Dr. Kayiaros performed surgery on my left knee on 10/22/21 on follow up after surgery Dr Kayiaros remove four are more large surringes of blood from my left knee on 11/5/2021. On the following week my Left would swell up with blood making it hard to walk . He stated that the swelling might reacure . On the 11/9/2021 called Dr Kayiaros to let him know about the swelling . I was told by his nurse he would see me on the 11/12/2021 at 0800 so for now two stairs

Dr. Kayiaros performed my full knee replacement surgery. Everything he said to me in my initial visit was 100% accurate. I walked in and was able to walk out, with a walker, hours later. There was minimal pain associated with the surgery. The only pain meds I needed was Tylenol. I worked hard at Physical Therapy and was back to work in 4 months full duty. 6 months post surgery my knee felt like it did 30 years ago. The surgery was life changing for me. I would reccomend Dr. Kayiaros to anyone needing knee surgery. He is a Rock Star!!

Knee replacement for my husband today and we could not have had a better experience with Dr Kaiyiaros and his staff at University Orthopedic. He’s home feeling good moving about and only using a modest amount of pain medication. Hope this is a n indication of the rest of his recovery! Would definitely recommend this doctor and facility.

Dr. Kayiaros is very efficient and a master in his field. He did a spectacular job in replacing the ball and socket in my hip. I was walking without pain the next day.

Dr. Kayiaros did my anterior total hip replacement on January 4. The surgery went very well and my recovery has been rapid. I think highly of this Orthopedic Surgeon and I highly recommend him to others.

My hip replacement with Dr. K. went beautifully. I was home the day after surgery. I was briefed on exactly what to expect, and all went as planned. I went for an annual check-in visit today, 17 months after surgery; all is fine, and I am having no trouble with the new yoga and Pilates classes I've started taking. I've heard from others that their only regret was having waited as long as they did to have the surgery...I would agree with that!

I am 54 years and had a full hip replacement using the anterior approach on 7/10/20 by Dr. Kayiaros. The results have bee nothing short of a miracle!!! In less than 5 months, I am walking with ease, hardcore hiking, mountain biking and road biking . These are things that I could only dream about before my surgery where I was walking with a limp and in constant pain/discomfort. I am a patient of Dr. K and have had 2 total hip replacements and was back to work and exercising in a month. Also had Physical therapy after and did exercises to heal faster and better. Dr Kayiaros corrected the poor job done by a so called specialty hospital in NY. He was great in explaining what needed to be don and obviously he did a masterful job bringing my knee back.

If I was 12 years old, Dr. Kayiaros would be my superhero. I cannot believe how well my double hip replacement surgery went. Not one problem or issue of any kind. Dr.Kayairos and his team were fantastic. After a skiing accident with torn ligaments and cartilage many years ago I needed a total knee replacement. I am an RN and heard from colleagues he was the best. My surgery and recovery went very well. Great bedside manner, very patient with my concerns, answered all my questions and more.

It has been five weeks since Dr. Kayiaros performed a right knee replacement on me. I call Dr. Kayiaros "Saint Stephen" because he literally saved my life. I had been undergoing chronic pain for three years and needed hip replacement, but he couldn't perform surgery until I lost weight. I worked hard and lost 90 pounds in a year. Then my surgery was scheduled, but the pandemic hit and he couldn't do the surgery because it was considered elective. Two months into the pandemic, I was seriously contemplating suicide because my pain was so bad. I finally decided that suicide was the answer and two days later, Dr. K's office called and said they were resuming surgery and I was at the top of the list. He operated and now I am totally without pain and walking with a walker, not a wheelchair. I say he performed a miracle. I never knew you could shut off pain like a faucet. I have many other friends here in NJ and they swear he is the best. Thank you, St. Stephen.

From start to finish, this Dr is of the highest skills, along with his incredible staff: I had a double hip replacement (by the way, they diagnosed it within minutes,after I've been to 3 highly acclaimed back surgeons who NEVER took an xray of my hips!!!)(Thank god I didn't push for back surgery!!), they told me every single step, treated me like royalty explaining every detail and the surgery & recovery was ridiculously pain free and very fast! It was way beyond expectations and beyond impressive. I cannot recommend him & his staff high enough, don't wait, I got rid of my arthritic pain and have my life back!!!!! I got lucky to have a close friend's wife who works there and finally I gave in, to a consultation and was I thrilled with the results(!), also the billing dept was spot on without any issues(that in itself is amazing!)

