Dr. Shermian Antoinette Woodhouse

This was the worst experience I have had through my cancer journey! From my initial meeting I had red flags. She did not want me documenting what she was saying. But she was talking so fast I had to get my notepad out and start writing things down so I could relay to my loved ones what my process was going to be. Dr Woodhouse said there was no need to take notes I would repeatedly hear the same things through my process. My Mother in law was with me and could not believe the lack of empathy and poor bedside manor this dr had. Moving forward at my simulation I questioned her about a cream she had suggested at my initial meeting. She flat out said “I NEVER SUGGESTED THAT. I do not even know where you would get an Idea like that….At my appt after my 1st week of treatments. She asked me how I was feeling. I said I was pink, warm and my nipple was very tender. She told me it was in my head. LITERALLY! Then she took a peak and was documenting in her computer. Told me then it was not in my head. Then prescribed a cream that that we discussed in our very initial meeting. I left very upset. I went through the next week of treatments. Seen her again I just wondered why we went from 26 treatments to 21? Again she was VERY defensive and said she never said that. It was then I lost ALL confidence in this woman. She throws things out and does not want to be held accountable. I left and decided I was not completing my treatments. But reached out to my Navigator. She was able to get me moved to another dr. NOTE:This does not reflect on all the other doctors or surgeons on my team! I have truly loved everyone else! With that being said. YOU are your best advocate. If something is not right. Follow your gut feelings!!!!

Dr. Woodhouse and her staff are an extremely caring group of people. Throughout my treatments and beyond, they have shown interest in my recovery and health. Very glad I was sent their way
