Excellent attention! Very professional and the whole team is helpful. M.D sherif Khalil is a must if you need to see an ophthalmologist, he cares about his patients and explains in detail during the consultation. This was my first time seeing Dr Kahlil. His examination tech was pleasant & explained everything to me as she went along. I was referred to Dr Kahlil per my husband, since he was pleased with him, he suggested I go see him. He was thorough & efficient. Dr K stated I didn't have what the last Optometrist said I had seen 4 yrs ago. The only down fall was that my appointment was at 10:30am and I waited an hour before they called me to start the exam. I went to 3 different ophthalmologist and I’m thankful I found Dr. Khalil. I was getting super frustrated with my situation since it has been going on for 2 months. Out of all the doctors I went to Dr. Khalil had the best and most thorough explanation with what’s going on with my eye so I felt I could trust him. He had most of the answers to my questions and was very specific about the pros and cons. So I finally had the surgery and post surgery I’ve never had any issues again. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to Dr. Khalil with a traumatizing eye experience that is slowly causing the deterioration of my vision and he did not give me the time of day. 1.) He seemed like he was in a rush and did not care about anything I had to say. 2.) His first response to me about my symptoms was "I can not tell you what is causing that, I have no idea" when that is the whole reason I came to see a "specialist". 3.) All he did was numb my eyes and then look into my eyes like any regular optometrist would and left in a rush.... mind you he was also 45 minutes late to my scheduled appointment. 4.) As he was leaving I was still trying to ask him questions and he completely dismissed me and kept walking out. I could not help but to start bawling crying. Worst experience ever. Sherif Khalil does not care about his patients. I have serious worsening symptoms and all he could tell me was to use eye drops for dry eyes (when I told him I already do that). -10/10 do NOT recommend. If I could give 0 stars I would. Dr. Khalil is an extremely thoughtful, thorough and knowledgable specialist. He was prompt and sincere and took the time to address my many questions and concerns. As a type 1 diabetic, I will definitely return to him for my next annual exam.

Great attention to patients, very happy with my visit!

I saw referred by my Primary doctor to have something extracted by Dr. Khalil. The doctor was nice but I did not like that he almost instantly jump to recommend surgery. I further insisted that he try lancing the bump before SURGERY. He was able to get the bump out and no further treatment was necessary. It was very disappointing to have the doctor suggest surgery before trying a less invasive methods. I saw referred by my Primary doctor to have something extracted by Dr. Khalil. My eye was actively bleeding and I put in an emergency call to HEA. Dr. Khalil called me immediately. He told me to meet him at the office first thing Monday morning without an appointment. The first eye doctor I went to for a consultation, not Houston Eye Associates, treated me like they were used car salesmen. Dr. Khalil and the HEA Staff treated me like a patient/client with the utmost patience and professionalism.

It was easy to work with his associates to get an appointment a lot sooner than I expected. When I arrived at the office the reception staff were friendly and professional in getting the paperwork done. I was called quickly by a technician who took measurements and gave me eye drops to prepare me for Dr. Khalil's exam. He made sure I knew what he was doing and finding and what I needed to do. I saw Dr. Khalil for several years before leaving town. He is a doctor I hated to leave. Always very attentive at annual evaluations, cordial, never rushed, always informative. He explained tests that were appropriate for me. He is a doctor I would consider returning to Houston to see, vs finding an Ophthalmologist in my new city. I trusted him, and recommend him.

This review is for Dr. Khalil’s eyeglass exam and business office practice. In May, 2019 I scheduled an eye exam to see if cataracts were forming in my eyes. This exam is covered under my Medicare Part A and B and my Medicare Supplement plan G. This will cover all of my exam cost. While there at the office they had a special for eyeglass testing for $59.00 if you did it that same visit. I paid cash for the eyeglass exam and resulting prescription. Medicare was not a part of this transaction it was cash. I received the prescription and took it to get new eyeglasses. 6 days later the new eyeglasses arrived to my shock the glasses were horribly wrong I couldn’t see anything at a distance or up close. The eyeglass lab checked the lens and verified they were cut as per Dr. Khalil prescription. The one I paid CASH for. The eyeglass company offered to retest my eyes for free and in the end their prescription was perfect an I now have great glasses. The other problem is when I called requesting a refund of $59.00 for the worthless prescription. I was told they just needed an ok to refund from Dr. Khalil. It would then take about 2 weeks to apply it back to my bank card. Well it is now a month after the visit and no refund. I called to see what happened. The lady now tells me the refund had to be a written approval from Dr. Khalil and it was done and submitted to accounts payable on May 31, 2019. I am getting a little irritated at this point and asked to speak to someone in AP. This woman tells me there is no written approval showing and she can’t release my money. Called back to my first contact lady to see why I am getting the run around. She said she would check with the head of AP. When she came back on the line she said they were holding my cash payment as collateral waiting for my secondary insurance to pay the balance of my cataract exam. This is crazy. The eyeglass exam was a cash transaction done by a technician not Dr. Khalil. It has nothing to do with Medicare. We have a Medicare Supplement Plan (G) and it covers everything I mean we will owe nothing. They are holding my cash money hostage until they get my secondary insurance payment. I don’t deal well with crooks. He is no longer my Ophthalmologist. He obviously needs the money worse than I do. F. Dr.. Khalil is one of the best Eye doctors u can find. Very pleasant personality, very honest and most of all very professional.

I have gone to Dr. Khalil for many years. He has done cataract surgery on both eyes and recently the lid surgery. I now drive 60 miles to see him because I like him so much. Surgeries have all gone fantastic.

Dr and his assistance changed their cataract procedural statements after the surgery, I have lost trust in this office.

Dr. Khalil performed cataract surgery on both eyes. Both his office staff and the surgery center provided excellent service. He spent plenty of time with me discussing options and timing for my surgery. After 50 years of wearing glasses I now have perfect distance vision.
