About Dr. Sameh Akhnoukh Labib
Reviews for Dr. Sameh Akhnoukh Labib
Excellent knowledge of the problem that I was experiencing. Great communication with me about my options for treatment. Dr. Labib and his associate M.D.s and Sports Trainers are ball knowledgable and friendly. The Imaging staff is too. I was seen on time for every appointment. Finally, my recovery has been pain free and I have resumed all of the activities that I participated in prior to surgery. The process from consolation to final visit was 100% positive.
Patronizing and dismissive on two separate visits, literally from the first words out of his mouth upon entering the room. Performs the role of caring physician, using smooth tone of voice and smile, but his actions belie a lack of respect for any patient who isnât 100% docile and dares to question a treatment plan. Also pretty much follows the stereotype that surgeons arenât interested in anyone they canât cut on. I have no reason to think heâs not a skilled physician, but his arrogance and lack of concern for patients makes him one of only two doctors Iâve ever had to negatively review.
Total ankle replacement was performed painlessly, comfortably & sucessfully by Dr. Labib and his highly professional team. Can't say enough how satisfied I am with the results. The ankle is as strong and flexible as a natural ankle, no awareness that it's not natural.
Excellent care. Explains all procedures thoroughly.
Dr. Labib did an excellent job and surprised that I can walk with low pain in 6 months. I am very cautious about what tasks I perform to protect the ankle until it's fully healed.
Dr. Labib performed surgery on my right malleoli of my tibia and fibula and my right talus. It was a very intensive break but at 6 months I am almost fully recovered which was way better than I thought I would be! He is kind hearted and a very good surgeon. His team is also very good.
I had a spiral fracture of my fibula, tore ligaments, and needed a posterior tibial tendon augmentation. In summary I did a lot of damage to my ankle, and Dr. Labib was able to repair all of it successfully. I’m 5 months out from surgery, fully ambulatory and active again and am grateful for not only the surgery but the care that he and his team provided to me afterwards. I could not more highly recommend him.
I had a very bad ruptured and torn left Achilles’s tendon. Doctor Labib took me on as a. Patient and Got me back to where I could walk normal again and be able to return to my favorite sport of golf.
Very professional and clear about interventions recommended to correct my problem. I felt confident in his ability and expertise, he explained everything with great detail . His office staff are responsive and readily available .
My first visit with Dr. Labib I was in extreme distress. He immediately recognized my level of pain and treated me accordingly. I have since had surgery to repair my ankle with Dr. Labib and have every confidence in his abilities, and I am looking forward to the best possible outcome because of his skill as a surgeon.
I had ACL surgery back in 2012 in Kansas City and the after surgery pain was so intense and nauseating it was hard to cope with. I can honestly say Dr Labib and his team are amazing, I recently had Left Achilles surgery and when I say I haven’t felt any after surgery pain that wasn’t manageable I mean it. I would definitely recommend to any athlete, family, or friends!
At this point in time, my recovery from my right foot surgery is going quite well.Dr. Labib and his clinical staff have answered all of my questions and reassured me that I’m doing all of the right things. I still have another 8 days until my follow up visit, and I’m looking forward to having the full use of my right foot again. It’s already feeling so much better and the pain that I used to have is gone.
Dr. Labib performed an ankle surgery and was friendly and patient throughout, and did an excellent job with the surgery itself.
Dr. Labib reconstructed my foot from a failed foot fusion. This included loose hardware and a collapse instep. Not just everyone would have tackled this "redo", but I am grateful that he did. He was kind and patient, and consulted with me every step of the way. I can now walk without pain.
good
Very professional and competent. Did excellent treatment.
I have drop foot from nerve damage. Dr. Labib performed a tendon transfer on my left foot. At 6 months, I do have some movement in my left ankle and can bring my foot to a neutral position. I could not move my left foot at all prior to the tendon transfer. I am very pleased with the results and Dr. Labib's care.
