Dr. Shapira was very concerning and informative about my over all health/ heart condition. He was also personally interested in the make of the jewelry that I was wearing.

Dr. Shapira is a heartless heart specialist! he has no empathy for people like me! i just wanted him and everyone know I have been diagnosed with atherosclerosis and he had told me that an angioplasty was the plan ,if my medications failed to control my blood pressure,instead he passes me back to my p.c. who never wanted to help me in the first place either! I had filed a complaint ,but did not continue with it ,cause my pc and np were more of a problem than he and it goes on & on cardiologists,and other specialists!

He is the best dr.I would trest him with my life..so luck to have him as my Dr

My first visit was one of the most positive, professional visits with a Physician and his staff ever. There was more concern about me, the patient, than anything else. Dr. Shapira is definitely about the details and making sure that I was aware of what my problems were.

After searching for a Cardiologist on the internet, I chose to see Dr. Shapira at Lewis Gale in Salem. I called and got an appointment right away. Dr Shmuel Shapira was all that I had hoped for. He was polite yet to the point on subjects we don’t like discusssing like weight and etc. We never like having to admit we weigh too much. Lol He was very knowledgeable and I feel completed by examination well and he answered all my questions in a way I could understand. Excellent staff as well.

Dr. Shapira and the entire medical staff at Lewis-Gale were extremely helpful and professional during and following my procedure. Dr. Shapira answered all of my questions completely and made sure that I understood the procedure and what to expect afterwards in both the short term and long term. The only time I spent with cardioloist, was with my husband. They did not treat you as a human but as a number. Dr Shapira takes his time to make sue you understand everything that is going on and he speaks to you as human being not just another number. I would highly recommend him to anyone and especially my family. He always goes over and beyond is obligations for every patient not just one..

I was referred to Dr Shapira by my Primary Care Physician. I had no prior knowledge of Dr Shapira. I found him to be knowledgeable and willing to give me his undivided attention. Dr Shapira reviewed a prior procedure with me explaining the results. I felt an immediate sense of trust with him and his knowledge and ability. I was also impressed with the staff, including his nurse and a Physicians Assistant who took time to encourage me and explain a proposed procedure. I realize

When I first saw him in 2014 I could barely breathe. Was having chemotherapy induced heart failure. He made it possible for me to work full time. I fell lucky to have such a wonderful Dr. The entire staff is great

Took my father in for a referral from his primary physician due to lots of retaining fluid....nothing was done except by the nurse he then indirectly called my father fat and said the swelling was due to a poor diet when u can press on his stomach and legs and see the indention left.. Will be getting a second opinion
