Absolutely amazing! Removed my wisdom tooth in two minutes without any pain! I honestly didn't believe it was done and had him show me the tooth, would give ten stars if I could, definitely recommend.

Dr. Chmiel is not only a very friendly person but the upmost in professionalism. I had a wisdom tooth removed and was at ease from the very start as Dr Chmiel obviously is a very skilled oral surgeon. His office staff was friendly and thorough in handling my insurance and appointments. It’s reassuring to know Dr Chmiel is there if I need any future treatments. I went to get my wisdom teeth out here and I was very happy with how it went. He is very knowledgeable and it’s hard to find a good dentist that takes Fidelis. Glad I found him!

Highly recommend Dr. Chmiel and his entire staff from the first phone call to the recovery process after surgery. You just have to let the entire office do what they need to do to get you the right results and it will be a smooth process. Dr. Chmiel is exceptional at what he does and it’s reflective in the healing process.

Amazing doctor and staff! I was so nervous to get my wisdom tooth removed (I heard horror stories from friends) and Dr. Chimel made the experience as pleasant as possible! I came here for a wisdom tooth evaluation and was told I wouldn't be able to use laughing gas just novocaine so I was nervous to go back and have my wisdom teeth removed. I cancelled appointments and apologized up and down for cancelling them due to my anxiety. They said they wouldn't see me again and I needed to find somewhere else to go. Their isn't many good oral surgeons that take my insurance so now I have an abscess and have been in excruciating pain. I've tried to find another oral surgeon and haven't had any luck. I normally don’t write reviews but I was so pleased with the service I received from Amherst Oral surgery that I felt the need to. I had been having tooth pain for about a week prior to my visit at the office. I visited my regular dentist and they advised me my wisdom tooth was giving me issues as it grew in sideways and had a cavity under it. It turn, the tooth next to it had also decayed. My dentist also advised me I would need to visit an oral surgeon to get it fixed as it was too far in the back of my mouth for her to reach. I contacted Amherst Oral survey and made an appointment directly after I had left my dentist as I was already in pain and it was progressively getting worse. The appointment I made was for Monday the previous week. During the time I waited for my appointment my tooth pain got unbearable. I could not sleep, eat, or function. The night prior to my visit was the worst night of my life. I know it sounds dramatic but I was in pain and did not sleep AT ALL. I was nervous because I knew I had an appointment at Amherst Oral Surgery the next day but I also knew that it was just a consultation and that I would need to make an appointment to come back. I prayed that I would get the help I needed because I was also not in a good head space, feeling a lot of anxiety because of the pain. Somehow I made it to my appointment without going crazy. I’m normally a pretty cool calm and collected person but as soon as I walked in and locked eyes with the receptionist I started crying and couldn’t catch my breath. The women working at the front counter were very kind and told me that I’m here now and everything was going to be ok. Not long after I filled out my paperwork I was called into the office. The entire office is very clean and organized. I sat down in the chair and spoke to who I think was a dental hygienist first. I explained to her the discomfort I was having and the dentist (Ronald Chmiel Jr. D.D.S.) walked in. I was crying and couldn’t breathe the whole time I was explaining my situation. I’m hungry because I haven’t ate in days, I’m miserable, exhausted, my anxiety is through the roof, and I just would like to get some sleep.. The dentist listened to me and said that we could get me back in as soon as possible. I explained to him even if it was the next day it would be too long. I begged him to take me that day and extract the teeth causing me pain and head aches. The dentist looked and me and said he would look into it for me. He walked away and I prayed that they could... Tooth pain is no joke and on top of not sleeping I just needed someone to help me. He came back and said he could do it and this time I cried happy tears. In my mind at that time, I thought it would probably take some time, but that the pain was finally going to be gone. I was brought into another room, also really clean with cool pictures on the ceiling. The dentist gave me novicane shots and I felt instant relief. The entire procedure took legitimately under 5 minutes. The dentist was SO calming and knew exactly what to say at the right time. I was not scared at all and 2 minutes after I was in the chair he said, “ok both teeth are out!” I was so very surprised at how quickly he was able to pull my teeth. I just can’t say how grateful I am for the service I received at Amherst Oral Surgery. When I went back to work (the next day since the procedure was done so flawlessly) I bragged to coworkers about them as well. When you’re in that frame of mind, pain, anxiety, exhaustion... Having someone help you and make you feel comfortable is something that should not go unrecognized. I can’t thank the dentist or the staff enough for the amazing service and help. My son just had his four wisdom teeth removed by Dr Chmiel. The Doctor spoke to my son, explained everything from his options for sedation or not. He made my son feel like he was in charge of how he had it done. Every staff member was extremely kind, helpful, and made him feel comfortable. Scheduling was easy. Both the Doctor and his staff explained the post-op instructions and we followed them exactly and have had no problems at all. My son is doing great. Had a great experience with my wisdom teeth procedure at Dr. Chmiel . The staff was very pleasant, I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out and the nurses were calming. Very quick and smooth procedure. Didn’t even have to go in for a follow up! Would definitely recommend Dr. Chmiel for wisdom teeth removal.