My ankle surgery went smoothly and I have been in very little to no pain as a result. I have not had my post-op visit yet, so I'm not sure what the surgery site looks like, but it isn't causing me much pain. The only downside is not being able to put any weight on my leg for 6-8 weeks.
I would recommend Dr. Labib.
He understood perfectly what I had. He was very professional and gave the right importance to my injury. He was also very easy to talk to and very empathetic.
Anyone can see that Dr. Labib is the best in his field, his credentials speak for themselves. But there is so much more... Dr. Labib fit me into his busy schedule, REALLY listened to me, answered my questions, shared his experience w this specific unique injury, clearly explained the injury, surgery and postop expectations. He drew a picture about my achilles tear, wasn’t afraid to use big words, described his pragmatic approach to pain, and was kind, making me feel so very comfortable. In fact, as a result, I switched surgeons to go to him! He took care of unexpected findings during my surgery & I’m on my way to recovery. I cannot give Dr. Labib high enough praise & gratitude.
Dr. Labib is personable and extremely competent. He performed surgery on my knee. I only had a few days of swelling and discomfort. Six months later I feel great.
Yes, he carefully repaired my double ankle fracture
Dr Labib is great! No worries when it came to him and my right foot, I left everything up to him and it was a great, but not so easy experience! Thanks so much Dr. Labib?? I am and feeling a whole lot better????
I wish I had seen Dr. Labib first! He and his staff are simply THE BEST. They gave me every option along with guiding me back to pain free walking. My only regret is that I didn’t see him sooner. I would absolutely recommend him to everyone!! I’m confident he can handle your issue better than whomever you’ve thought about making an appointment with.
Dr. Labib and his team are excellent at working with you to understand the problem you are having and the best way to approach it.
Dr. Labibe made me feel at ease. He said what needed to be done and I trusted him with confidence. The surgery went wll. I am one week out and the pain is under control with little to no pain medicine. So much easier than expected so far. I would definitely recommend him.
I broke my ankle and he was the best doctor that I got a consult from. He was very thorough with his assessment and did a gravity stress test before saying I needed surgery (unlike other doctors that I went to). He was very helpful and the post-surgery recovery was very quick. He is great!
Dr. Labib made the process fast and painless. I was in and out of the operating room and on the road to recovery in no time! I couldn't be happier with the process
I would definitely recommend Dr Labib to family and friends. He is very professional but also very open and took time to answer questions. I'm extremely pleased with my PTTD surgery and am recovering well.
I had a bad fall. Dr. Sameh Labib misdiagnosed my foot (said a bad sprain) in the summer of 2019 and it wasn't until about visit 3 or 4 that he finally did a CT scan to discover the fractures in my foot. He put me in the wrong boot for my foot type and it caused me to get plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. I have a new dr now but I have been suffering because of Dr. Labib and his lack of proper attention and recommendations. He also NEVER recommended Physical Therapy. I have tried home exercises, PT, pilates, injections, oral steroids, acupuncture, and am constantly taking some sort of anti-pain/ anti-inflammatory medicine. My new dr has determined that surgery is the only treatment that can get me my life back pain-free. I have chronic pain and have a hard time walking for any length of time. I believe that Dr. Labib is responsible for my pain. His lack of care and concern for me as a patient created this chronic problem and pain. I absolutely do not recommend Dr. Labib.
