a previous doctor only to have the problem ignored and not even researched when you bring it up. I told them I felt hopeless and they basically said, "you're just tired." I called Dr. Sharp's office to ask if he was accepting new patients after being referred by a friend and was pleased to be accepted as a new patient. … More

Richard sharp is a good doctor
I love Dr Sharp! He always speaks with you very thoroughly. He takes the time. He is amazing and I will always go to him.
Dr. Sharp showed he actually cared about me and getting me well. He was thorough in trying to figure out the best solution, explained to me what he thought I had and why, and asked if there was anything else he could help me with, and all of this was on his lunch break but he still made the time for me. Very great doctor.
Several members of my immediate family go to Dr. Sharp’s office. Dr. Sharp caught my husband’s cancer in time for him to be successfully treated. Three of our grown children have seen Erin Roberts a few times. She is a good listener and has always been very helpful. We are happy with our care there.
I just saw Dr Sharp as the first time new patient. I had the exact experience of the Levi Crockett review in terms of being seen by a student, a long wait time, and the discussion outside the door that could have happened in the room. However, those are all passing things. Every doctor and every office in the world will have bad days, days when they're running behind, and days they need to teach. What you really want in a doctor, is someone who knows their stuff, knows how to listen, and someone you can actually get in to see when you need to. Dr Sharp's office met all of those expectations for me. I would definitely see him again. If something is bothering you about a visit, speak up and say something while you're there. Don't just wait and give bad reviews later. When the doctor and his student were talking outside the door I got up, open the door, and ask them to come have their conversation where I could hear too. They obliged, we're very respectful, answered all my questions, and I was really impressed with the doctor's insights. I just saw Dr Sharp as the first time new patient. I’ve seen a couple of bad reviews for this doctor and from what I’ve seen, they can’t be more off-base. My first visit to Dr Sharpe was the most informative and best one-on-one visit I’ve had with a doctor in years... possibly since I was a child. He took the time to go through everything in my chart from A to Z and really explain things on a basic human level. He was cheerful and simply the kind of doctor that you not only know cares... but also really knows what he’s doing. I will be going back to this office and making him my primary care physician. I could not be happier with my experience. I understand that sometimes people misunderstand a situation or get something in their head, so they try to tear a good person down. So, I really feel it’s important to leave this feedback so that you know that you can bring your family to doctor Sharpe and know get the best and most up to date treatment... and that’s what matters in the end, right? The internet has made it so that we think we know what we need for ourselves and our families before we even talk to a doctor... but, I’d rather have a good doctor that can do his job efficiently and effectively than a doctor who just does what I think should be done... or worse yet, just prescribes the medications someone thinks they need or maybe they just want. Anyway, just one mans opinion but it’s a very solid one that I don’t see changing any time soon. Dr Sharp is one of the most knowledgeable physicians I have seen. He takes the time to explain everything to you in a way that you can understand. He listens to you and let’s you ask questions, and no question is a dumb question.
Dr. Sharp always takes time to give detailed answers to our questions and explains any medical conditions very thoroughly.
I was really disappointed with this office and staff. The staff wasn’t welcoming or friendly at my visits. I’ve had to wait up to an hour in the waiting room at times, and then another 30 minutes in the exam room waiting for the doc. The doctor was very rushed and brushed over concerns. Had questions about a bill, but you are forced to call their billing department, and then the office will call you back, never received any calls after multiple attempts. I ended up paying the bill on tests that were done that I never even got the results from. I was really disappointed with this office and staff. The staff wasn’t welcoming or friendly at my visits. Great doctor, is very nice and really caring about his patients.
Dr Sharp is always so kind to answer any question I have. He takes the time to explain what’s going on and how to treat it.
I love this guy. (Dr. Sharp.) Seriously one of the nicest, caring, sincere individuals I've ever met. He's competent in his job and has years of experience. But more than that, he always takes the time to really talk to you. He's a credit to his profession. We need more docs like him.
I have really been pleased with the quality of service that I have received. He definitely listens. I know if I go see Dr. Sharp my health concerns will be addressed.
I've been seeing Dr. Sharp for around 20 years. I think he's great! I particularly like the explanations he gives about your condition. He draws out diagrams on the paper protectors of the medical table. I love the detail. The only concern I have is that the past few years his office hours have been getting shorter, so it's been harder to get an appointement with him, which is why I took off one star on the rating.
