Dr Howard was a poor communicator and visited me ONCE during my hospital stay after my emergency hip repair. He was flippant about my shortened left leg due to him putting in a rod that was not long enough. I gave him one star because there is no way to leave zero.

My 4 year old had a severe fracture of her upper arm and we were sent to Wake Med where Dr. Howard did her surgery. He was wonderful. Great bedside manner and was very thorough and explained everything to us from beginning to end. Eight weeks later we are healed and back to normal. I highly recommend Dr. Howard and his staff!

I was in an accident, Dr. Robert Howard was my trauma surgeon. That was in 2014, I am still in his care, I am now making annual visits. I cannot even begin to say how thankful I am that Dr. Howard is my surgeon, it has been a long road to recovery after reconstructive surgery. Regan and Howard of WakeMed are probably in the top 0.0001% of orthopedic surgeons on the planet, and I'm an expert, even though I didn't want to be. Both got me through 2 separate complex and difficult surgeries, one spinal and one hip, both outcomes were better than anyone thought they would be. You can trust these guys with your life, I have.

I just had a total hip replacement and surgery went very well. He has a great , calm personality as well.

Dr Howard is an excellent doctor he did surgery on my shattered tibia and put a plate and screws he and his team did a great job!

This wonderful doctor puts the patient first. He explained carefully the extent of my injury and the needed procedures. Wonderful bedside manner. I would recommend him highly.