About 3 years ago, Dr. Sameh Labib successfully removed my Morton's Neuroma. I went to see him for my foot pain back then because he was in my insurance plan. After many steroid shots, etc we decided that surgery would be the best option. I still have some numbness but that is to be expected and I was warned about that prior to the surgery. Last summer (2019) I fell down a flight of stairs and ended up fracturing the metatarsal bones on the top of my feet. Not knowing what was wrong and because like most people I trust that doctors know what they are doing so I went to see Dr. Labib (naturally) and he told me that I had a "bad sprain" and to come back in a few weeks. I rested, iced it, and wore an orthopedic shoe that I had from my neuroma surgery but it was not getting better. When I returned for a follow-up, I told Dr. Labib that it was not getting better but he still insisted that it was a bad sprain and sent me home again. I told him that I was convinced that it was not just a sprain and that it was not normal. He dismissed me and sent me home again. I told him that I would be traveling to Europe soon. He told me to wear a hiking boot for my travels.....On my 3rd or 4th visit to Dr. Labib, a few weeks before I was leaving to travel, I was still not any better and insisted that they do something other than just the one x-ray done at the hospital after the fall because I was to be traveling for 3 weeks and was worried about walking a lot. So Dr. Labib FINALLY ordered a CT scan. I got a call from his office 2 hours later because they saw the fractures and immediately called me back to their office that day to put me into a boot. Dr. Labib never mentioned anything about my insanely high arches. He told me to wear the boot for at least eight weeks so I did. Since the boot was flat, once I came out of it I developed terrible heel pain and Achilles pain. There was no physical therapy because I did not know any better and trusted Dr. Labib. I was not keen to see Dr. Labib again so I found a podiatrist to look at my foot this time. It was then that I found out that since my high arches were so pronounced that I never should have been put in that flat boot with no arch support. Because of Dr. Labib's negligence, I now have Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis from being in that boot. Dr. Labib NEVER mentioned physical therapy after coming out of the boot and since I did not know any better it wasn't even on my radar. In fact, he never mentioned physical therapy after my Morton's Neuroma surgery which I now realize was also wrong of him and probably kept my foot weak. The bottom line, he was more concerned with telling me that he was right and that I only had a sprain than my well being. He put me in that boot and now I suffer the consequences of that flat boot for 8 weeks. You can't believe how high my arches are and he should have known that could cause me problems. I was so angry that I did not go back to him but now that I am really suffering and my quality of life is terrible so I wanted to write a review to warn others about Dr. Labib. I have tried home exercises, physical therapy, pilates, injections, oral steroids, acupuncture and am constantly taking some sort of anti-pain/ anti-inflammatory medicine. Now my new doctor has determined that surgery is the only treatment that can get me my life back. I have chronic pain and have a hard time walking for any length of time. I believe that Dr. Labib is responsible for my pain. His lack of care and concern for me as a patient created this chronic problem and pain. I absolutely do not recommend Dr. Labib.
Dr. Labib is a great doctor who wanted to make my pain go away instead of sending me away like my doctors at home. He made sure I had tried all options before surgery (PT, rest, steroid injection, etc.). He is confident and friendly.
So far so good on surgery to repair Achilles tear. Dr Labib and his team were prompt, professional and have been great at coordinating this process. They took the time to answer my questions honestly and completely.
Doctor Labib and his staff accomplished my procedure with great competence and courtesy to me, a naturally very nervous person. The professional manner of Doctor Labib and his team instilled in me an immediate confidence that made the overall experience far easier for me as a patient. This trust has been rewarded with my rapid and easy recovery. I fully recommend Dr. Labib.
I broke my ankle in 3 places on a Saturday. Dr. Labib was available for a televisit on Monday afternoon, and they got me in for a pre-surgery COVID test that same day. The results came back (negative) so I was in surgery on Wednesday afternoon. I'm still impressed they were able to make everything happen so quickly so the healing could begin!
Went to Dr. Labib after a less than ideal appointment with a different doctor who wanted me to continue PT despite it not having worked for the prior 6 months. The only good thing out of that appointment was a referral to Dr. Labib who was straightforward and very realistic about what my treatment plan should be (and was supported by academic literature). I can't recommend him enough. Dr. Labib and his team are wonderful and great at answering questions when you inevitably have them.
Dr. Labib is a skilled and knowledgable surgeon. I trust him his judgement. He is kind and thoughtful and its a pleasure to have him as my doctor.
Dr. Labib is a very good doctor. I like direct talk, told him so and got all information from him in a straightforward and no nonsense way. He told me what to expect and what I needed to be cognizant of in the post surgery recovery world that I would be in. My surgery was successful and I elected to go with Dr. Labib's recommendation to use Emory PT for rehab. My PT, Kenny, says that I have progressed quickly and my foot is getting stronger and stronger every day. If that right foot decides to fall apart then I will certainly place it on Dr. Labib's surgery table with no second thought whatsoever.
