I cannot say enough good about Dr. Spurling. He is gifted, experienced, intuitive, whip-smart and easy going. As a doctor, he is fantastic, and humble. He listens well and is very clear with his communication. He is present. I had a need for a miracle, when I went into the psychiatric hospital in 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. I was a MESS. Obsessive, severely anxious, panic attacks, Dr Spurling was patient, tenacious, and open minded. He worked a MIRACLE!!!!!

I didn't see him in the office however he was called into Geneva general hospital emergency department to do an assessment on my teenage son who was there due to an intentional overdose. Despite the overdose, frequent psychiatric hospitalizations, my concerns, the emergency department social worker advocating for his inpatient status, and being told by my sons regular outpatient psychiatric care providers that my son did indeed need to be hospitalized, Dr. Spurling gave the ok to discharge my son. Less than 30 minutes after discharge and while still on hospital grounds my son had a violent outburst and said he was going to do something really crazy now and ran away. He is currently missing. Thank you Dr. Spurling for not listening to the people who knew the patient best. I would never recommend anyone to him. I AM A PATIENT OF DR.SPURLING FOR THE PAST TWO OR MORE YEARS HE HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN MAINTAINING MY MENTAL HEALTH AND ALWAYS SEEMS VERY GENUINE. I WOULD DEFFINATELY RECOMMEND HIM VERY HIGHLY TO MY FRIENDS FAMILY AND JUST ANYONE IN NEED OF HELP.

i have been having some problems come to find out it is from what he prescribed me oxcarbazepine ( for seizure that i dont have), lexapro, rispadol, and xanax look it up he was trying to kill me. i have heart problems and he never told me about this stuff. dont do here please!!!!

Very good Doctor, listens to his patients. Willing to work with patients as well as responsive with new treatments which can help tremendously with quality of life. I would recommend. In response to another review I would say that we should always read the paperwork provided with any prescription to educate ourselves. They provide these for our information and we share responsibility in knowing what we put in our own body. Or, agree to talk to the pharmacist when getting a new medicine - they are the experts when it comes to side effects as well as multiple medicines possibly interacting with each other.
