Dr. Robert Michael Shorr

I saw Dr Robert M Shorr recently at his other office in Culver City. I was referred to him regarding abdominal/groin pain, which had previously been diagnosed more than once as bilateral inguinal hernias. I explained my symptoms to him, showed him the medical records I had pertaining to it, and pulled down my pants and lifted my shirt as he instructed so he could give me a quick examination which was not thorough. He then told me I don't have hernias. Once he came to that conclusion in his mind he became very short and uncaring toward me. Wrapping up the appointment and having me leave. I tried explaining to him that whatever the diagnosis or condition is, that there is something wrong. That I constantly have pain there and it feels abnormal. He just blew me off telling me that sometimes doctors can't fix every little problem a patient has and so on. Being very dismissive and really minimizing my injury and symptoms. He made no attempt at doing anything to try to answer my questions about what I should do next, how I can find a doctor who cares about helping me etc. He's one of those old dinosaur doctors who shouldn't be practicing medicine anymore. He's jaded, uncaring, uninterested etc due to old age. If you are referred to Dr Shorr do not waste your time seeing him. Instead contact your insurance to have the referral redirected.

If I could put zero I would was 100% dismissed when referred by a gastroenterologist to be seen urgently.Would not recommend at all!

Dr Shorr took great care of my mom Rita at Marina Mercy Hospital. He explained the operation prior & why it was the best course of action. Immdiately after the surgery he explained how the operation went & how my mom was doing. He took the time to make sure we understood everything. In the hospital he checked on her. Had the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor in my life. He was very rude and disrespectful. He has no care, no remorse or empathy for his patients. He didn't care to hear what I had to say or show me any solution for my problem I was seeing him for. I would give him negative stars if I could. Stay clear of this doctor he is horrible !! Would never recommend him to anybody, he shouldn't even be in practice.

Terrible experience very unprofessional and very rude. I wasted my time seeing him and now I am trying to figure out how he got his license to practice medicine and to perform surgerys.