Very knowledgeable
I met with 5 doctors throughout Atlanta that I was not comfortable with. Dr. Labib was far more impressive and I ultimately went with him for my OS Trigonum Surgery. I would highly recommend him for any knee and ankle issues.
Dr. Labib examined my knee thoroughly (when others wouldn’t) and trusted my level of pain and instability. As a result, the mri showed my previous ACL reconstruction had failed and he immediately moved me forward to surgery. It went excellent and I am on the mend. Being 38 I still have a full life of exercise and physical activity and Dr. Labib understood that completely. Highly recommend!
Had a os trigonum surgery 12/2019. Was very much a success. Would 100% recommend Dr.Labib and his staff.
Fantastic experience all around with Dr Labib, his resident Brian and the surgical staffs at their associated Emory facilities. The male chaplain at Emory Spine as awesome! I think his name was Daryl or something close to that. God bless this whole medical team.
I am in my mid-50s and had loss of cartilage in my right ankle that caused constant pain from bone-on-bone, even with a brace. Dr. Labib explained various options to me and I decided on ankle replacement. He performed the surgery and developed my post-op plan, and so far after six months I am in much better shape, and the ankle moves nicely with very little pain. I am not 100% yet but that is to be expected. I would definitely recommend Dr. Labib to anyone suffering similar pain.
Thank you Dr Labib for the great job you done on my foot. I am pleased with the surgery.
Dr. Labib performed surgery on me after I suffered ruptures of both Achilles tendons. He did such a wonderful job that, with physical therapy, I was able to start skiing again on easy green slopes after 4 1/2 months. After six months, I am able to ski on intermediate blue slopes. I am confident that I will be on difficult black slopes soon. I would highly recommend Dr Labib!
Dr. Labib is excellent surgeon I felt very confident in every way he explain the procedure several times making sure that my family and myself could understand when going into surgery was totally relax having ankle infusion has been a week feeling good and positive thanks to Dr.Labib.
I went to see Dr. Labib because I had suffered with excruciating pain in my right ankle for 34 years. I was to the point that I could hardly walk. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Dr. Labib suggested an ankle replacement and said he could get rid of 75% - 80% of my pain. I was a little apprehensive since I had been told that by another physician 10 years earlier. I had the other physician do the surgery and it was much worse. However, Dr. Labib explained everything about the procedure and what to expect. He replaced the ankle in December 2018. Today I am almose 100% painfree. I cannot thank Dr. Labib enough. I am so grateful to him and his staff.
Dr. Labib is extremely professional, yet personable. I had surgery on both feet over a four month period to correct longstanding problems which had become so painful that I had difficulty walking. I am completely satisfied with the results and am thankful that my local orthopedic doctor referred me to Dr. Labib. His assistants and all other personnel I encountered at the Emory facility were a pleasure to work with.
Dr. Labib is a GREAT doctor. He did surgery on both of my feet and did a great job. Dr. Labib was very professional and answered all my questions and concerns with knowledgeable answers.
Outstanding. Very thorough. Took a conservative approach at first with PT...when that didn't work had a MRI and ultimately surgery---very prompt in scheduling appointments and surgery. Little or no wait in follow up visits. Very professional and willing to answer all questions. Very good follow up from Dr. Labib himself. Overall one of the best ortho and Dr. experiences I have had (which include 4 knee, 3 shoulder and one back surgery).
Dr. Labib was able to correct a foot problem that I have had for years. 3 months after surgery I can walk without pain, the first time in many years. Dr. Labib is a no nonsense type of physician however takes all the time necessary to answer any questions. I highly recommend him.
Great bedside manner. Wonderful at explaining everything. 9 days out from fusion of my big toe. Everyone on his surgical team was great, very professional and caring. Highly recommend
