Very efficient and knowledgeable.
I arrived early for an appointment booked for 5pm, and ended up waiting for over half an hour past my appointment time to be seen. People who arrived after me were taken to be seen before I was. The office had very evidently booked multiple patients at the same time for one doctor. The front desk staff did not warn me that the wait would be excessive, nor did they proactively update me on when I would be seen or apologize for the delay. It took over an hour for me to finally see the doctor. Very unprofessional to make patients wait that long and treat them this way.

The doctor was cordial and helpful.
The staff and Dr Shepard are pretty amazing. The main lady at the front is funny and really nice. Shepard made me feel as if I had been seeing her for the past 30years when I got my first pair of glasses. She is really knowledgeable and able to explain things I had questions about.

From check-in to the exam to the on boarding process, everything was fast, friendly, and exceptional service. I was very impressed with all the employees and the support they offered. The eye care specialist went over all the results of my exam and provided education. It was fast, efficient, and friendly. Great job! Thanks for the experience. I’ll be back. The front desk weren’t very nice, and unfortunately made you feel like you were a complete inconvenience for coming in for an appointment. I wouldn’t go back.

Been going to the Belmar location for years. Always been great. I wear contacts but have had some difficulty finding the right lense. Dr. Winnick and his staff worked with me to find the perfect lense. 5 stars! Job well done.