ELVERA HILLMAN TERRIBLE AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF TKR AND NERVE DAMAGE/ MY ANKLE IS STILL STIFF AND NUMB WITH NO CHANCE OF REDEMPTION, DO NOT USE THS DR FOR ANY SURGERY

This MD has ruined my life. In february of/2019 he did right knee surgery.He messed up my nerve which gave me drop foot. I have been depressed ever since. They made sure that 10 minutes before surgery he had me sign a paper that there was a risk to the nerve so that I could not sue for the pain and depression that has followed me since.seen multiple MD's that could not change a thing.There is never been a day that goes bye that I don't think about how much he destroyed my life and also my marriage which has given us so much stress. Also very clever that before the surgery they made sure that he was getting paid. I guess that fateful morning he had a fight with his wife or missed his sleep. I would think twice about giving him the opportunity to ruin your life as well.

On July 1, 2019, Dr. Kayiaros operated on me for a left hip replacement. I was released from RWJ Somerville the day after surgery. I live alone and have no caregivers except for occasional traveling nurses and physical,therapists. I never needed a walker and by the 4th day rarely used my cane. Within 10 days I was driving. I am in good physical condition and am only a few pound beyond my ideal weight. I think my recovery has been phenomenal. I attribute this to the surgical skills of Dr. Kayiaros. He employs a technique called the anterior approach. This is known to be the very best way of replacing a hip. Prior to seeing Dr. Kayiaros, I saw 5 orthopedists. Not one wanted to replace my hip because of existing knee and back issues. One doctor minimized my avascular necrosis of the hip as not severe. Since I had surgery I feel much better. My knee will be replaced by Dr.,Kayiaros as soon as it is medically advisable. The quality of my life has greatly improved.

He is a talented surgeon, however, he suggested a series of three shots in both knees, in order to relieve some of the pain I experience and recently had me collapsing to the floor. I definitely have two bad knees and some days, it is very difficult to walk short distances. I asked about having my handicapped placard extended for the difficult days, however, his PA informed me that it is Dr. Kayiaros policy to provide 3-month placards for individuals who he performs knee surgery on, and only after the surgery. It was not taken into account that they suggested shots for now vs. surgery nor the fact that I have two bad knees. They suggest I come back in six months for another series of shots. I have a 15 minute walk from my parking deck to my office, and must stop numerous times along the way, because of pain. I am saying bye bye to Dr. Kayiaros and University Orthopedics. I will look for someone who is a bit more sympathetic to my pain.

Dr. Kayiaros hands were blessed by God. After 3 failed L knee surgeries by another dr who told me I would be in a wheel chair for life, Dr. K did a 4th knee surgery, replacing the lost petela tendon w/mesh & I am walking!! Now going back to him for R hip replacement. The only dr I trust for orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Kayiaros was excellent. I had bilateral knee replacement surgery last Friday March 15th and was able to go home on the 16 th. Minimal pain and feel great. Glad I didn’t listen to people who said 2 knees at a time is too much .

Excellent surgeon! His anterior approach is less intrusive thus requires less restrictions and scarring! Very professional!

MASTER CRAFTSMAN! I'm thoroughly convinced Dr. Kayiaros can do a hip replacement blindfolded! Had my hip replacement on 9/12/18 as an out patient. Minimal pain. Anterior approach. Was off the walker and cane and P/T after 7 days. On day 8 I was walking like i was 25 again! This man is a 5-star surgeon if there ever was one. Kudos as well to the entire staff at University Orthopedics in Somerset NJ. I highly recommend Dr. Kayiaros. Yes, he is that good!

Dr Kayiaros is one of the finest surgeons in this country. He helped me when everyone else said I was a lost cause. I was headed to a wheelchair and now I’m walking on my own two beautiful legs for the first time in 10 years! He is a kind sweet man who put all of my concerns and those of my family at ease. He not only fixed both of my knees but he did a revision surgery for my hip as well, and he found a way to manage my pain. Both him and all the staff at RWJ are angels. You’ll be in good hands

I am over the moon with the success of my right hip replacement done 3 weeks ago today. I am certain that Dr.Kayiaros' training, his experience and his surgical skills are responsible for my success. The entire team and process has been nothing short of amazing. The team is professional, caring, efficient and most of all skilled. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and came to Dr. Kayiaros for the anterior approach for joint replacement. I am currently in my post op on stage (5 days) and my pain has been minimal. Obviously I have the discomfort of having a major surgery but so far so good. There were no complications and no major issues to report thus far. I highly recommend him !