One of the most humiliating experiences of my life. I was fat-shamed in a condescending, highly non-professional manner. "Say no to the next donut or you won't fit through the door on your next visit." I'm not unaware of my appearance and had actually gone to Dr. Sharp on the recommendation of a friend with similar health issues. Needless to say I will not be wasting his time with a return visit. My family and I have been patients of DrSharp and Jennifer Jenkinson for around 10 years and they are wonderful physicians. Its unfortunate that their nurse by the name of Ray has ruined this relationship for me. I have had some recent health issues and have never in my life been treated so poorly by someone in the healthcare industry. To say he was rude and condescending is an understatement. Then to have him hang the phone up on me is forcing me to reconsider their office as my primary care physician. I have seen over 25 specialists in the last 3 yrs and this was the 1st Dr. that was completely unprofessional, wasted my time with nonsense about his life (and other patients stories), and blatantly ignored my symptoms and reason for being there. His staff is nice and helpful but the Dr. is a joke! My advice is find someone else and here's why: Let's start with the fact that I waited about 30 minutes in the waiting room just to be taken into the exam room to see a sign posted stating that in order to save me time I need to limit my questions to no more than 3! Wait what?! So after contemplating what my top 3 questions should be for the $300 or $400 Dr bill, Dr Sharp came into the room and briefly let me tell him that I had severe stabbing pain in my abdomen for two months and needed a referral to see a specialist. I also managed to inform him of my brain cancer diagnosis, chemo, and radiation. Once I completed my 5 minute overview Dr. Sharp felt it necessary to ask me if I was Mormon, pretty sure that is not something a primary care physician needs to know. That question popped up 2 more times as Dr. Sharp proceeded to talk for 30 minutes about his parents LDS mission and how members in his church call him for advice after hours. He even went into detail about an instance where he felt that his ward member was having a heart attack and wouldn't call 911 so he asked him "do you love your wife? Well, does it bother you that you are going to die and she is going to have sex with another man?" I tried to bring the conversation back to my severe pain and asked with my past cancer/chemo history if he thought this could be kidney or gallstones. He pondered this and then said "hmmm I guess you did say you have back pain". After my self diagnosis, he gave me the referral for a CT scan and I asked for it to be sent to the AF hospital. After waiting hours for him to send it and calling the hospital myself a few times I got a call the next day from his company's imaging center to set it up, proving that he was not listening to me. I fixed the issue got it scheduled on my own. I had to call the office for results twice because he never returned my message. Diagnosis = gallstone that I had to determine myself. He is very nice.
I've known Dr Sharp for nearly 20 years. He's still the best diagnostics doctor I've ever been to. That's saying something, too. I'm "blessed" with lousy genes so have had 19 surgeries over the years, with more to come if I live long enough, so have been to a lot of doctors. I have a couple specialists Dr Sharp has referred me to who are also good. I trust Dr Sharp and recommend him to honest people who aren't looking for a doctor as a safe space, but actually want the truth. I do have to say, however, that the support staff in Dr Sharp's office just don't seem to know how to return calls and how important that is. How many clients does that list? I'd be gone if not for the doctor's great level of caring and knowledge. I like them all, too, with 2 notable exceptions who shall remain nameless... I've known Dr Sharp for nearly 20 years. got a text to review while sitting and waiting for my appointment. Appointment was at 4:05, its 4:43 still no visit from the doc.
I've never been made to feel like such an inconvenience, before, in my life! After putting up with a plethora of symptoms for five days, hoping that my body would heal up on its own, I finally couldn't handle the dizziness, anymore. i called off of work, and made an appointment with the nurse on shift; Jennifer Jenkinson. After registering, and being processed, I sat in my assigned room, only to realize that I could hear every word from my neighboring patients, and every member of the staff!! Every word! I knew it was my turn when I heard the nurse ask how to pronounce my name. As soon as she sat down, she acted as though she was in a hurry. She responded to my description of illness as though I was being ridiculous or melodramatic. I felt like a fool. She did nothing. After five days of nausea, dizziness, hot and cold flashes, aches, fatigue, and three days of being unable to eat, I went in expecting to find someone who was going to help me figure out what was wrong with me! Instead, I received indifference from someone who couldn't be bothered to help me. She finally gave be a script for an antibiotic, after she shoved her fingers into my upper abdomen, and discovered severe pain. She gave me some general diagnosis of a couple things that "could" be my problem, and then sent me on my way. She didn't ask if there was anything else that I may need help with, or if I had any additional questions. I will never be back to this clinic. I cannot in my right mind believe any physical therapy exercise is worth $1,200.00 an hour. On my visit they led me to believe that part of my visit was covered with the doctor visit charge. It took them 5 min to teach me how to do an exercise. They charged $96.00 for this (on top of my regular visit). This works out to be $1,200 an hour. When I called to tell them I thought this was a little high price they had me fill out paperwork to get the price reduced. They denied it with in hours and told me they wouldn't lower the cost. They also did not call me with the result of my blood work, and when I called to find them out, they explained that they Never call with good results. Excellent Doctor. Listens to concerns, asks follow up questions so he understands more fully what your talking about. Explains what he believes you are trying to say to verify he understands, then once he gains consensus he moves forward with explaining what he feels is the issue. He follows up with more questions about what medications you are currently taking & how you feel it is working the gives the option of keeping things where they are and following up on 30 to 60 days, increasing dosage & following up, or decreasing dosage & following up depending on what you are there for; in my case depression, anxiety, migraines, & severe back pain. I really love Dr. Sharp and Dr. Jennifer I can't remember her name. Both are so amazing and So is the rest of the staff. Always doing their best to fit you in. I am getting ready to move and want to take them with me closer to where I will be.
Doctor failed to conduct my examination in a manner that was compliant with Medicare requirements, therefore the visit was declined by Medicare and I am supposedly on the hook to pay him 270 exorbitant dollars so that the Medicare discounts will not apply to this visit. I cannot trust him to look out for the best interests of my wife and me. The staff of Revere Health tried to take the moral high ground as though they were working hard to comply with Medicare, and somehow I am to blame.
I absolutely love Jennifer Jenkinson, NP! She is thorough, personable, and takes time to explain the condition. I highly recommend this office.
Dr Sharp is an excellent doctor and I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.