We chose to take our son to Dr. Chmiel to have his 4 wisdom teeth removed because 1.) he accepted our dental insurance and 2.) a couple of people recommended him. I had to call and reschedule his surgical date and the receptionist who answered the phone was far from friendly. My husband took my son for the appointment and said the same thing. The women in the office were not friendly and acted as though we should know how the whole process works. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr. Chmiel himself was great, very personable. The techs were also great. However, the secretaries are extremely rude and they make the patient experience terrible. They make you feel like you're putting them out of their way to help you and do their job. They're rude and impatient on the phone and also talk nasty when you're ten feet away and you can hear their petty whispers. Four days after I got my wisdom teeth pulled I had extreme pain to the point of no relief with anything. I called on a Friday to ask to speak with the doctor about the pain, the secretary told me it was normal and to call back. She did not let me speak to him or consider my report of intense pain. Three days later, after I used all of my PTO for the year at work because of the pain, I called back and was seen. Turns out I had two dry sockets the whole time that could've been addressed on Friday. I would've had three days less of intense pain and I'd still have all my PTO. The secretary took it upon herself to make a clinical based decision, which she is not educated enough to do, and I was put in a terrible situation for an unacceptable reason. Then I got a bill in the mail so I called the office and once again, nothing but rude responses. She told me she'd call me back once she went through all of the insurance papers so I would know if I really owed $900 or not, and of course, no call back. A week later I finally called back and the secretary cut me off mid sentence, said "nope you don't owe anything" very short and rude and hung up. Very sad because the actual health care professionals at this office are great, but the office staff are horrendous and barely worth the trouble. I wouldn't recommend. I’ve been terrified of the dentist my entire life. Every time I’ve gone I’ve felt some sort of pain because of not being all the way numb. I let Dr. Chmiel know this beforehand, and he was very understanding and worked with me every step of the way. I had a tooth extracted at my first visit with him and it could not have went any smoother. He was patient with me and he was the first Dentist that actually got me fully numb. I want to thank all the staff at the office and Dr. Chmiel himself for doing a perfect job. I will return to this office for any future work that I need done. Dr. Chmiel was fantastic!!! I have a serious phobia of dentists and he put me at complete ease. He fully explained everything he was doing as he was doing it, so there wasn't really any anxiety. The 2 assistants he had helping him were also great. While waiting for the numbing to kick in, the one nurse sat and talked with me and helped me feel more comfortable; she was very personable. All in all it was a great appointment and he did a phenomenal job pulling 3 wisdom teeth and 2 molars! I'd recommend him any day to anyone!!! Thank you guys for everything!!! I have hated dentist since I was little. He was so nice with telling me what he was going to do before hand. And the nurses were so nice and polite and helped me get to my family’s car so we could leave. What a good place to go.

Went for a consultation at 11:15am. I was seen 'promptly' at 2:20pm. Despite a referral from my dentist to remove my wisdom teeth, he refused! And then billed me $190! My dentist then referred me to a different oral surgeon, where the removal went smoothly.

My son had his wisdom teeth removed and we could not be more happy.Doctor was so nice and service was good.Very clean office.

The surgeon is amazing and takes good care of his patients. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the receptionist is awful. She was rude and terrible to deal with.

Doctor Chmiel is a great oral surgeon I highly recommend going to him if your having a tooth removal my wisdom teeth went relatively smooth and he was fast about a half hour to get all four of them out !! and spent a good amount of time explaining to me post op instead of just walking out end of surgery with a info sheet.

I would have given 5/5 for the oral surgeon himself and dentist assistants (not sure what these people are called?), but his receptionist is terrible. Very rude to me when calling about concerns and unpleasant to deal with in person. But as for Dr. Chimel, he was great and highly recommend him (and recommend he get a new receptionist)

Staff was super nice as well as Dr. Chmiel... As well as fast and efficient. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and will gladly answer any questions you have. I highly recommend him to anyone that is in need of oral surgery.

As a walk in for the first time with an upper molar on its last leg and 4 months of tooth pain and headaches, the front office staff was very welcoming and got me started. Meeting Dr Chmiel was immediately relaxing. Very informative on involving what the next minute had in store. His assistant and him were very coordinated as a team. His main attention was to assure I was comfortable. I was, and everything else followed without incident. 20 minutes later, we were finished. I am now pain free.

One of the best doctors I have ever encountered! He removed my son's wisdoms, and my daughter's wisdoms. Dr. Chmiel is extremely knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and unhurried. He treated us with great respect and kindness at all times. I recommend him very highly. He is in the top 1% of all doctors I have ever come in contact with throughout my lifetime.
