Richard A Shlofmitz

Dr Shlomitz may be a great doctor and there is no doubt in my mind that he is. But what good is a great doctor if you can't get an appointment with him? I have tried getting an appointment with him several times, only to be scheduled with another doctor.

Everything that is said about his ability to save people is true except getting him to talk to the patients family he is so busy he doesn’t have time for that aspect I am so disappointed he couldn’t find time to explain to me about my husband he sent two of his assistants and they were wonderful i am sorry I had to write this but even doctors make errors

Great Cardiologist!

I went into St. Francis Hospital to see Dr. Shlofmitz on the referral of my cardiologist. The hospital staff were all kind, considerate and patient. Dr. Shlofmitz was going to do 1 stent, but the angiogram showed more. He was able to stent 2 and avoid by-pass surgery. Fantastic!

Saved my life in 2012

In spite of being on a Mediterranean diet and taking Pravastatin and Zetia for the last 17 years and being on a whole food plant-based no oil added vegan diet for the last 5 years, I developed significant blockages in two main coronary arteries almost one year ago. Richard Shlofmitz diagnosed the problem on an angiogram and carefully placed stents in both arteries. I'm almost 70 years old and no longer have any chest pain, I go for vigorous walks without a trace of angina, thanks to Dr. Richard Shlofmitz. I highly recommend him!

Found a blockage in the widowmaker of my heart tha lad was 90% blocked my original cardiologist sent me home with a calcium score of 765 told me come back next year went to st Francis for 2 nd opinion and Dr Richard head of cardio saved my life by doing a angioplasty immediately after a angiogram showed blockage best doctor I have ever been to and I have been to many at 75 years old I feel great after 1 month thank you doc ps he gives u his cell if u need to talk to him right away what doctor does that?? The best of the best. Had a stent put in and I was out in 8 hours. Feel great ! Highly recommend

There are not enough stars to properly rate and sing my praises for Dr. Shlofmitz. He saved both my parents. Dr. Shlofmitz has been so kind, responsive, extremely communicative, and promptly and proactively followed up with test results and recommended treatment plans. He truly makes his patients (and me, as a concerned daughter) feel special. They just don’t make doctors like Dr. Shlofmitz anymore – he is THE gold standard.

After a MI and two stents at another hospital where 911 took me, I emailed Dr Shlofmitz that the spasm had subsided but had not gone. Sir called me at 5 am and gave me confidence. I saw him, upon discharge, with the CD. After his golden hands did my angio and another stent, the spasms never returned!! I am his grateful patient since 2013! He does EVERYTHING right all the time! This man literally saved my grandfathers life and I will forever be thankful to him!

He is human. He tells u like it is. He will not let u b released from hospital, unless he himself speaks to u or sees u in person he is as CLOSE TO GOD as u can get.

Excellent doctor! Very professional, caring, always calls back and answers questions. Definitely recommend him.

I have an appointment with Dr. Schlofmitz tomorrow. I have been under his care for about 5 years. He inserted the "Watchman" in to my heart to prevent any further strokes. I suffered a massive stroke in 2012, and was in the boon docks but I was given tPA and IV blood thinner. I recovered almost 100 percent. I decided St. Francis was for me and I was assigned to Dr. Levine and Dr. Scholfmitz. I was on many blood thinners and we discussed the Watchman that I had researched because I had A-Fib which could not be ablated. On 11/18 at he age of 85 he inserted the Watchman. I made on blood thinners for less than 6 months and now take one 325mg Ecotrin daily which is a coated aspirin. Dr. Schlofmitz has recently been promoted to head of Cardiology at St. Francis. His college, Joseph Levine is now head of the arrhythmia department at St.Francis. I am lucky to be followed by two of the finest specialists in the treatment of heart disorder.. .

Don’t walk to his office...Run! He is the best. He makes you feel so much better when you are feeling nervous. No other Dr gives out their personal cell. I am thankful everyday for him. His staff is excellent and equally as caring.

He made sure I had proper modulation. I still have my timbre and I can go out for my Bagel Boss

Dr Shlofmitz is my cardiologist for the past 18 years,a compassionate,highly knowledgable,and never keeps you waiting in vain for an answer ,always there for you.In times of emergency he will attend you never an assistant!

Finally My General Practitioner Dr. Tahmina Naveed recommend Dr. Richard Shlofmitz who was finally able to pinpoint my problem with an Angiogram and basically saved my life That day along with The Surgeon Dr. De Mao and their incredible staff at St. Francis Hospital. The best doctor I have ever been to - he saved my life. Kind, compassionate and extremely competent, clearly he is passionate about his work and his patients. He is extremely busy and rightfully so - he is more than worth the wait.

In my 63 years i have never met a kinder or more caring doctor . His expertise is remarkable and his reassuring personality is welcoming. He is quick to reply to any concerns and puts your mind at ease when you are concerned. He is a very special human with incredible skills

Very good doctor though extremely busy. Difficult to get an appointment, maybe weeks later but worth the wait. He is an expert in stent procedures. As Chairman of Cardiology at St. Francis Hospital, he delegates assistants to visit patients admitted in the hospital, for follow ups.

The best Doctor my husband Samuel ever went to. He treated my husband and I like family. They call him a God and he is!!!

I called this Dr and he responded in an instant. I was happy that he returned my call so fast. I may just switch all my paperwork to this Dr. As well he has excellent phone etiquette which is something they teach you in sales jobs. My personal experience with Dr. Shlofmitz is that he is the most competent caring person I have ever met. I was scared for my life and he made me feel that he would do (and did ) everything for me to survive. In all my follow up appointments he has continued to be a special person. He saves people with heart problems ; and he has the biggest heart. He has saved my life and I recommend him as a cardiologist. His work at St Francis Hospital is outstanding.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shlofmitz for about 8 years. I am firmly convinced had it not been for him and his care I would not be alive today to write this. He has been exceptionally on point with my care and diagnosis and recently reached out to me while he was on vacation so that he would monitor my care. Caring, Professional, and most important, a medical genius.

Dr. Shlofmitz' expertise has saved my life several times over the past 14 years, he is not only competent, but very caring!

Waited over 1 hour for my scheduled appointment. Doctor spoke much too quickly, not giving me a chance to explain my symptoms. Subscribed medication without asking if I had ever had previous problems with this type of medication.
