Rumen Slavkov

Get your chart if you go to this doctor. This doctor prescribes so many medications and does not seem to care at all about the people that he sees. He also seems angry.

I would never return to this MD. We wait 30 minutes before he saw us. He did not introduce himself to me or my daughter. Stared at the wall, his computer and asked no more than 3 questions and then suggested 3 supplements one of which was tested on those with Autism and ADHD which are not at all what my child's issues are related too. He lacked any social skills or ability to connect with me or my child. It was a huge disappointment and a complete waste of time. I would not even give 1 star.

Appears open to working with parents and hearing their concerns. He was open to working with the family to ensure that their child was being treated appropriately. (Other providers didn't always seem to listen to the family's concerns regarding over medicating and he was open to trying more conservative options.)

First time meeting with Slavkov, he made a bad impression by prescribing my daughter not one, but THREE different medications, one for nightmares, one mood stabilizer, and another antidepressant. He wrote in her chart that she must have had some sort of borderline personality disorder, and said that in time, he would like to put her on a stimulant. When asked what kind of stimulant, he said Adderall. ADDERALL? On the first time meeting with him?!

The waiting room staff are all nice, especially Melissa the Doctors receptionist. The wait time is usually about a 1/2 hour. Dr. Slavkov did not order blood work before prescribing medicines and then when we requested them he agreed but told us when we get the results in the mail to bring them to our next visit. Hello???? You get the results faxed to you and you are supposed to let us know if there are problems, seems. Like he doesn't believe in blood work.

Great guy, so patient and genuine - you can tell he really loves helping kids!