There was a $38/person hidden fee for "digital imaging in place of dilation" could have been more properly disclosed. It is written in the paperwork we filled out, but was in the second paragraph on the second page and, amidst the shuffle from room to room for the exam, neither my wife nor I caught it. Dr. Winnick was great with both me and my 10 year old. He was very thorough and even identified issues that I had not been told before. Those issues were nothing that altered our prescriptions but should be monitored for changes over time. The staff was great and making sure I received my contacts prior to a trip and informed me of a promotional rebate for my purchase. Overall, it was a great visit. Avoid this business! As the other reviewer said--I've been going here for over a decade. Scheduled an appointment yesterday and received 4 phone calls since asking for my credit card over the phone. I have gone there several years now and have never missed an appointment. I really liked them up until now. This year I got a called from some random number saying that if I don't give them my credit card number over phone, they were going to cancel my appointment. The woman was very pushy to get my card number. I told her I was planning on going to the appointment, but I never give my credit card number over the phone. This felt very sketchy to me. Absolutely the worse vision Appt I have ever had!!! Not even kidding you when I say I saw the Dr for under 5 mins. She had me read one line and showed me 4 different images to rate before saying my vision was perfect and no correction was needed. Asked how young of patients they were equipped to see. Was told 5, great I can do my almost 6 y/o at the same time. Yeah right. They are not equipped to see any one under probably 10. My daughter cried when they said it wasn't going to happen for her appointment because it took too long for them to take the images of her eyes. Next we are about 100% positive that they prescribed the wrong prescription for my husband. He is able to see better with his glasses that he bought earlier this year vs the contacts he was "fitted" for at his appointment. Next I had to correct them on what our vision benefits are. Couldn't even quote benefits correctly. Thank goodness I know our plan and the benefits. Oh my and the voicemail I got from them right before they closed saying they under charged us and that apparently I don't have insurance but my husband does. Um excuse me. I'm the policy older for the insurance plan he is on!!! Not only that but I work for the insurance company my benefits are through. They also stated that they under charged for his fitting??? Um you charged us $42 for a contract fitting in which the employee gave him a set of contacts and solution before walking away. Check my account and they just took it upon themselves to charge my card an additional almost $100. You were not given that authorization and that is fraud!!! Called them the next morning. Same rude front desk lady answered the phone. Had to go in for my husband to be seen my a different ophthalmologists. That one was much more competent. She agreed that the rx the prior one gave was off and that there was NO CHANGES TO HIS OLD SCRIPT!!! They also had to refund me for the difference between the charges as they couldnt read the paperwork correct and completely changed my date of birth, thus why they couldnt find my insurance plan. I normally go to vision works but my husband schedule my appointment here since he normally goes to LensCrafters for glasses thinking that this office was run by them. I saw Dr.Shepherd who was rude and unprofessional. Iv worn contacts since I was 12 using the same brand of contacts. Tell why this lady proceeds to change the brand to a different brand Iv never used or heard off. And then tells me well we don’t have your exact prescription so it’s okey if you can’t see from these. When I tried them on I completely couldn’t see from my left eye. Who isn’t the right mind would give a customer contacts they can’t see from ??? Not only that but they charged me for a contact fitting when I have been wearing contacts and wanted the same brand I normally wear. The front desk girls where rude and unprofessional and couldn’t provide an explanation on why I was being charged a fitting. I immediately went into the bathroom and switched back to my old contacts. When I went back to the front desk and informed the receptionist that I would like to talk to the doctor about switching back to the same brand since I couldn’t see from the ones that I was provided. I used to love this practice. The past year has really gone downhill. I called to make an appointment with the doctor I’ve always seen, they told me it’d be with him, then I ended up seeing a different doctor. He’s not even there on the day I went. Then they ordered the wrong contacts for me. It took over 2 weeks for my original pair to come, then they told me it would take 2 weeks for the replacement pair. It’s been over 2 weeks and I keep calling them and they’re not answering. I drove over 45 minutes each way to not even get to see who I wanted, and now I’ll have to make that trip again due to their error. Pretty disappointing. I used to love this practice. I was at this location Saturday (1/18/20) night and had a rather horrible experience. My girlfriend and I both had appointments at the same time. She went through the initial part of the exam and saw the Dr. and had her eyes dilated. They put her in the waiting room and said they’ll be back in 15 minutes. Understandable, usually they had left the patient in the room but it seemed like they were really rushing patients and trying to get out on Saturday night early. The issue comes when the Dr. proceeded to continue to take additional patients into the exam room while she was sitting in the waiting room with dilated eyes for 45 minutes. There were patients that checked in after my appointment was completed and she still had not come back. When trying to talk to the front desk they were completely rude and unprofessional. This was a horrible experience so much so that I don’t even trust my prescription. Was disappointed in my experience, was told I needed to schedule an appointment for a "contact fitting" once my contacts were received at LensCrafters (this took 3 weeks longer than I was told it would take). Once they got in they called to tell me they were in and that I could now schedule the fitting, they were booked out a week.. so I waited an additional week. When I went in for my appointment they literally just handed me the contacts charged me $72 for the "fitting" at the front desk and told me to schedule another week out to go over the fit and pay for the actual contacts. Went for my annual eye exam in August and got my prescription updated and switched my contacts. Got my trial contacts and the doctor told me the staff would call to schedule a follow up appointment. Never heard anything and tried to call myself but always got a voicemail and never heard back. I recently tried to use my updated prescription to get new glasses but the doctor filled out the experiation date incorrectly so the prescription couldn’t be used. Went to try to get it fixed and the girl at the desk told me that since it had been so long since my intial exam I would need to do a whole new exam for my contacts and that I could get the glasses prescription fixed then. Hi, I had an awful experience working with Dr. Richard E. Winnick & Associates practice. The first visit, they "lost" my appointment. After getting rescheduled with a different doctor, I have never felt so unwelcome or rushed at an appointment. They refused to check my bifocal vision (which I was only placed into a year ago) and said it was fine. I'm at the eye doctor because it might not be fine. In addition, when testing me in contacts, her response was well I'm not rushing you but they should work. I was unable to see clearly in the contacts they placed me in. While transitioning me into the lens crafters side then shared that I was in single vision glasses when I am in bifocals. Unfocused and unprofessional. Worst experience with Customer Service that I’ve ever witnessed in Optometry. I was told (not once but twice) that if I encountered issues with my contacts, that I would be able to receive a refund. I went through multiple visits to try and correct the situation but unfortunately was unable to do so. When trying to receive a refund, they suddenly changed their mind and refused keeping their word on issuing one. A staff member and the manager Teresa, both were very rude about it. Basically saying, oh well, you’re loss. It also doesn’t help that both doctors visited, were either let go or quit within a few months period. Speaks volumes on the internal issues!! This place is such a godsend!! I’ve been needing an eye exam for a long time, but I kept dragging it because I only wear my prescription glasses when driving, and I don’t drive much. I finally decided it’s time to do it because my previous glasses had been given me headaches for the last two months. I first made an appointment with another eye doctor close to where I live, but my appointment was canceled for absolutely no reason. I was notified through email...then I tried another clinic but didn’t want to wait for two weeks for the earliest available appointment. I went into LensCrafters in cherry creek mall on a whim, asking them if they take walk in for eye exam, I was told they would normally do it but they were fully booked on that day, which was a Sunday, perfectly understandable considering the location. I went home that night, booked my eye exam for the earliest available appointment, which was on Tuesday, took me a minute! I went in today, the seles person who greeted me was super nice and friendly, instructed me to sign in and start the paperwork. The doctor’s assistant took me in while I was still working on the papers, said she could get me started, and I could finish them when I wait for the doctor. I really appreciate the efficiency! I was seen by Dr. Jeung, he was very nice and patient, absolutely a breeze to work with! The whole process didn’t really take that much time, but I felt it was very thorough. I noticed in my email that my next eye exam was already booked which was a year from now, and they’ll also send reminders a few weeks before the appointment. That is just the nicest feature ever! I wish I could get an eye exam annually but it’s so very easy to get lost in the back of my mind. I love that they already had the appointment booked in their system and will remind me when the time comes!
