Soe M Aung

Dr Soe Aung treated me for moderate to severe sleep apnea between 2008 and 2014 when I finally left Austin. A cardiologist I visited told me he considered Aung to be the finest neuro in all of town. I'm sure many fantastic neuros existed there at the time, but Dr Aung is by far the most knowledgeable physician I've personally spoken to. He was actively following the latest research in sleep science. I can probably never thank him enough for how much he helped me. Dr Aung is also personable and a genuinely kind soul. There will never be too many good things I can say about him.

Dr Aung treats me for sleep apnea. Very conscientious and personable physician. No appreciable waiting to be seen at the appointment time. Nothing but good things to say

After showing up and meeting with Dr. Aung for less than five minutes, I was then billed over $300 out of pocket. There was no warning, just bam. They didn't work with me at all, and there was nothing I could do. They told me I needed a $700 out of pocket sleep study, and wouldn't order it from a place that worked with my insurance. Maybe this isn't all Dr. Aung's fault, but the way he runs his office is horrifying.

Met with Dr. Howard, she's great. Scheduling was the issue and I have a feeling one of the front desk girls didn't care to help me. Every time I tried to schedule, the earliest opening was about a month away. I understand it may not be easy to get in to this office but the office I'm currently using was very fast (like within a week) so Dr. Aung’s office is not the place for you if you don’t want to wait too long. Anyway, after my first consultation, I was told I should hear something from them within 2 weeks as far as scheduling the in-lab study (I remember this well because I was anxious to have this study done). 6 weeks later I called and they said they hadn't heard from my insurance yet. What was funny is someone else called from their office later that same day to tell me they're still waiting to hear from the insurance. I called my insurance and they said they had already replied to the doc's office (they denied the in-lab study but said a mini study where I take the equipment home was needed first). So, frustrated, I decided to call the doc's office and tell them I was not going to use them after all. A few weeks or so later I decided to go ahead and schedule a time to meet with Dr. Aung's office to have the mini study done where I take the equipment home. I needed to meet with them so they could show me how to use the equipment. The soonest I could get in to do this was close to 3 weeks. This was aggravating as well. So, 3 weeks goes by and on the morning of the day I was supposed to meet with them to get the equipment to take home, THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY EQUIPMENT AND WOULD HAVE TO CALL ME AT ANOTHER TIME TO SCHEDULE. That was over a month ago. For some reason, I get the feeling the girl that called had a hand in it but that is pure speculation. I do NOT recommend Dr. Aung's practice. Other than filing out a lot of forms on the first visit [common to all Health Care], it has been a great experience. Dr. Aung saw me exactly when scheduled, great bed-side manner, obviously knows what he is doing. He had my CPAP machine re-set to reduce the ramp time - and several days later I can attest that is is better and fits my sleep pattern. I am happy that my primary care physician recommended Dr Aung.
