I went to see Dr Lema on 6/15/2021 and Dr Said I need to do CTSCAN and his office was going to schedule the appointment at McAllen Reginal Hospital and up to now it's been 3 weeks and I have no answer. I have call the office for reminders and the claim that they are under staff. Today I talk to the so call Office Manager and she promised me she was going to take care of it. So we'll see. Then you upset complaining and they are telling you to claim down how can you calm down when you're in pain. This is the worst office I've ever been in. Worst service I have ever received from the staff. I never write reviews but it is that bad. You have to be constantly calling them for everything like procedure approvals, results. I had to wait a whole month after Dr ordered a test for them to finally submit it to insurance for authorization. Called multiple times never received call back, was told order was submitted never heard back, until a month passed I called insurance and was told order was never submitted. I had a CT and bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, had not heard anything, called today and was told i can be put in for Monday so results can be given. Staff is horrible front office including the office manager . My first appointment took 3 hours to see Dr Lema. Second appointment for follow they couldn’t find my test results from sleep study, my appointment was at 11am and it’s 1:11 pm and still not being seen by the PA because Dr Lema is out of town .. I don’t recommend.. I’m so tired of our local physicians they feel their time is more valuable then the patients .. I’m going to start looking for specialist in SA . I spoke to this physician over the phone for my first appointment. My appointment was at 11:30 am of which I took off work for. I called several times wanting to know when was he going to call me. He finally called me at 3pm with no apology but started yelling at me over the phone stating how busy he was and I could find another doctor if I did not want to wait. I was appalled by his disrespect and unprofessionalism over the phone to a new patient. The sad part of all this drama he displayed was that fact I have worked with this man in the hospital many years and admired him as a physician. He didn't notice my name before he started his temper -tantrum . Dr. Lema if you are that over worked then maybe you need to lighten your work load and treat people like human beings not dollar signs. Shame on you!!!

Great Dr but if you need to actually be able to get in to see the Dr this is not the Dr for you. We had to wait almost 2 months for an appointment only to get a call 2 days before the set appointment to be rescheduled for 6 weeks later. If a patient sets up an appointment obviously there is a need for them to see the Dr.
