Robert L Mitchell

Not sure if this is the right Dr Robert Mitchell but, here is my review for a Dr Robert Mitchell. Went to the ER for a possible concussion with my daughter. He passed it off as she was making it up. No bedside manner, hygiene was terrible. He never washed his hands when entering the room. Did not perform a neuro exam on her. He ordered a head x-ray, to see if she had a skull fracture (still confused on this logic, if he didn't believe us). When asking about his diagnosis for her he said she was fine but gave us discharge paperwork for a head injury. When asked if she had a concussion he replied: 'no, she's fine'. But if you have any questions I would follow up with Vanderbilt (a bigger hospital 1.5 hours away). We left the ER very confused. The next day my daughter's symptoms progressed. We went to her pediatricians and got a proper diagnosis. And instructions on what to expect and how long to expect. If Dr. Mitchell would have just taken more time with us and taken us seriously, I wouldn't have a complaint. But the man was awful, and I would not recommend him.. This Dr. is unprofessional to say the least! My opinion is that he needs training on medical ethnics. I would not recommend him, due to lack of bedside manner. He was telling me the diagnoses before he even looked at me or ran any tests! Needless to say, it was more to it and I'm glad, I got a second opinion! I would like to know if others have had similar experiences or other issues.... ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION! If you question the diagnosis, even more of a reason to get a second opinion! Better safe than sorry.....It's your health! Some issues left untreated/misdiagnosed can cause irreversible damage. You know your body better than anyone, trust your gut feeling! Please share your experience about Doctors, good and bad! It holds them somewhat accountable (public opinion says alot) and lets others know if they experienced similar issues and/or repeated behavior. This is just my opinion and experience on my visit! I'm sure some had good experiences with this Dr.... just like some have experienced the same issues I had..... Thanks
