I did not have a good experience with Dr. Burnette. She worked quickly through my appointments and did not address my healthcate needs. In fact, due to her and the staff's sloppy work I lost my disability coverage. Unless she has changed her patient bedside manner, I would not recommend.

As much as I loved Dr.Burnette as my personal physician I feel that the billing practices of UNC Health who she works under are unethical and deceitful. I had been a patient of Dr.Burnette’s for years with coverage under my insurance provider and after losing my insurance as well as my employment due to COVID I had seen her once again in May of 2020. I explained in detail that I was self paying out of pocket and could not afford any extra testing if it wasn’t necessary. The prescription she was urine testing me for was not an essential prescription and Dr.Burnette and I spoke about that in advance. She promised me during my visit that I would not be billed outrageously. I paid the upfront self pay cost of $100 and later in July received another bill for the urine test of $116.40. Now in September I have received an additional charge for the same test of $206.40. Their billing department simply claim they “do not determine the cost” for billing and have already discounted the service. So in essence, I ended up paying out of pocket $422.80 for a brief ten minute office visit and a urine test for a script that wasn’t even a necessity. BE AWARE that if you’re self paying they will charge you an arm and a leg for service. Going back if I could I would’ve demanded a cost estimate upfront and refused the service. I will not be going back to Dr. Burnette or UNC Health from this point forward, with or without insurance. Great experience and really like Dr. Brunette as my Primary care doctor. I don't love the location of browning place....area has lots of construction going on so lots of annoying traffic. I would recommend this doctor to everyone.

Dr. Burnette is the epitome of what a physician should be. She takes the time to listen to her patients and really hear their concerns. She is also an out-of-the box thinker who is not quick to medicate if there is another option. You get the feeling that she is treating all of her patients as she would her own family.

My experience so far with Dr. Burnette has been excellent. She pays attention and listens, she is insightful and smart. I don't think it was fair for the other reviewer to give her a low rating when the problem is UNC Healthcare's billing. The doctor is great, medical billing is a nightmare pretty much everywhere.
