Dr. Stephen Thomas Duncan

Dr. Duncan performed arthroscopic surgery on my left and right hip 6 weeks apart for femoroacetabular impingement with labrum tears. He done a tremendous job on both hips.

Very insightful, hopeful and honest

I have had both an arthroscopic hip surgery and a total hip done by Dr. Duncan and I would highly recommend him. I will have to have knee surgery in the near future and I will be going back to him for that surgery as well. He has done a wonderful job with my hip and I am completely satisfied with the outcome.

I had tkr in 2017 I have permanent nervedamage I kept telling him something was wrong his answer was always it takes time well it's z4 yrs later in constant pain

Dr. Duncan replaced my hip, my mothers hip, one of my coworkers mothers and all of us have done wonderfully just want to thank him so much.

I was absolutely skeptical to go through with another hip surgery at UK, not just another surgery, but an arthroscopic release of the iliopsoas tendon (VERY SCARY). There were a lot more cons than pros, with reading numerous forums and cases online. Dr. Stephen Duncan made it that much more clear to have it done! I needed it! There were still a lot of cons and the risk I was taking having the procedure. HE ACTUALLY LISTENED to what I needed and what my goals were. He was up front and clear with the procedure, so we went for it... this is my 5th week in recovery and I'm absolutely amazed! Even the next day I felt 90% better (I had a hip replacement in 2013 and have had nothing but trouble with my tendon ever since). There were chances of me not being able to lift my leg ever again, but Dr. Duncan made it possible!! He did an amazing job, not a terrible recovery, but it has its moments and I'm still recovering, but I cannot THANK him and his team enough for what he has done!! It is rare to find a Doctor as patient as Dr. Duncan, he takes the time to clearly explain treatments and procedures in ways common folk can understand. During the course of 9 weeks this summer I replaced both knees, totally, and the only regret is I waited too long. Doctor Duncan and his team were professional and efficient in helping pave the way for a pain free existence moving forward. I am moving great and highly recommend Dr. Duncan. Coming up on 5 years after having Dr. S. Duncan replace both of my knees-Love that man! I have recommended him weekly since my surgeries.

Dr. Duncan told me my case was beyond his expertise. Unfortunately, he didn’t find anyone else who could see me, and gave up looking. I’ve been left to just sit in pain without help.

I has total hp replacement nov 2017... the entire process was amazing....Dr Duncan explained the whole process from start to finish. I was absolutely terrified to have this surgery... but I am sooo happy iI that did...I was able to walk 2 hours afterwards. I didn't take any pain medication after iI got home... that is the truth. The physical therapy was easy...i just needed to relearn to walk correctly again. My check up appointments he genuinely seemed to care how well I was doing. Sooo if you are hesitant for any reason to have this surgery... please just do it. It gave me my life.. my smile.. my happiness back. Dr. Duncan replaced my left hip in March of 2015. I was playing golf less than 8 weeks later and was pain free and active again. Nothing but good to say about Dr. Duncan and his talent and gifts

He wasn't very quick to refer to surgery, but when there was a post surgical complaint, then Dr Duncan dismissed my pain and refused to investigate. He left me with an I fiction that took over a year to treat, and another surgeon had to repair the incorrect sized implant he put in my hip.
