It’s been many years since she did my surgery. But she was spot on with doing a intense long surgery..Nothing but professional and compassionate care. Absolutely the best. Forever grateful to her and staff !!!

Very cold individual. Money hungry and absolutely uncaring about patients. Immediately upon meeting her I felt fearful. My cancer was only 1b1 and she kept insisting on chemo. I'd told intake staff, AND her, that I would not even entertain it. I wanted hysterectomy. She had her staff call me REPEATEDLY at my work (retail, they don't allow phone calls) and the worst one, after I'd already made decision on another specialist, was, "wouldn't it be fun to at least consider chemo?". I was in middle of my shift and already started radiation treatment with another specialist. My cancer was 1b1, very operable but Yamada refused that option. Other oncologists said hysterectomy was best but possibly followup with radiation. I chose just radiation but in my heart and research knew hysterectomy was MOST appropriate. "Dr." Yamada's staff told me I'd not live past February, 2020, without her chemo. It is now June 2021 and I can ASSURE you that I'm alive. I can ALSO assure you that chemo would have killed me. EVERYONE that I got contact information for, that started treatment when I did, are no longer with us. It was the chemo. She purchases it, I saw the receipts, and bills patient insurance 33 times higher than her cost. THAT is why she tries to scare every patient into chemo even with a cancer, 1b1, that I had.

Cold and apathetic. Focus is on selling chemo.

Dr. Yamada is kind, analytical, informative, careful and brilliant. I feel blessed to have seen her during this frightening time.

Brilliant woman , expert in her field

Yamada may seemed rushed and not particularly prepared at routine visits, but I trust her judgment and skill when it counts. UCM Gynecologic Oncology department is extremely strong. Everyone works together well, they fit you in when it's important, take your concerns seriously, return calls promptly, and the support staff is excellent. (If you are really needy, require a lot of hand-holding and soothing, maybe pick another physician from the group; many different personalities, all great.)
